Their breakfast and a la carte dinner was delicious and offered a good variety. We would come back for the food.
We didn't feel welcomed by the stuff and our room was actually quite noise. You could hear other people snoring next door or walking above. Rooms would need refurbishment and better insulation.
Friendly pub atmosphere, good quality food, cheerful staff and large bedrooms. Although the one we stayed in would not have suited a taller couple!
Cleanliness, friendlyness of staff, excellent location and wonderful views. Cuisine was some of the best of our trip to Devon and Cornwall
Being able to travel to close by resorts by river. Food at accommodation was superb as were the staff, 10 out of 10, will definitely return.
Nothing bad to say.
The food was amazing, gastro standard grub! I recommend the mussels! Lovely views of the river from the restaurant. Staff couldn't do enough for us, so friendly and flexible. The shower in our room was amazing too!
Last ferry from Fowey is 7pm but that's not the pub fault!
Friendly welcoming staff. Good food. An excellent view across the river.
Great location overlooking Fowey with courteous service and more of a feel of a small hotel than a B & B /pub. Generous, well cooked breakfasts.
The view was fantastic and did make up for no en-suite in our room.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, the bar was just what you would expect from a 400+yr old Cornish Inn with its large log burner and beam ceiling. Food was delicious, great breakfast. We had a basic room which was fine with a fab shower if slightly noisy fan. Very clean and bed comfy. The dining room has amazing views over the Estuary.
We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. The food, breakfast, lunch and dinner was excellent and beyond our expectations. Staff were very friendly. The view from our window over the river was great.
I imagine that paring may be difficult particularly at peak times.
Great welcome, friendly staff, beautiful location.
The Old Ferry Inn is charming, lovely staff who we're friendly, helpful and chatty. The food was a little more than we would normally pay but I guess the location has something to do with the cost! Having said that the food was excellent. Would definitely visit again.
The Staff, especially Pascal the Landlord
Location, friendliness, food, value for money.
Only drawback was bathroom being separate from bedroom. Not earth shattering and did not spoil our stay which we really enjoyed.
quality of food excellent and room was warmer than most hotels in Winter. Views were exceptional TV had more programs than we can get in Dorset
food portion size was too large to make three courses realistic parking on sheet ice was a little risky (I imagine this does not happen often)
Everything Wonderful views ,Great places to Walk ,Very good food and wine and friendly owner and staff
Having to leave
The outlook over the river and character of the place....my partner enjoyed the beer!
We did not have a bad experience, but feel tied to eating here in evenings as ferry stops about 7pm.
The location the food the real ale the staff were great very friendly locals and the views from the inn were great.
A quirky building with lots of character. Lovely views across the river. Breakfasts were great!
Dinner menu was somewhat limited. Bed not very comfortable until we put on extra layers of blankets and rugs.
Location is superb, with great views down the Estuary from the room window. staff were very helpful and the food was very good! Rooms were clean and Nice and warm. would recommend.
As a result of the position of the Hotel, parking can be an issue but not a major one. If in one of the older rooms on the second floor movement in the top rooms can be quite loud through the ceilings.
Bedroom (room 3) lovely room with great view and seating area in the bay window overlooking the river. Comfortable Lounge with river view Having supper in the friendly, cosy and atmospheric bar View from the Dining Room when having breakfast The Kippers! Best ever. Friendly staff Seeing (and hearing) the ferry going back and forward to Fowey Watching the large ships coming in to pick up china clay.
Room 3 has it's own separate bathroom down the corridor. Thought that this might be a problem, but it really wasn't. Can't think of anything that I didn't love about the Inn.
We were in no.3 room facing river and we could hear every foot step (creaking floor boards) when people moved around in the room directly above,it sounded like they were in our room!
We loved the Inn, it is very old and has such a great character but the rooms are very comfortable, clean and well furnished. We had a river view bedroom which was great. It was lovely to sit downstairs in the bar in the evening and the food was fantastic!
Nothing really. From the point of view of driving you might like to be aware that if you pass the Inn on your left and go up the hill, the car park is just a few metres up the hill on the right. I say this so you don't have to stop and ask where it is because the hill is steep and hill starts can be challenging!
New Years Eve dinner was excellent, very nicely presented ,well cooked and tasty. wonderful views of estuary from window even saw some fireworks in the distance.
Nothing to complain about Our two daybreak was well beyond my expectations
