The Old Mill  

Rooms were a little worse for wear and could probably do with a little updating, however the food was great, the welcome was great, the beer was great, so overall a very good stay which I may repeat at sometime

The stream, the pastures, the view, the roast lamb!

No automatic lock on the door. A bit pricey for the small room.

Beautifully preserved old mill on original millrace. Quaint bar area and lovely restaurant. Easy walk through picturesque meadows to city.

An old water mill set in picturesque countryside, with a great view of Salisbury Cathedral, the Old Mill is ideal for those who like staff who make you feel at home, a snuggly 'inn' atmosphere and great food. The New Year celebrations were great fun - fantastic food, lots of laughs and even a bag piper! My sister and I were very well-looked after and had a very relaxing stay. Very good value for money and excellent breakfasts.

Annoying overhead bedside lamps which were just at the wrong level - we head butted them everytime we sat up in bed! Very minor point though and may have been because our beds were probably two parts of a double, so pushed outwards a bit.

Enjoyed the relaxed ambience and oldie world setting together with the excellent cousine.

The breakfast - the fried bread was burnt so I couldn't eat it. I asked for more hot water for my tea and didn't get it. Toast was limited to 2 slices - I felt I couldn't ask for more. No-one offered to carry my bags to my 2nd floor room even though someone from reception walked up the staris the whole way in front of me and didn't offer to help!!!!! Unreal!!! Room - the door was very hard to unlock and lock. The lamp is on a table set back from the bed so you can't use it to read with. Bed was spongy and uneven. Noise from the river underneath the hotel was annoying. On leaving the girl at reception didn't ask me anything about my stay - she didn't care or perhaps she was afraid of the answer she would get. Hotel is a glorified pub with rooms. Worst place I have ever stayed in. I shall be staying in Salisbury for the next 12 months on and off so my account is worth having but it won't be at the Old Mill.

The location of the hotel is lovely, a pub on a small river, with a wonderful spot to sit and have a beer looking over the water if the weather is nice. The food was also good. The walk into town took around 10 - 15 minutes, and this was also lovely in nice weather.

This is a historic building, so there is no lift, so consider this if you have very heavy luggage. There was no room safe and the locks on the door are simple older style ones (the ones with large keys)

The location is excellent.

Over priced for b&B. Rooms need updating. Breakfast meal poor. Little on plate eg half a black pudding, one rasher cut in to two bits etc. Friends staying in other room, their shower failed to work even after being reported defective.

Idyllic location by a river, where many locals gathered to swim, eat at the restaurant or have a drink at the pub. Good food, friendly staff. Bathroom was large for a uk hotel. Comfortable bed.

Easy to hear people in the other rooms, but it is a very old building!

The service at the Mill was excellent and very friendly. Sam was excellent and is an asset to the business. All in all we felt very welcome and really enjoyed our stay.

The location is magical - you drive through Salisbury in ever-decreasing circles, then suddenly find yourselves in the middle of the countryside! The sound from the mill race is a constant soothing background, the building is full of old-world charm, the room was very comfortable, and the whole atmosphere is very welcoming. A 15-minute walk across water meadows dominated by the view of the cathedral, with sheep grazing, takes you to the middle of Salisbury in the most delightful way imaginable. We would certainly stay there again.
