A warm and friendly welcome, room was just the right size clean and adequate for my stay... Breakfast was plentiful and tasty ... Would definitely stay here again and recommend
TV wasn't working in my room and the TV in the lounge area was making an awful noise
shouldn't be allowed to let people stay there until they sort beds out - lumpy and uncomfortable - not even a decent pillow or duvet - better nights sleep in a tent than here!
Decent sized room and very friendly staff
Very thin walls and road noise
Very easy to get to and from work
Decour a bit dated
The breakfast was ok and bed was comfy clean towels
Cobwebs in numerous areas of room dirty under bed and lots of webs behind headboard Dadio and skirting board very dusty Needs a revamp Bathroom Mold round bath could be scraped off so obviously not cleaned dirty and dusty on a shelf The breakfast was ok but we were asked if we wanted a full English we said yes then sat down to eat our cereal and the breakfast landed on the table so I recon it was reheated there was no was it was cooked fresh and the toast was soggy The outside is neglected and overgrown
Breakfast was really good
The room was filthy
Nobody to let me in, when somebody eventually did let me in 45 minutes later, they had no record of my booking, and no room for me to stay in. Shocking organisation and having travelled half way across the country to find you have no accommodation after booking 3 months in advance is unacceptable. AVOID!!
Lovely welcome great location for Nec. Was at least 40% cheaper than near by hotels but there is a reason for this.
Bathrooms terrible. Can make do with old furniture in bedroom and boarder held up with cello tape but bathroom really bad. Didn't have a shower because so bad. Black on tiles. Orange on tiles. Desperately need replacing. Understand going to be affected by train soon so can understand owners not wanting to invest. For one night ok if cheap but no longer.
There was nothing we didn't like The lady was lovely who ran it and made breakfast. Made us feel really welcome. Lovely lady. And more than definatley come back when we go back to nec next year
Nothing really. Bathroom could do with a bit of a tidy up but then you don't look at the walls when your in the bath So all in all, thanks very much
Location and breakfast. Friendly staff
As others have said, it was close to the NEC and the check in lady was friendly and helpful.
Beds were little more comfortable than half-inflated air beds, bathroom was mouldy and horrid, walls (and floors) were paper thin and could hear everything and when discovered room door lock didn't work, no staff on site to rectify. Won't be back...
Really kind, helpful staff. Reasonably priced
Struggled to control heating within our room and everything was a little worn and dated. Served the purpose of our stay but not somewhere we'd stay again
There was nobody there when we arrived to let us in. The room was dirty and the bathroom was filthy, the bed sheets were dirty. One of the mattresses had collapsed in the middle and it was extremly over priced for just the room only. Never again would I stay there again.
A conveniently located small and friendly B and B. Staff were excellent and looked after us very well. Rooms are a bit dated and bathroom slightly run down however for the price and convenient location I would visit again!!
price prompt service smiles helpful staff
flaking paint in bathroom black grout in shower grubby plastic utensil holder in shower heat in the building very noisy building, thin walls
Needs an update
The receptionist was polite and very helpful. Breakfast was acceptable but extra toast was not offered & once the breakfast was served the cook disappeared.
The bed was uncomfortable. Other residents in the hotel were in & out rooms throughout the night slamming doors, which culminated with someone leaving the premises by car at 03.30am.
1. The receptionist was friendly and helpful 2. Liked leaving and vowing never to return
1. The raw sewage smell outside 2. The TV hanging off the wall and not working 3. The crummy carpet complete with mould in the bathroom 4. The lack of bulbs in the bedside lamps 5. The cracked toilet seat 6. The 'quirky' door lock 7. The propped open fire door
everything else. No wonder they take your money when you arrive
Bathroom dirty and tired. Headboard not attached to bed. Carpet ripped exposing floor. Shower cold and leaking.
Proximity to NEC excellent. Efficient heating system if needed. Tea and coffee in good supply in room.
The building looked unloved both outside and inside. Rooms require make over, look tired. Smell of damp in room coming from bathroom where extractor fan not working. Valance half on half off on single bed, none on double, leaving base of bed exposed which was very old. I was looking for something of mine which I thought may have rolled under the bed and put my hand under, found a lot of grubby fluff and old rubbish under that bed. Furniture not moved for vacuuming underneath. Furniture was very old, but appeared clean. Cooked breakfast plated up when put in front of you, not asked what we wanted on our plate. Burned toast ( I mean blackened toast ) Felt more like transport café approach (nothing wrong with transport café, but not in B and B, room cold and no character ) Staff not engaging with guests at all. Worker had her coat on the whole time. No advice given there was a lounge, found it ourselves on second night. One of our bedroom windows was cracked across a large area, looked awful from outside.
Tv did not work, glass on window broken, window locks broken, valances around beds did not fit. Outside was in poor condition, the gardens were overgrown with weeds
Booked here because it was all that was available in area. Very helpful lady checked me in and prepared a good breakfast in the morning.
The place is very tired and in urgent need of refurb. The bedding was clean but mattress very soft. There is a musty smell throughout the whole building. Wouldn't stay here again unless i have to or if it was refurbished.
Cracking English fry-up!
The lady running this B&B was working hard to provide the best she could under the circumstances. Breakfast was excellent, beds were clean. We were staying there overnight after a trip to the nec. The accommodation is Ideally situated for this less than £10 in a taxi, very efficient taxi firm advertised in b&B. It was an inexpensive stopover and did the job for what we wanted, I've no complaints.
The building is dated and shabby, especially the bathrooms.
