The bed was amazingly comfortable and warm. The breakfast adequate. Staff very friendly. Lovely building, very atmospheric.
Bathroom like an iceberg. I put a bottle of wine in the room and it chilled beautifully. The bedroom was only slightly warmer. Our room was above the bar with no soundproofing. The housekeeping needs attention. The room did not appear to have been dusted.
very relaxing stay...
there was no such a thing
Staff were great, really exceptional actually. Very quaint and cosy atmosphere, nice food, friendly clientèle. We both loved The Old Hall Inn. Breakfast was excellent too.
Wifi provider turned out to "The Cloud" scam! This means no internet access, unless you agree to terms and conditions where they sell your details including post code and address, to all and sundry at a huge profit. It's most certainly not a free wifi to the end user! On the other hand, The Old Hall is a lovely place to get away from it all, so we were not too bothered to have no wifi for a day.
All staff were friendly and helpful; Excellent breakfast; Great location; Good atmosphere in the pub; Delicious food; Clean comfy room
Had a room above the Papermill Pub. Very spacious and (recently) finished to a high standard. The pub has had a recent re-fit and is very pleasant. Good breakfast in the Old Hall just across the road. Quiet location with little traffic noise. Easy to get to the Peaks countryside.
We stayed midweek and the pub closes at about 11.00. You can hear its customers in the room, but since we were in the bar with them it was fine, but may not suit all on a busy weekend. No wifi in room, plent of signal in Hall but I never managed to connect at breakfast time.
the building, the beer and the bed!
not able to reserve a dinner table
Lovely old inn. Very good breakfast. Showing first time American friends the beautiful Peak district, so excellent location for walking, and Chatsworth.
Our friends room which was booked months ago looked out over an untidy roof. Didn't realise this till we were unpacked and as they were having a 'beer festival' didn't like to complain.
It was a beautiful place to stay and huge! Lovely character and the staff were great they even sorted us a table out in the restaursnt when I forgot to book! The food was lovely and I would love to go back
We had only booked for one night!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent range of beers, nice log fires.
Mattress was hard and evening menu was limited.
Food was consistently good, and breakfast excellent. Staff pleasant.
Loud music from bar beneath bedroom. Though it did end about 11 or so.food
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent location and very nice room with fabulous views. Food was lovely and breakfast sumptuous!
Serving staff in the evening seemed a bit scatty!
Staff were friendly and helpful, location was good to visit surrounding areas , food was good and would defiantly stay again a most enjoyable time .

the complete ambience was perfect for us. We will certainly return.
Great response to a mini crisis in the middle of the night. Easy walk to a good Indian restaurant (which we miss having access to). Have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner here - all very good. Lots of good beer.
Friendly staff knowledgeable about the local area, extremely good food probably the best breakfast I've ever had!
Room on road side noise when window open.
Friendly staff, lovely room, good breakfast, lovely locality and good beer ( a large range of them.
No negatives at all.
