Tom the manager was very friendly, as we're the locals. I was made to feel very welcome and safe as a female staying on my own due to work. Great stay thank you
Great staff Fantastic value Friendly Locals Great Food Everything you need for a short stay Frequent user of this Hotel says it all.
On arrival i was made very welcome by the staff and my luggage was collected from my car and delivered to my room, which i did not expectfrom a small country hotel, the food was very good, large car park etc,all in all very good stay
Excellent friendly pub. Good quality food and comfortable rooms
I needed to use my laptop and phone but could not get a mobile signal or wifi connection, although the weather probably did not help.
Nice pub, nice people, clean place. Excellent meals in the bar.
Breakfast (sort of) the fry up was good but the fresh options were lacking slightly, on the whole not bad but not amazing.
Maria and Tom were very friendly as were the locals. I was a solo traveller and was made to feel very welcome. Nice plentiful breakfast, very filling. I would definitely stay again.
Basic accommodation but adequate. Overpriced for standard of accommodation.
The room I was first allocated was small and the furniture was old and dated as was the case in the second room. The second room didn't have a shower but an old bath. I used a communal shower down the hall. This shower is also in need of repairs. The two rooms that I experienced are in desperate need of refurbishment. I had two meals in the restaurant on consecutive nights both were only half eaten as they were of very poor quality. The chips looked and tasted like they had been cooked the day before. I complained about the food quality on both nights. I complained about the quality of the food to the manager who informed me that he had investigated my complaints and found there was nothing wrong. I would not go back to this place
Really large room for just one person (3 beds) Tom (mgr) very friendly, arrived within minutes to allow me early check in.
Food was hit & miss Arrived before 5pm as wasn't aware of 5pm check in. Place in darkness, drove past it twice
Tom, Andrea and their staff make you feel so welcome. The Old Mill has great food and accommodation. I would recommend it as I always enjoy my stay there.
being disturbed by somebody really drunk waking me up in the middle of the night on the second night in the small hours
unfortunately the accommodation was not very good. The room was cold, the shower was very small and the room was really very clean. My wife would have fit.
Superb service and value for money as always When working in this area I never hesitate to book the Old Mill Everyone who works there are really helpful and pleasant Thanks again Tom and Team
Pleasant and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Comfy room.
Location. Food. Staff. Welcome. Dog friendly. Bar area. Pool/darts. Great prices for food and drinks. Service.
Bedroom 7 too tiny, bathroom, cobwebs.
Tom and his staff could not have been more helpful (how about carring your cases to and from the car on arrival). Great breakfasts and good value for money evening menu. Comfortable and clean rooms. Local clients at the Old Mill very welcoming and friendly. First class location to see the Western Lakes
Nothing really, perhaps an Email to confirm time of arrival.
We had been driving around Scotland and England for a week when we stopped for 2 nights at the Old Mill Inn. Staff washed my clothes, and even adjusted the temp. at the inn just for us. Great pub if you want a few pints. Nice place to eat before heading to bed. Easy jumping off point for the Cumbria Coast, Lake District and Hadrian's Wall.
The staff were very friendly and made us Welcome from the start.the food was excellent and the manager Tom went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. However overall we were happy with service and after all you get what you pay for.
The only thing that I can say is we had a problem with our radiator in the bedroom and the problem did not get rectified and the room was a little small as you could not open the doors wide enough.
The hotel manager went out of his way to attend to any requests. It is a very quiet stay, we did not realise that the hotel was full because it was so quiet. Breakfast is cooked to your request. The evening meals were also excellent. A lovely place to stay to explore the lakes
Good bed and breakfast accommodation in a rural location. The staff were helpful and considerate. Tom the manager was always there to offer friendly assistance. Fresh cooked English breakfast. Very clean room and comfortable bed. All in all everything available to make for a comfortable stay.
I prefer fresh coffee in the morning and not the instant variety on offer with breakfast. Tom mentioned they had a coffee machine but it was out of order. A minor point though - I accept I am a coffee snob!!
Good pub food, breakfast and evening meal in the pub restaurant, reasonably priced, good service. Good storage for clothes / case in room. Short easy drive to Maryport and Cockermouth.
no room for chair in the bedroom. pillows and bedding could be more substantial. limited beer range at the bar - no local bitter.
The staff, the food and the location.
Very nice pub style B&B. Great Cumberland Sausage for dinner. Sleep here and eat here. A bit off the beaten track, but a nice wee gem.
The late access after 1700hrs needs to be a bit more flexible.
The friendliness we where made 2 feel welcome and really enjoyed our stay
Friendly staff, wonderful character building.
Room was tiny and difficult to move around in.
