Lovely house, sympathetically decorated to fit the style of property. Welcoming hosts, friendly and informative but not 'in your face'. Spacious bedroom with comfy bed. Large private bathroom (across the hallway) with good shower. Mini 'kitchenette' with basic equipment. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice and lovely homemade breads. Well placed for visiting the local area.
Limited eating options locally.
The Old Parsonage is everything that a B&B should be at its best. The interesting owners, the care taken with the historic building, the sense of design in the furnishings, even the robes behind the doors and the wonderful full English breakfast were more than one could hope for.
Absolutely nothing. Well, maybe the feeling that our own home could use some updating to make it as nice…and it's a colonial overlooking Long Island Sound.
Staff were friendly and helpful Bedroom and bathroom spacious Food was delicious No noise from anywhere Beautiful area
Breakfast was First Class, the ambiance was just right and they seemed to be extremely nice folks. Nice place to keep the Harley-Davidson overnight for free ~ a BIG BONUS. We asked for a quiet room and got one.
I rated the bed 5 out of 10 on the first night, but my wife thought it was OK. We swapped sides the following night and I thought that side was 6-7 out of ten and my wife agreed it could be a bit better.
The warmest of welcomes with extremely comfortable accommodation made this feel like a home from home. The breakfast was absolutely first class. The house combines history with modern facilities. Highly recommended.
The proprietors, Charlotte and Brian, nothing too much trouble. The best English breakfast anywhere. The history of the hotel.
Busy road, but no problem with road noise if you keep the window shutters closed !
Please do not change and I will always stay if I need to be in the area. Hopefully see you again.
Comfy bed, beautiful house and warm atmosphere.
Warm welcome with a much needed cup of tea. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable.
I forgot my shirt, they called me, and handed it back cleaned, ironed. Amazing! Furthermore very friendly couple, and the breakfast was made with high quality ingredient.
Setting Quietness (the Main Street address is misleading in that respect) Relaxed and accommodating hosts Breakfast
Not easy to find in the dark
The house is great and rooms are large. Nice touches like the home cooked breakfast but also great for continental style with rustic breads etc. and the internal shutters for a great nights sleep are a good touch. Plenty of parking. The improvements to the house have not destroyed its character so well done on all counts and at a good price....superb.
Just a small point which is having to go out for dinner. Farrington Gurney is not the best for food and driving means no drinking so walked to the local pub and they offered a nice Lamb and Mash in a relaxed atmosphere, so can recommend that.
Comfortable large beautiful clean room and bathroom. Lots of antiques Owner was very helpful Breakfast was great garden was gorgeous. It was a nice night and we went for a walk around the area and sat in the garden. Gorgeous.
Just about everything. Not for the Holiday Inn brigade but it suited us perfectly. We arrived early & were treated to a pot of tea in the courtyard, perfect relaxing start to our stay. We visited Wells but just as convenient for Bath or Bristol. Superb breakfast with the added bonus of home made, speciality, breads. Fabulous
Didn't find anything not to like.
Refreshments served in the garden on arrival. Gluten free items provided. Beautiful building and very friendly hosts, nothing was too much trouble.
Shower tray requires deep cleaning.
We needed to stay close to Clutton for a wedding and we were glad when we turned up to The Old Parsonage with only a hour to spare before the reception started. The owners booked us a taxi as soon as she had showed us our rooms, both of which were beautiful. In the morning we were given the option of a full English breakfast, made to order, or continental which we all enjoyed, especially the home made bread and freshly brewed coffee. Free wifi was useful to figure out plans for the rest of the day. We would recommend this B&B to family and friends visiting the area. We had an enjoyable short stay.
Loved it all.
Excellent bedroom with a huge bathroom. Great breakfasts, and very friendly owners. 10 out of 10 - looking forward to my next visit!
Nothing I didn't like!
Gorgeous historic house with mod cons and local stone architecture. Loved the comfortable double bed, large bedroom and huge bathroom. Delicious breakfast with a wide choice. Brian and Charlotte were both welcoming and professional - everything was super clean and this carefully restored parsonage was fascinating. A winning combination - we'd stay again for that 'special treat' away from home.
Bit tricky to find on the sat nav - but Charlotte was really helpful on a quick phone call and waited outside the gate to check we were on the right track.
This accomodation was a highlight of our journey. Wonderful house, very tasteful decorated, so you can feel as part of the history of this house but with all the comfort of today and very nice owners who apart from a very rich breakfast gave us a lot of interesting and helpful information. So I hope, it wasn't our last visit.
great stay, very friendly staff, very good breakfast with fresh baked bread, charming histoty place
The owners were exceptional nothing was too much trouble and they were happy to share information about the district and their amazing property. The breakfast was the best that we have had at any B & B we didn't want to leave !
The owners were very welcoming and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast, especially the homemade breads. A beautiful house.
My husband is very tall (6ft6in) so we found the bed a bit short to be very comfortable. Probably wouldn't be a problem for the majority of guests.
Bedroom and bathroom - huge! Breakfast same!
Beautiful home, Owners were very hospitable, accommodating and friendly. Pot of tea on arrival, excellent breakfasts with homemade breads. Themed rooms with period features, four poster bed, high ceilings, shuttered windows.
Minor point was that property backed onto a major road so if you have a room at the rear, windows and shutters would need to be closed if you are a light sleeper. There is a need to travel for an evening meal as the closest two pubs were poor in both cellar management and food quality.
