The actual place is stunning, Sally and her hubby are really friendly and make you feel welcome, the breakfast was top notch can't really moan about about any of the service that was given, extra credit for Sally going out her way when my tire got a puncture and she sorted out a tire guy! With service like that you can't go wrong! The surrounding area is beautiful and views are stunning could say that this venue is good for all ages. 10/10 would recommend :)
Signal there can be bad bare that in mind.
The owners Sally and Chris were the perfect hosts. This is how the service industry should be run. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic mostly grown or raised on site. Picture perfect house, inside and out. Beautiful scenery. If you don't go you are missing out!
I didn't go for long enough.
My mum and myself have chosen The Old Rectory for one night while traveling through Cornwall. The only pity was, that we could stay longer in this amazing B&B!! The owners has taken the best care so we feel like home. Breakfast made of ingredients from their own garden and all local products. They even drove us to the town to have a dinner. We were sorry to leave so soon. You have to see this place. Highly recommended! We would definitely come back!
Everything! Great food, great setting, great people, great time! Not to be missed!
Cannot think of anything!
The breakfast was the best I've ever had from a b&b. Everything was fresh from the garden or local suppliers and cooked to order. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was small but perfectly functional. The gardens are lovely to walk around with a romantic view at the kissing bench. The hosts offered their knowledge of the area and things to do and for the most part left to our own devices (which is just how we like it). Overall we were very impressed.
If you want somewhere quiet and the ability to explore the local area then look no further than the "Old Rectory". Excellent service and helpful advice on places of interest to visit. With such a hearty breakfast you will need little else to see you through the rest of the day. Sarah and Chris are excellent host and have worked hard to get it right - a must for Thomas Hardy fans, as the Old Rectory was a favourite of his.
Nothing really, WiFi in our room was poor, but that was minor as you could sit in the lounge or on the patio
it was quiet relaxing had everything you could need and more, owner was welcoming without being intrusive very pleasant clean and comfortable slept wonderful..
only the wondowsiel in the bathroom i caught my hand on it a couple of times when turning the taps on and off. not anything to worry about still planning on returning.
Breakfast. Calm. Kindness. Close to Tintagel & Boscastle
Dogs are not allowed inside the house. The owner did not read/answer our requests (left at the end of the booking process).
I find it hard to believe that anywhere else could offer a better experience than The Old Rectory.
The gardens ..
Everything- fantastic surroundings, food and hosts.
Having to leave
We could not fault this place. Everything it says on the web sites are absolutly correct. Garden is idealic. Breakfasts to die for.
Nothing at all.
Everything. This is a little slice of heaven, set amid the beautiful Cornish countryside.
Not staying longer!
Beautiful place, lovely welcome, tasty home cooked food, stunning gardens, absolutely loved it! Will definatley be going back
Location is a bit remote, which makes it magical. Absolutely wonderful breakfast, gardens and rooms. Spectacular views of the valley all the way to the sea. Recommending to all my friends.
everything was perfect all the surroundings were amazing. the owners made us a friend not a guest and must be one of the best b+b we have ever used
could not find a fault with any aspect of our stay
Wonderful hosts. If you love the countryside this is the place to go.
Very friendly and helpful people, the house and gardens were delightful, the room very clean and comfortable. A thoroughly pleasant stay.
The host and staff were excellent gave us a great bit of history of the house and the area. The gardens were worth the the price of the stay. Breakfast was wonderful.
It was hard to find but once there everything was wonderful.
The Rectory really suited us, it's a lovely old house with masses of character sat in wonderful gardens within a beautiful location. We would definitely recommend staying there
Sally and Chris made us feel like house guests in their lovely home, with so much history attached to it. The beautiful gardens and lovely setting of this property make for a peaceful holiday.
Everything!!! Amazing gardens, history, dog, breakfast and lots of little details.
The house had a lot of history attached to it which the owner was happy to share with us. She also welcomed us with tea and coffee upon our arrival and was happy to show us around the estate which included a visit to the pigs, hens and ducks! Much of the food was from the garden.
There was nothing not to like during our visit.
Made to feel very welcome, Greeted by lovely Sally,Millie the retriever, a fresh pot of tea, biscuits and freshly cut flowers from the garden for our room. The breakfast choice was very good and all cooked to perfection. I especially liked the organic yogurt with the home grown fruits along with the scrambled eggs and salmon. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere around the breakfast table. Lovely to meet such nice people. We stayed in Emma's room and loved it, so clean and welcoming. The rest of the house was to a very high standard. With fabulous views of the garden. Will defiantly return as excellent value for money.
There's nothing to dislike!!!!!
Friendly and relaxed - we felt really welcomed into the "family home" atmosphere.
