Liked the food Liked the People View Brilliant
Paper napkins with dinner prefer linen Bit expensive
This was our first visit and we enjoyed it so much that we stayed an extra night. Perfect host, lovely room with a fabulous view, and excellent food. We're so looking forward to going again.
The location was excellent. The food was very good. The view from the room was excellent. The staff were very good and helpful. Fowey is a lovely location and provides a very good base for touring.
Our room had a extractor on the roof which ran for 24hrs a day. A good nights sleep was impossible.
The staff and the whole atmosphere of the place was fantastic nothing was too much trouble and the location and scenery was second to none! we are going back next year :)
there where no negatives to our stay
Food excellent .terrace views .location
View from room had room overlooking road and some ones terrace looking right I'n to room
Views in the restaurant were nice over the water. The breakfast was lovely. The hotel was very peaceful.
Car parking was tricky as the car park is tiny and was full so we had to drive around and park in the road quite away from the hotel. Also didn't realise that we had to get a ferry over but they were fairly regular.
all very friendly and helpful with travellers and local alike
Good food, excellent staff, super location and easy access to ferry.
I feel that the public rooms need a spring clean, however our room was cleaned properly.
It was nice parking place in front of the hotel. I love to park on 45 degrees surface, between two other cars, it was realy nice challenge for midnight hour after 6 hours of driving.
I didn't like the river view from my window, because I absolutely love it. Now you reading additional characters which have to reach 200 at least, so it's nothing important about more dislikes.
Views from the restaurant.
Very handy to Fowey and our room on the top floor was very comfortable and well equipped. The view up the inlet was fantastic. We only stayed one day and it should have been longer. Our meal was the best that we had in the south of England.
Narrow stairs - unavoidable in a building of this age and well worth it for the view..
Windows were not closing, very old fashion furniture, bad light
Scenic views Bar and bar staff Relaxing Rooms were very clean and comfortable Shower was awesome
Unfortunately if you want to eat elsewhere you had to be back by 8.45pm so you could get back over the river. Transport over the river quite expensive. Breakfast only between 8.30 and 9.30am Staff were capable and helpful but not very friendly.
The staff were friendly. Especially recommend eating in the bar pascal made us feel very welcome. Our meal was lovely there were several locals in and the place had a good atmosphere. The late night ferry was an experience as it appeared in the dark with just a whistle from a local fisherman that was on the slip way.
.paying to get to fowey everytime
Views from Inn very good.
Location stated Fowey it's not, it's across the river. Staff serving breakfast had a dirty apron on Clean sheet outside breakfast room at 8.30 in the morning so staff were already looking to the next customer.
View from the hotel
Poor mattress Small shower/toilet flies in the dining room dirty floor in the dining room location is NOT in Fowey. It is across the river in Bodennick. Ferry across costs GBP4.00 with car one way
The hotel itself was very pretty and clean; the staff were friendly and the service good.
It is not at all clear from the readily available information about this hotel that it is in fact not in Fowey, but in Bodinnick (we were not the only guests to be surprised by this!). As there is nothing much but this hotel in Bodinnick, this means that the hotel is only accessible from where you want to spend your time by ferry (from Fowey) or one to two hour walk (from Polruan) across fairly trepidatious (at least in the dark) coastal path. Unfortunately the ferry is unreliable and, having decided to stop running early one evening without warning, left us with this walk one night (and it really isn't a walk you want to do in the pitch dark) and not wanting to risk going into Fowey the night after, which was very disappointing. The location of the hotel and unreliability of the ferry should be made much more explicit.
The poached eggs are wonderful. River views are out of this world. If you are a 'Daphne' fan then this is for you-Ferryside is beside the Old Ferry Inn. The late night Ferryman appeared in the moonlight-magic.
Everything! The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable, although the ceilings were low, not a problem for me but anyone 6' tall might struggle! The room was clean and well equipped and although my bathroom wasn't en suite, it was literally across the corridor. Very clean and spacious. The food was excellent! Really, really good. The service was excellent. I WILL return to The Old Ferry Inn one day!!
Superb location and views. Fantastic in house restaurant. Charming and cosy lounge.
Noise from other rooms. Would have appreciated more information about the parking before arrival, as ended up parking quite a way from the hotel initially.
Great river view from our window Spacious room
Horrific parking. Less stressful to park on opposite side of the river and catch the ferry to the inn.
View from tjhe room was stunning!
Did not realise the private bathroom was down the corridor and not ensuite!
Fabulous view across to Fowey
If you like peace and tranquility the location is lovely. Staff were helpful and very pleasant
The room decor is very dated - think 80s. Having to cross to Fowey by ferry is tiresome and costly. Parking is quite tricky as the area is steep and the car park is not adjoining the pub. There is nothing to do on this side of the water so you are stuck after a certain time. Not for us.
Freindly staff & proprietor, location.
Uncomfortable mattress, needs replacing.
