Opposite the impressive Lincoln Cathedral, The Lincoln Hotel is a 5-minute walk from the center of the city.
Score from 642 reviews Very good
Next to the magnificent Lincoln Castle, the Grade II heritage-listed Castle Hotel features individually styled rooms with free Wi-Fi and luxury private bathrooms. Free on-site parking is also...
Score from 429 reviews Excellent
In the center Lincoln’s historic quarter, this hotel offers old fashioned elegance alongside contemporary styling in a privileged position, within the shadows of the Cathedral.
Score from 431 reviews Very good
With a waterfront location, this 4-star hotel has a rooftop restaurant and a bar, both with views out over Lincoln’s skyline.
Score from 648 reviews Excellent
Fantastic friendly helpful staff good ambience comfortable and clean . Good breakfast choice and all food was cooked well and tasted delicious.
Difficult to find distinct lack of signs showing where it was and no signs in the hotel showing where the dining areas are. Restaurant difficult to book and food and drink a bit overpriced.
Great decoration, comfortable bed and linen, room heated and clean.
Wifi signal is not very good within the main building due to thick walls. The same issue does not happen with the rooms at the lodge.
Helpful staff, location, views, steeped in history
I would have liked a bath not a shower room, small detail
I really liked the location of this hotel; fantastic views over Lincoln and very close to the old town and cathedral. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room (being a single) was small but quite comfortable. Breakfast is freshly cooked and although my poached eggs were a little overdone, it was probably the nicest breakfast I've had in a hotel in a long time. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
The bathroom waste water appears to be drained using an electronic waste disposal device which, unfortunately, is quite noisy. This meant that the device in the room near me woke me up and I'm sure the device in my room probably returned the favour.
Great location in the cathedral quarter next to the cathedral, with free parking. Comfortable single room in the converted chapel (called the Lodge), where there was also a charming sitting room. Friendly staff and good breakfast in spacious and bright dining room. Perfect for exploring the old Bishop's Palace, castle and cathedral etc.
Nothing, except perhaps that there was no hairdrier in the room. Would also be helpful to have a few umbrellas by the doors to and from the lodge in case of a sudden downpour!
Great rooms and facilities, very comfortable and a hotel full of character. Breakfast is wonderful.
The location was excellent and the ambiance of the hotel was great Breakfast on the Sunday morning was excellent with a good choice of food and service The room was comfortable, clean and interesting.
We were looking forward to our stay here, having never visited Lincoln before. We were looking forward to views from our room of the Cathedral, Bishop's Palace or Lincoln City. Unfortunately, we had neither as our windows looked out onto the stone parapet at the top of the building and all you could really see was sky. You needed to be at least 6 foot to see over the stone parapet and as the ceiling sloped you had to be quite small to avoid banging your head in the bathroom. When we arrived, we were informed that the lift was broken and asked if we were ok with stairs! We were offered no help with bags and given cursory instructions about 2 flights of stairs. Breakfast on Sunday was great as the hotel was busy which is more than can be said for breakfast on the Monday which had clearly been kept warm for some time. Also, there was no wifi connection in our room which was inconvenient. After looking forward to our stay for weeks, I can only say that we were disappointed.
it was value for money. they didn't charge terrible prices for the hotel since it doesn't have everything a 5 star hotel has. The hotel was nice very unique and historical.
the only think I could say could be the breakfast. Everything was good but there was no cheese for non English visitors that could be provided. However I didn't ask so I am sure they would have given me some if I had requested.
Couldn't get a better location than literally right next to the cathedral and central to most things. The converted church where we resided was unique and full of character.
Wasn't the most amazing breakfast I've had, but who cares when you're staying in a place like this.
The room selected on your web site was a suite. The room available was a room with a very small bathroom and only a shower. It was not a suite!
The location was excellent as we attended the remembrance service at the cathedral. The staff were excellent and are a credit to the hotel. Could not find any fault with anything or anyone. Just a pity we only had the weekend there. We shall certainly be having a longer stay in the summer. Mick & Jacky Toyne
Central location. Helpful receptionist. Good breakfast. Comfortable room.
We were not warned that we were in a different building, and the number of steps/stairs. (Recent hip operation!) Only one parking space, though arrived at 2.00 pm. White wine not chilled and starters disappointing - mains much better!
Other than the roof window being too small, we cannot think of a single criticism. Hospitality tray well maintained, towels changed daily and heating controls very responsive. Good breakfast menu (apart from non-availabity of kippers on the last morning!). Wonderful experience to be surrounded by such gorgeous architecture. All staff we encountered were courteous and friendly.
We stayed on the upper floor in the lodge and the opening roof light was frustratingly small, but there may well be planning restrictions to account for that - and it's a relatively minor thing.
Everything would recommend to everyone
Thought the reception area did not look very welcoming needed a spruce up
Traveling with my disabled husband can be difficult, especially if I am on work trip. The staff were fantastic with him and he felt able to enjoy the whole hotel as a result, rather than just staying in the room watching television. It was a perfect place for him as he was able to walk the short distance to the cathederal and enjoy it bit by bit. And it made my stay very restful which was most welcome.
As I was there for work it would have been useful to have been able to connect to the Internet from the room rather than having to go down to the lounge.
fantastic location lovely setting quaint historic comfortable just what you need
We booked at short notice and were very pleased with the excellent welcome, including for our Border Collie dog. Great accommodation in the old chapel which has been very tastefully converted into rooms
£30 per night for the dog seemed a bit steep
Room overlooked the beautiful and grand Lincoln Cathedral
No mention of the Hotel on its outside
We would have liked a little bigger room but considering it was an Old Place it was fine. The view of Lincoln Cathedral was amazing and we will return.
We liked everything of it, enjoyed our stay even though just overnight. We definitely will come back again and recommend to our friends and families.
Good location in centre of Lincoln right next to the Cathedral, near castle and steep street etc. Hotel was comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Some nice touches e.g. bathrobe and slippers. I liked hearing the cathedral bells, but might be a bit noisy for some.
Cleanliness - most of the room was fine, but the wall next to the toilet was not very clean! Quite a few unsightly splash marks. Breakfast - buffet selection was located in the corridor which I did not feel was very hygienic. My glass for fruit juice had lip stick on it (not mine!). Some parts of the hotel appeared a bit tired.
Free parking Location Bathroom
Coffee at breakfast awful Dining room a bit haphazard, it was closed one night but there was no notice of that anywhere
Perfect location, just below the cathedral. Atmospheric old place with beautiful terrace and lounge.
The breakfast could have been better- the full English was a bit disappointing, particularly given the price...
thought it was a beautiful hotel and the view of the cathedral was amazing. The staff where very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them.
there was nothing i disliked about the hotel.
wonderful to wake up to the sound of the cathedral bells, lovely location ,historic hotel
long wait for breakfast due to small room and staff shortages but staff were apologetic and tried their best to be helpful when food eventually arrived it was excellent
