The Old Barn  

Bargain, old fashioned but the owner was lovely and the breakfast was perfect after our night out!

I arrived on my own at The Old Barn Hotel, to be told there had been mix up with my room and they had overbooked the rooms. I was given 2 options either to travel to their sister hotel in Sutton Coldfield or transfer to another hotel which they said they had already reserved for me up the road in another village, as I had arrived on the date I booked a month previously, you can understand that I was not very pleased with the whole experience, I opted for the hotel just up in the next village which turned out to be very nice with pleasant staff and views and after the start to the weekend I had, the rest of was very enjoyable.

The beds were ok but a little bit hard for my liking

Its location to the nec and the staff where very friendly. All the bed linen and towels were spottlessly clean. Free parking. Would defintely stay there again.

On the website it says it has a swimming pool, but this was not available. Not a major issue, but it would have been nice to have had a swim...

The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way a few times for me, to supply me with breakfast earlier and scheduled, and even went and got me some gluten free bread form my breakfast. Excellent service.

My room was tired and run down, and in need of serious attention. Bathroom was tatty and unpleasant looking, shower didn't function properly, lock on the bedroom door was faulty and one of the plugs started sparking when I plugged in my laptop. The room/ bed was perfectly acceptable to sleep in, especially for a couple of nights with work, but I would have been very dissappointed if I had booked it for a personal break. Needs money spent on it to bring it up to a standard that compares to most modern hotels.

Friendly Staff easy location for my meeting

The staff, Sue are nice and friendly, any problems with the room were quickly and promptly dealt with. The breakfast are very good.

This the second time I have stayed in the same room, TV still not fixed, eight weeks later! Had to wait around for an hour before someone could come and let me register. Front door would not open due to the lock being faulty! The traffic noise is noticeable. It would seem that a little bit of money spent on the Old Barn would really improve the stay of the guests.

The sign for old barn can only be seen from one direction so we drove past.

our stay was comfortable, clean and value for money although in a secluded area you would need your own transport or taxis are your only option. swimming pool was closed.

We had the place to ourselves, although don't know why! Staff were brilliant and extremely helpful. The hotel was perfectly placed for the NEC and also well placed for Coleshill and travel into Birmingham. Food was very good too.

Finding it was difficult, it seems to be a hidden gem! More signage on the road would have helped.

Bed very hard..whole room needed a good clean (cob webs,dust on all ledges etc) not enough power points,tv /top box ,kettle,dryer,all in 2 sockets.shower curtain covers controls difficult to adjust heat etc,towel rail at wrong end of room for the sink.This property has great potential ,but needs a face lift /tlc.
