When you walk into the "old man's pub" that the hotel is above, you do worry about what to expect but the room was superb. Far exceeded expectations on all counts, especially given the pub downstairs. When you go down for breakfast and are told they'll "be there soon" by the staff standing around outside smoking you are reminded that despite the room being lovely, it is what it is, a room above a pub.

The staff. They were very friendly and it was obvious that the new tenants are trying their best to make a good place for living out of these premises. And those 2 swans made of towels left in our apartment by the cleaning lady. They really made us laugh! Especially that the next day there were 2 swans there again and 2 small ones in addition :)

Good hospitality from staff. Good fire going in bar area. Room very small, advertise a picture of a twin room on this website but that's not what you get. Breakfast was tiny but adequate. Overall would go back but expectations would be lower

Our room was very nicely decorated and the staff were very polite. The breakfast was only ok but not terrible. The Inn is next to a bar/club (which I appreciate is not the owners problem) so we did not sleep very well at all. The room next door appeared to have a 'lady of the night' working in their which also kept us up. There were a number of different occasions and people came and went to the room for a few hours.

Pleasantly situated in the town centre. The staff were polite and friendly. The premise is currently undergoing a refurbishment so it is not at this time as comfortable as it might be.

The room was of a reasonable standard and clean. The hotel facilities were not as described in your ad on the net. The restaurant was closed for refurbishment. Breakfast had to be taken on Sunday in a cold, drafty, grubby bar area. Our bedroom was not serviced at all and we returned to an unmade bed, and no tea facilities. The Woman in 'charge' was offhand and not at all helpful.

The character of this hotel is superb and has great potential for the right management team. For short stays in the center of town this hotel represents good value Bed and Breakfast accommodation. The rooms are well decorated, warm, clean and full of character. While we were there a new management team had only just taken over (4 days) and they were only just carrying out a deep clean, so it would not be fair to make any criticisms. This Hotel has suffered with a string of different managers but I feel confident in the new couple who will soon start to put their own stamp on the place. They seem to have the experience and enthusiasm that this lovely old Coaching Inn deserves. But if you want a modern hotel where the floors are flat and don't creak and you don't have beams on the ceilings then there are other choices for double the money.

The room was very spacious and decorated well - very clean When we went the kitchen was being cleaned so there was no food being served on the Saturday which was a pity as the food menu looked very tempting.

The place was full of incredible history, going back as far as the doomsday book. The village church was stunning and the locals were friendly. The coaching inn was lovely, our room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, the tea and coffee making facilities are a big plus after a day of meandering around the beautiful town, in fact, this place was so nice we intend to go back again after Christmas. The staff were lovely and took the time to tell us all about the history of the town, we had a fantastic break here. There was nothing bad to say about this place, it was all excellent.

Location/potential/ It is a lovely old building, but currently undergoing renovation which gives the place a rather scruffy feel. Present Manager/Manageress and staff seem under trained and not informed about how the owners wish to run the operation. Nice people but seem to be on a 'holding' operation when we visited. Could be so much better.

Good location in Faringdon Market Square. Old building with lots of heritage. Impressive power shower. The 'superior suite' which I visited to use the hairdryer (long story) looked lovely No hotel reception, just the bar of a fairly dowmmarket pub. Public areas desperately in need of upgrading. Breakfast disappointing - no fruit, had to ask for teabags. Worse on Day 2 when no staff turned up to open up for breakfast till after 9am. Staff pleasant but hopelessly unprofessional, and on both days the person cooking and serving breakfast wore incredibly dirty clothes. New broom needed in all senses!

Central location. Good room and bathroom. Breakfast poor with serving staff slovenly — smoking outside the breakfast room and slow to attend to the customers. Apparently unaware of the booking when we arrived.
