On arrival we had a warm welcome from Debbie , the location was fantastic for us , very rural and quiet with fabulous views of the countryside , the room was very on trend one of the best we have stayed in and we have done quite a lot of B&B , the underfloor heating was lovely and the fresh milk and toffee waffles / shortbread biscuits plus a lovely selection of tea ( herbal as well ) coffees and hot chocolate which was replenished daily gave us a nice treat when returning from a long walk . The choice for breakfast was great and you were also offered a lighter choice , Ian was the cook and everything we had was well cooked and very nicely presented , the homemade compotes and marmalade were also a nice touch and to sit and look out onto open fields was a lovely start to our day , Debbie was really helpful with local information and she always gave us a lovely welcome every morning , we will definitely be returning again this year , highly recommend this fabulous B&B .

Superb hosts. Beautiful room. Very clean. Superb countryside. Good base location to visit attractions in the area. Peaceful. Local produce (including Debbie's own pork) in lovely, well cooked breakfast. Very reasonably priced

The local pub (the only place to get food locally in the evening) was 1.5 miles away along a single track road with no lights or pavement. It was not a good idea to walk the route in the dark. Ian and Debbie did offer lifts to and from though.

What a lovely quiet and beautiful location. The welcome was warm & friendly. Breakfast was wholesome & beautifully cooked.A lovely place to escape to....It rained most of our stay , but it didn't matter. The two local pubs were warm & welcoming , with good home cooked food. The weekend was excellent.

Debbie and Ian went out of their way to accommodate our special dietary needs. The location was very quiet and peaceful, the room was beautiful and well appointed and there is plenty to see and do in this area of Wales.

That our stay had to end so soon!

Greta place for a relaxing or adventurous break away - we did mountain biking in Afan Forest which is a short drive away. Lovely and quiet, comfortable, cosy and within reach of some great beaches and places of interest. Breakfast was awesome! I did like the small touches like the electric windows and blinds in the room, underfloor heating etc

This has nothing to do with the venue, more a point to note that there isn't a great deal of real foodie places nearby (that we found that is) The Red Lion is good pub grub and friendly, but if your after something a little more special, check options before you travel!

Debbie was lovely. We didn't arrive until late and she was really welcoming and pleased to see us. She gave us a tour of our room which was absolutely stunning, so clean, warm and homely! The idea of ordering breakfast is great and nothing is too much trouble, I do believe Ian does the cooking and made us pancakes on our last morning which were cooked to perfection. Home reared sausage, bacon and eggs too! Can't recommend The Old Diary enough to anybody, and will be going back for definite. Should be a 6 star B&B. Perfect!!
