Everything Very friendly owners.
We were given a very friendly welcome by Lesley when we arrived. We were going to a wedding and although you don't get a key there was no problem about getting back late. Our room was beautiful, with a full hospitality tray and bathrobes to use in the Jacuzzi shower and the house itself is lovely. A full breakfast the next day with some of Lesley's home made bread set up up for our journey home.
Being locked out of room from 10am till 4pm and noise from child and the most uncomfortable bed ever experienced
Staff were friendly location was good but a l!title remote other than that all good
Disappointed by the fact had to share bathroom also creeky floorboards disturbed my sleep a little in the morning
excellent breakfast, big kitchen very cosy & comfortable lovely church conversion excellent value for money owner advised he could pick up walking groups at end of their walks if pre arranged would stay again
Incredibly warm and intelligent hosts of a beautifully restored church overlooking the town and valley. Lesley is an amazing cook- homemade bread and conserves. It was the best stay- even upgraded our room! Thank you so much David and Lesley.
Wifi, good breakfast
No ensuite facilities
We had a lovely stay at the Old Church. Lesley and David gave us a friendly warm welcome and were very helpful during our stay for the Commonwealth Games. Lovely room and great breakfasts-we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. Louise - Stratford on Avon
Clean, comfortable, airy room with most requirements and adequate breakfast provided.
A long way to travel to get anywhere and we found the 1-2 hour commute to Glasgow tiring. On arrival we were disappointed to be first shown to the wrong room which had no en-suite facilities. We were then shown to the more spacious Cairn Table suite. In this room, the over-complicated shower and toilet seat need up-grading and repair. Also, the bed sheets and pillows were of poor quality. No blankets available to use in place of a very heavyweight winter duvet. We were not encouraged to relax in the shared areas of the house. We were not given a key to the front door for free access and only on street parking was available. The premium double rate we paid was excessive in view of the long travelling distance to the games.
Wonderful breakfast, friendly hosts, lovely peaceful and interesting house.
We had a lovely stay, the room was beautiful, the breakfast was delicious and the couple that own the old church were very friendly and helpful. We would definatly stay there again.
Comfy bed Lots of towels Good shower Helpful and interesting owner Super conversion from old church And beautifully furnished
Breakfast a bit ordinary Cheap toilet seat Not encouraged to relax in lounge Location not very inspirational
Very clean well presented , friendly owners
I missed the small print, the room was not ensuite which was a disappointment .
Large room with great character windows and views. Interesting character property. Extras like movies, CDs & dressing gowns. Comfortable cosy bed and great sleep. Parking. Hospitable & interesting hosts.
Didn't get to try hosts homemade bread for breakfast. Not power shower and plastic toilet seat in ensuite.
Close to Kames Race track.
on arrival we were greeted by the owner, although we were a bit early it wasnt a problem, the hotel was quiet so he upgraded our room free of charge, the room was huge and very well presented in all aspects, with tv dvd player and cd player complete with dvds etc,the breakfast in the morning was plentiful and very enjoyable,we will defo return to this hotel when we attend a family gathering in Muirkirk again, deserves more than the 4* it holds, would defo recommend
Leslie and Dave make you feel very welcome ... this is our second time there! Their restaurant recommendation (Sorn Inn in Sorn) for dinner hit the mark 110%. Considering Leslie's baking classes!
Friendly owners Amazing breakfast Lovely converted church
The welcome, the food, the flexibility, the service, the rooms and so much more
Nothing it suited us perfectly
Nice welcome on arrival, with iced water and muffins. Room was bright & fresh with comfortable bed Robes, tv, dvd and films to relax with after dinner. Shared bathroom was bliss, Tub or Power Shower nice added touch with toiletries. Breakfast was amazing...Egg was work of art. David & Lesley were perfect hosts. Will hopefully get the chance to return.
Didn't get a chance to sample the spa bath...
