We liked the friendliness of staff, nothing was to much .The rooms and hospitality was 100%. Near local Hotspots for day time exploration,At the end end of the day nice cool drink and a perfect cooked meal.to reflect and plan the next outing .

Friendly, welcoming, helpful, really good food and wide range on the menu both dinner and breakfast. Good beer, too.

Room smelt a bit damp and bathroom not as clean as perhaps it could have been.

The friendly and helpful service. They allowed us to leave our bags early as we were going to a wedding which started at 12 noon. Breakfast was excellent. Room was not large but had all the comforts we needed and was very clean and tasteful. We also liked the fact the accommodation was outside the pub so we came back quite late and didn't have to be let in.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

Quiety situated in a village mainly constructed of Rutland stone 2 miles from Oakham........ Ideally situated just a few miles from Rutland water...........and only 2 miles from where I used to live 34 years ago !! Great to return and find it still retains its village charm.

The 6pm check-in is a bit late........but after all it is only a village pub....with accommodation...but its worth the wait.

Great value for money, room very nice, power shower great, evening meal very nice and breakfast was lovely.

Our room was pleasantly furnished and clean, the room was plenty big enough for three adults (family room) to be comfortable in. The bed was also very comfortable, and the shower hot and vibrant. Our evening meal was delicious, with plenty of choice. Breakfast in the morning was exceptional, again lots of choice and good service. Would definitely stay here again!

It would be good to have a desk to check in. We arrived around 7pm on a Friday night, when the pub was quite full, and nobody greeted us. The barman was alone and rather busy, that said, he did attend to us as soon as he could and showed us up to our room. Rather a lot of traffic noise outside our window late at night and early in the morning. a

Excellent hosts. Staff are very friendly and very accommodating. Food is excellent and accommodation and facilities are very good.

Very friendly relaxed atmosphere, most welcoming traditional pub. Room was clean and well maintained and of good size.

Great little country pub with rooms. We stayed there on a Saturday night. The rooms were very comfortable and had been newly decorated. They were also immaculately clean. Dinner was good pub grub, very tasty with huge portions. Breakfast was fantastic. A great selection and as good as I've had in 5 star hotel.

Budget hotel. Can't comment on food as we didn't eat here. Very basic which was fair enough for the price. The bed was very comfortable and there was a good shower in the en suite room which was clean. The dog was allowed to stay, and they kindly set a table for us in the bar for breakfast, which allowed him to be with us.

The bedroom was very dimly lit. The early morning traffic noise was not ideal, but (together with delivery lorries) could be expected and tolerated for one or two nights. There was NO excuse, however, for the bedroom not to have been thoroughly cleaned. There was dust everywhere! Could be a winner, but I will not be returning.

Staff really try hard and breakfast superb. Beds comfy and bathroom very nice. Fantastic value.

Good sized room and friendly staff. The food was fantastic at breakfast and dinner.

Nobody's fault but due to the unseasonal weather the room was very cold.

This little gem of a pub is lovely; I organised my husband's 50th meal which was served in the conservatory. The meal was fabulous, service briliant and overall I'd give it a thumbs up!!

Bed was a little uncomfortable, but then isn't that often the case when you are away from home....:)

Very clean and comfortable. Made to feel very welcome by staff. Very good food and nice touches such as choice of jams and marmite for breakfast

There are six rooms and I was in room 3. Do not stay in room 3 unless you can sleep through the AirCon system racket which went on all night. Shame really but when you are on a course you need your sleep in bed not in the classroom and then I had to drive 3hrs plus to get home......nuff said!
