The Old Ginn House Inn  

O quarto tinha um cheiro intenso a mofo. A comida no restaurante era de fraca qualidade.

Clean with good food.

Bed hard and room heater too small, took 24hours to get the room warm.

All the staff were friendly and polite. The evening meal menu offered a wide choice and the portions served to all of us in the party were most generous. The bar was comfortable and the facilities/prices were extremely good. The room was spacious, absolutely clean and fully equipped with everything that I needed.

The Courtyard Suite is wonderful. Well worth the extra for the upgrade

I didn't like having to go to the bar to order food and drinks. I think residents should at least have waitress service for any additional drinks when dining. Also there were three of us and I kept having to ask for someone to help me carry drinks. I was never refused but why should I have to ask?. Also at one point there was no one behind the bar so I was stood waiting. The owner (I assume) was sitting further down the bar having a drink. He made no effort to offer to serve me or to call the bar staff.

Refurbished rooms were very clean and furnished

No Sky Sports Doors to outside were noisy

Very comfortable room. Good friendly staff. Good value and tasty food at breakfast and lunch, and dinner times. Recommend the "Cumbrian Grill" for breakfast. Good quiet location.

Rooms were to a good standard, food was above average

A nice large airy room very clean and comfortable beds, a good size bathroom, the staff were very pleasant and helpful, nice coutyard and easy parking, a well stocked bar and a good choice of food and a small but comfortable lounge with a choice of books and games.

Only downside was an old ginn house steak, I ordered medium rare and got rare, as the steak was full of sinew it made it very tough to eat, we also ordered a smaller portion of a meal and it was very small but tasteful and veg and chips were spot on.

The atmosphere was very relaxing and the food was really nice.

We are from Norway, so it's easy. We like the hotel very much!!! The atmosfere is very good i Old Inns. My husband and I have an old house from 1700-1800 too, therefore we want to stay by you.

Very comfortabe, clean, modern rooms. There are tea & coffee making facilities in room which is something that a lot of hotels do not do. The food is fanatastic with a full, and I mean full, English breakfast. The reception and bar areas are very warm and inviting. We have stopped there 3 times now and will stop again when we are next in the area. Our friends, to whom we recommended the hotel, were very impressed and said they would definately stop there again.

If you have missed the set meal times, the kitchen staff are a little reluctant to make you even a plain sandwich outside those times.

The staff were excellent and the food very good indeed,and a comfy bar It was also spotlessly clean. It is about five miles from Cockermouth in a quiet village, handy for Keswick and Carlisle.
