Warm friendly good food clean and tidy with friendly locals.
would be hard to find some thing to complain about.
Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Have stayed before and have already booked for Jazz festival next year.
So nice to find a genuinely dog-friendly hotel! Both we and they were made very welcome, the room was very comfortable, and the breakfast excellent. Being a small hotel the facilities, such as the bar, are small but very nice, and I cannot fault the bedrooms - very cosy. Being just on the edge of Callander it was also wonderfully quiet with a nice park to walk the dogs in just over the road. We shall definitely be staying again in the future!
We had a very good time with the live music on Wednesday night.
With sufficient parking for all the guests and a warm welcome from the owners, our arrival at the Old Rectory Inn couldn't have been better. The rooms were warm and comfortable - ours with a king size bed and very well furnished en-suite c/w a generously sized shower. Dinner was served with warm gratitude in the bistro styled restaurant using clean, fresh produce excellently cooked to provide a meal beyond expectations.
Whilst the owners / staff were very friendly and amenable offering advice and tips, there was just one thing that 'irritated' me somewhat - simply that the staff were dressed a bit too informal causing some concern over who was staff and who was a customer.
everything, the staff are very friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the food very good. the entertainment on Sunday was great.
The room was large. Our bed was big and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A great folk music session in the bar during the evening. And the food was excellent. What more could you ask?
Food Staff Comfort Location
Room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. We had dinner in the evening and the food was superb. The Inn is within easy walking distance of the village, so it was great to be able to park the car in the grounds and go for a pleasant stroll.
Very welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Dog friendly and only a few minutes away from the high street.
towels were discoloured and have seen better days - very thin and need to be replaced
Good position, excellent company, great entertainment and fab brekky
The large blue bin dominating the front gate!
The room had everything we needed shower products tea coffee etc. The breakfast choice was excellent. A lovely location with off street parking. Overall I would recommend.

Friendly staff, good food, clean room and good bed. En suite adequate but could be better but it should not stop you from staying there. Very nice family run premises. We would stay there again
Nothing to complain about
It's location, it's friendliness of the owner and staff. For whiskey lovers the 150 whiskies on offer. The group they have sing in the bar usually on a Wednesday which was excellent entertainment.
Didn't like coming out of the drive way it's s bit blind when coming out.
Central location. Large room and easy parking.
Although the room was clean the property itself is in need of a major upgrade. Breakfast was pretty woeful!
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, lovely breakfast. Great location to explore Loch Lomond and the Trosscachs Nat Park.
Friendly well run and welcoming, food was excellent and the added conveniences such as ironing facilities in the bedroom were much appreciated.
friendly people,very obliging.
Room a bit claustraphobic,window needed painting .
Lovely old house with big rooms, high ceilings and soft comfortable bed. Excellent location for town. Excellent Full Breakfast when it arrived.
Sunday morning breakfast spluttered to a start shortly after advertised 0830.
the breakfasts were excellent
dogs in the bar
We were told that breakfast was from 7.30. We got down there at 7.30 and waited till past 8 and still nobody had shown up so we had to leave without breakfast. We were charged the full amount upon reservation two months before which maybe explains why they did not bother about breakfast.
Generally, the room was well sized Evening meal was good both in quality, amount and cost.
Initial observations: A collection of assorted bits and pieces / junk behind the front door. When the curtains were drawn a number of hooks were unattached. Shower room could have been cleaner. View from the bedroom (side) window: a collection of tables / chairs, old bicycle and other bits and pieces. The major failing was that despite agreeing for B'fast at 08:30 (later than we wished) no one was available until 08:45. Breakfast tables still had drink rings / marks from the evening before. Overall impression: not good. Definately wouldn't use it again. The Old Rectory looked grubby and run down - Not impressed at all.
Food was excellent
Rooms were tired and need an update
Friendly people, a spacious room with everything necessary for a comfortable stay, a great breakfast and a very short stroll into town. And a fantastic bar for whisky lovers!
