Very modern but still with character
Noise from upstairs
The staff were friendly, professional and nothing was to much trouble. Rooms were superb. Food was amazing. We travel a lot and without doubt The Old House is a cut above anything else locally. Seamless and faultless service . We will definately stay again
Whole trip was execellent
A beautiful place, lovely staff and food and the room was beautiful with a roll top bath in the bathroom too which was lovely. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.
Staff were very rude
Rooms were really good, the bed was comfortable and the shower was great.
Nice Place with pub and restaurant. Excellent food and friendly staff. Enjoyed the stay.
- nice rooms - lovely restaurant/pub with great food - staff very friendly - good location for going to or coming from Gatwick airport
The room was clean and comfortable.
breakfast service was very poor and disorganised. Noise from other rooms was very audible.
We were very pleased with the pub and accommodation as we did not want a 'commercial hotel' and needed to be near gatwick. Bed was extremely comfortable. room was a good size and very clean. Hubby enjoyed his cooked Breakfast and my eggs Benedict was delightful. Bar was cosy. we ate in the restaurant and the food was good. we would stay here again
the pathway to the rooms needs to be cleared. but in fairness to the owners we did not point this out at the time and i have no doubt they will now look at the path
Food & staff outstanding
Brilliant. We were mum and daughter. Looked after us before a long haul flight with nervous passenger. Very relaxing evening and dinner. Planes are overhead but did not bother us and stop overnight. Morning spent relaxing, great breakfast and stunning garden. So good I booked for another night before collecting Mum. Thank you
Good location near enough to Gatwick Airport. Good size room and big shower/wet room. Charming decor in pub. Very nice lady serving breakfast in the morning.
Room and bathroom were horribly dark. One small window in room no window in bathroom. Lighting inadequate. I appreciate it might be energy saving but it was useless. Must have been designed by a man as impossible to do make up anywhere in the dark corner that housed the mirror.A shower cap would have been useful. Dinner in the restaurant was not good. Steak OK. Burger average. Big chips not cooked in middle. Chocolate pudding over cooked. All seemed as though cooked from frozen. Breakfast average.
Staff really helpful
Menu was great
Very clean and comfortable
Can't really fault anything
Loved the restaurant great beef Wellington
The big keyring
"State of the art" bedrooms Restaurant food Quality cask ales
Food was excelent Staff Friendly
Location. Design of accommodation, the size and comfort of the bed, feather pillows and duvets. I slept through one of the area's most violent thunderstorms, without a stir; the bed was so comfortable. Designer lighting in the room. The high quality towels and the bath/wet-room made a big and positive difference to a short but very pleasant stay. Overall decor and design of a high standard. Helpful, cheery and friendly staff. Safe parking on site. Wifi.
Disappointing breakfast; grass trimming outside room from a relatively early hour on a Saturday morning (0800) was excessively loud and continued for some time and windows not double-glazed nor sound-resistant.
Food was excellent.
The accommodation was very comfortable and spacious. Facilities were great. Only drawback was the garden part of the pub had tables right outside the accommodation which became a little noisy at night.
Modern accommodation in an old world setting. Staff.
Not used to aircraft noise.
The Superkingsize bed. Cleanliness
Was a hot night and even with windows open the room was too hot to sleep, not helped by the noise of planes coming in to land. Air conditioning so outside noise could be silenced or even a fan would have helped.
Room opening into garden. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Able to take our dog into one of the dining areas and made very welcome.
Not knowing there was an additional £15 for our dog when we booked despite the search being for dog friendly hotels/pubs
