The staff were excellent, extremely friendly and welcoming! The hotel room was excellent quality, extremely clean, new and very tastefully decorated... The food at the hotel again was excellent!!! And the service friendly and efficient !

Fantastic hotel, great food, clean,warm and comfortable. Staff very freindly and helpfull . The food is superb, and a great choice of menu to suit all tastes.The atmosphere is both warm and welcoming, would advise to book bed and breakfast, never enjoyed a breakfast as much. Thank you to Glen who looked after us, nothing was to much trouble. We will certainly be staying there again, what a find.

Good accommodation ,Friendly staff, Good food, Good facilities, Had a good time as always would recommend to all my friends and others who want a good place to stay in the North East. Will always use the Old Mill when staying in the north East.

The room was quiet Absolute non smoking policy in all rooms - meant no trace of smell Bed was comfortable Wifi was easy and no fuss and worked

The friendliness of all the staff, and good value for money meals also location ideal for the a1 and access to the north east.

Cant think of anything possibly stairs to rooms for disabled customers.

Classic pub with food, great beer, good menu, good atmosphere, helpful staff

The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the pub-restuarant served excellent meals at very reasonable prices.The room was very clean and well serviced, although the skirting boards needed a lick of paint! A very good well-priced base for touring.

The hotel is in a quiet location but near a link road so light sleepers could be disturbed. Curiously, the hotel is not in the location indicated on the map - it's about a mile out of Coxhoe towards Metal Bridge.

The staff were very friendly and the food is excellent

The fire alarm went off at 06:45 - although this was not the hotels fault and i would not hold this against them

Very friendly staff, excellent facilities in the room, good reasonably priced food. The hotel is well located off the A1 and within a short distance of Durham.

suffering with copd to many stairs to climb to bedrooms as they are on the first floor and not explained on booking

Lovely clean room and very friendly, helpful staff. The restaurant menu is extensive with plenty of choice. Great breakfast too.

The only negative was the smell of cigarette smoke as you go upstairs to your room. The rooms are all non-smoking so I guess the smell came from the staff quarters on the first floor. This was very noticeable as we arrived and the smell lingered at all times. Fortunately it didn't penetrate onto the second floor landing or our room. There was limited space but a comfy armchair in the room might be nice too.
