Breakfast is served Monday to Friday from 07:00 until 09:30 (08:00 until 10:00 on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays).
Lunch is served from 12:00 until 14:00.
Dinner is served from 18:00 until 21:30.
The main feature bar, the Ginn Room, was part of the original farm where horses would have walked around turning the grindstone to crush the crops - known as 'ginning'. Today, this room offers a comfortable seating area and a bar with a varied choice of beers, wines, spirits, liqueurs and soft drinks.
The bar will close between 22:30 and 00:00 each evening, depending on demand.
Immersed within an area of natural beauty, during your stay you can enjoy a number of country pursuits, including walking, cycling, golf (there are a number of courses nearby), fishing or tour the beautiful Western Lake District - Bassenthwaite, Skiddaw, Buttermere, Crummock, Loweswater, Ennerdale, Wastwater are all within 20-30 minutes' drive.
The market town of Cockermouth (the birth place of William Wordsworth), the attractive port towns of Maryport and Whitehaven, and the historic town of Workington are just a few minutes' drive away.
If you intend to arrive later than 22:00 please contact the hotel prior to arrival to make arrangements.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Great food with a breakfast that really set us up for the day. Good A la carte menu with more than generous portions. well done all round. Hopefully we'll see you next year. Our mattress wasn't the most comfortable we've slept on, but that would not put me off from returning to the Old Ginn. With reference to other guest reviews, some we read prior to booking might have put us off, but complaining about TV picture reception etc., is over the top. for the record we never switched it on. |

We stayed at The Old Ginn House during a weekend break to the lake district with our two children. It offers great value accomodation for families. Our room was large & well equipped with bath / shower / hot drinks / good tv. Friendly staff and good family friendly restaurant, where the breakfast was excellent. |

Very comfy beds and pillows, large room, great shower, good restaurant for dinner at good prices, economically priced. We stayed here after driving through the Lakes District, and instead of 150+ a night in Windermere only 85 pounds here for family of 4 inlcuding breakfast. |

The hotel was very well situated for our purposes (lakes and mountains plus coastline. The rooms were very well appointed for the price, and quiet. Staff very friendly and efficient. Food was not particularly exciting, but sufficient choice and generally well cooked. |

The food on the evening at the hotel was very good, especially the fillet steak. I did not feel that there was enough choice at breakfast. The continental breakfast was basic (roll, coissant, and preserves) - some cheese or ham would have been nice. Perhaps the choice of some fruit and yoghurt at breakfast would also have been nice. |

The service in the dining room and the breakfast was good. The bedroom room was comfortable with a very good shower. Nothing serious but some things I felt were a bit sloppy and could be improved . The bed was not well made, towels not folded properly and a slightly soiled cup was left on the tea tray the first day. |

The rooms were tidy, clean and comfortable; the shower was good. Excellent breakfast; liked te kippers. Hotel is in a good position for the surrounding area as we were visiting relatives in Workington. Staff friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights stay. No weather protection between bedrooms and dining room. |

The location was good for the start of my coast to coast cycle. Room was clean and a reasonable size. The food was very basic and the restaurant staff did engage with you at all, they just ‘delivered’ the food to the table. The room was noisy from two separate locations; one was a television and bathroom fan switched on by the man in the next bedroom then left on when he went to the bar and the second was an air conditioning/extract fan servicing the main part of the hotel. |

The comfort and quality of the room and the bathroom. The bar area and restaurant were also very welcoming and pleasant. The jacuzzi bath was a little too small for two people and I was a little disappointed that there was not a selection of real ale in the bar. |

This a very well-run hotel, clean and tidy with a good sized room and bathroom and good internet facilities. The restaurant was basic food but with very generous portions and very quick service. The staff are very freindly and most helpful. No Continental breakfast on two of the days. No BBC television on two of the days. |
