Parking was an issue as there isn't much room
we liked ever thing about the place staff were very nice and helpful
The rooms were clean and comfy, if you like themed rooms !! The barman was great BUT the rest of the pub is a continual building site with storage everywhere, most trading rooms were shut because of work, deep clean this pub.
No parking had to get up early to move the car. Grubby tables at breakfast, the pepper was stuck to the table, mis matched crockery and chipped. Wobbly tap and no power shower here !
Location is very central. Room was very nicely laid out and on a 'London' theme - other rooms have different themes. The building itself is a lovely old quirky mix of corridors, bars, restaurants etc. Room pretty quiet despite the bustling bar and restaurant downstairs. Staff were very friendly. The breakfast was very good, and other food, (especially the tapas dishes) were excellent as we also took lunch and dinner there once during our stay.
Room was a little dark, even when the sun was shining outside. Locking the door was a bit of a chore as the key was a bit temperamental (had been cut that day as previous guests had walked off with the original one!). Minor quibbles though.
The rooms are lovely, well decorated and themed, which I liked. The food was yummy, very nicely prepared and local. The pub is a traditional pub atmosphere and would not suit families with young children but non the less a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, polite and well mannered staff. The restaurant was nice and seperate from the pub although in the same building and you can see the chefs at work! Recommend this stay particularly close to Longleat where we visited, only 15 minutes away.
No wifi (unless there was but didn't ask) Will get a little noisy during busy periods in the pub but didn't bother us.
the rooms were very clean, the staff very friendly and not bad value
I find the room lighting too dim and the beds were too soft so sleep wise it was uncomfortable
The room was very comfortable & clean- staff made you feel v. welcome. We had an amazing evening meal in the restaurant & breakfast was lovely!
The noise from drinkers in the beer garden went on until v late, which made it difficult to sleep..Also the shower wasn't that powerful & ranged from freezing to scalding! Despite this, I would stay again!
No parking space despite reservation. No cot for 5mth old baby - took an hour for one to be located - one staff member unhelpful she just shrugged her shoulders when I asked where our baby was expected to sleep. Breakfast - choice good, but toast and bacon burnt. Poached eggs just tasted if vinegar - uneatable.
Big, comfortable room with mezzanine for children's beds ("Highland" room) Lovely location in old-ish building, on quiet street, pretty town reasonably close to Salisbury, Stonehenge, Bath... Very friendly and helpful staff Beautiful church across the street, good italian restaurant also across Hotel restaurant is good too
A bit noisy at night with pubs and bars For the same reason a stinky beer smell at breakfast
Staff amazing, owner shared story of his very recent award Well designed themed rooms Meal delicious Great atmosphere Felt very welcome Small touches such as the jars of sweets, biscuits and variety of teas were lovely Outstanding breakfast!
Parking only really fits two cars - we were lucky to get one! Room doors seem a little thin so you can hear others outside the room
Quality of the staff. Very helpful and attentive when I approached with questions, arranged an early check in for us and helped track down person who had blocked our car in.
very dusty room, surfaces hadn't been cleaned for a long time. Very poor quality pillows and the shower lacked any sort of power.
It's a Pub with 4 rooms on the upper floor, not an hotel, no reception, very noisy.
We visited overnight with our 2 small children. We ate in the restaurant, very good value & great service, the kids loved it. The art work is very interesting. A very eclectic hotel.
All the staff and even the bar customers were great!
I couldn't get on to the wifi
Food was exceptional. Staff very attentive.
Parking was poor.
All good accommodation and food excellent
Could find no fault whatsoever
the food was excellent!!!
not much parking
Heat and non functioning air con that was impossible to sleep through the noise. No reduction in room rate to compensate or decision to change room.
Everything was amazing
Great old english pub themed rooms very friendly staff set in frome
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfasts were the best I had on my trip to UK. Location was good in relation to my business purposes.
The train in from Heathrow was tedious with many changeovers. Same story going back to Heathrow. Frome drivers seem to not notice people crossing the street. The bed was a bit too hard for my taste (minor), and it would have been great to have had a table and chair to work at in the room.
The staff were all great, breakfast was amazing! Had dinner there twice and it was fantastic. Great selection of wines, beers and ciders at the bar downstairs.
Excellent food- attentive staff.
A little noisey as a Public House- needs more parking allocation.
Friendly staff food and clean rooms
breakfast was excellent. newly furbished rooms very stylish. lots of different places to relax, eat and drink. Great find. recommending it to everyone
