Just off junction 61 of the A1M, The Old Mill is a traditional English Inn offering excellent food all day and en suite bedrooms. Durham is just 5 miles away. Tastefully furnished bedrooms feature bathrooms with a shower or bath. They also include free Wi-Fi, TVs, hair dryers, telephones and tea/coffee making facilities. Enjoy a fine meal from the The Old Mill’s English and European menu in the large dining room, the mezzanine balcony or the conservatory. The bar has cosy alcoves creating a warm intimate atmosphere. Durham is easily accessible and the Cathedral and University are a short 10-minute drive. The Angel of The North and Newcastle are both within reach. Fantastic hotel, great food, clean,warm and comfortable. Staff very freindly and helpfull . The food is superb, and a great choice of menu to suit all tastes.The atmosphere is both warm and welcoming, would advise to book bed and breakfast, never enjoyed a breakfast as much. Thank you to Glen who looked after us, nothing was to much trouble. We will certainly be staying there again, what a find. Nothing to dislike in this little treasure.

Good accommodation ,Friendly staff, Good food, Good facilities, Had a good time as always would recommend to all my friends and others who want a good place to stay in the North East. Will always use the Old Mill when staying in the north East. There's nothing to dislike.

The friendliness of all the staff, and good value for money meals also location ideal for the a1 and access to the north east. Cant think of anything possibly stairs to rooms for disabled customers.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the pub-restuarant served excellent meals at very reasonable prices.The room was very clean and well serviced, although the skirting boards needed a lick of paint! A very good well-priced base for touring. The hotel is in a quiet location but near a link road so light sleepers could be disturbed. Curiously, the hotel is not in the location indicated on the map - it's about a mile out of Coxhoe towards Metal Bridge.

Very friendly staff, excellent facilities in the room, good reasonably priced food. The hotel is well located off the A1 and within a short distance of Durham.

Lovely clean room and very friendly, helpful staff. The restaurant menu is extensive with plenty of choice. Great breakfast too. The only negative was the smell of cigarette smoke as you go upstairs to your room. The rooms are all non-smoking so I guess the smell came from the staff quarters on the first floor. This was very noticeable as we arrived and the smell lingered at all times. Fortunately it didn't penetrate onto the second floor landing or our room. There was limited space but a comfy armchair in the room might be nice too.

Really nice old pub feel, great food and lovely atmosphere. Rooms were fine and it's really well situated off A1M....great for a short stopover. Room was slightly cold but this is a quibble.

Friendly staff, great food, good location in a quiet spot but with easy access to major roads and towns. My room was a bit cold as it was the first cold snap of the autumn and the heating was not on yet but this is being very picky.
