The Rawdon rustic bar retains all its old world charm but now offers modern entertainment such as a TV with Sky Sports, pool, darts and table football.
For the business traveller there is the conference centre with wireless internet access and meeting facilities for up to 40 people.
The hotel's restaurant, which looks out across the courtyard and the fountain serves traditional British fare from 12:00 until 21:00, 7 days a week.
The 2 bars within the hotel are designed to cater for different tastes. The Rawdon Bar is equipped with Sky Sports, a pool table, a darts board and table football.
The other bar has a much more rustic feel with original oak beams and a stone floor. Bar food is available every day (12:00-15:00; 18:00-21:00, or 12:00-21:00 on Sunday).
Furthermore, the hotel is close to the Uffington White Horse, one of England's oldest chalk hill figures, as well as the Iron Age Uffington Castle and Coate Water Country Park where there are opportunities to fish, bird watch, play pitch and putt or have a quiet picnic. There are a number of golf clubs and courses in the vicinity, and there are shopping areas in nearby Swindon.
Also nearby are historic Oxford, Abingdon, Witney and the Cotswolds.

It was very easy to find and convenient being in the town centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. The decor, and carpets in particular, although clean, were somewhat "tired". |

I did,nt like any of it. The breakfast was ok. We were not ask to register on arrival. Fire doors were proped open, electrical fittings in various ares were hanging loose and dangerous. The courtyard was very dirty with dozons of fag ends all over the place. We eat out in the evening because we did'nt feel happy with the menue and surrounds of the bar area where we were meant to eat amongst the local boozers. The easy chair in the room was filthy. Believe me I could go on ! |

The staff were friendly and the breakfasts were wonderful! The hotel was well placed for visiting the Cotswolds and in close proximity to a variety of eating establishments. Hot water took a long time to come through and the furnishings in the room could have been in better condition. |

Shower excellent and bed comfortable; easy reach to Oxford, White Horse Vale and villages. room very sparse of furnishings ie no chair, only one bedside light! This is not a complaint just an observation. |

Friendly reception and a very good simple pub meal nicely served. The room was very comfortable, and the shower was amongst the best I have used. Very good breakfast freshly and individually cooked. We like Sky TV when there is tennis to watch, but this was not possible. It was quite a long way to carry the suitcase up stairs and along the corridor |

The rooms looked very luxurious and were newly decorated. Very comfy beds and breakfast was speedy and tasty. We did n't eat at the Inn but menu looked good and the town was lovely to wander round. |

The breakfast experience was fine, and there was a vegetarian option for one of us, produced without any fuss. Service on arrival was not good - one barman who was expected to be receptionist as well, but didn't really understand how to treat customers. |

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a busy pub but quiet at night. Good location in a lovely town Some minor things like bulbs not being replaced before we arrived. Some minor decoration would improve its appearance such as covering damp patches on the ceiling and straightening curtains. |

A lovely historic pub and setting, that thankfully has not been modernised (no beige & beech!) and retains its character. Good Location in the centre of the town. I found the staff very friendly and helpful (if you are). If you take into account that this is a old building & pub first you will not be dissapointed. Could do with a tidy and sympathetic refurbishment. Rooms are a bit small. |
