Perfect location for accessing Norfolk Broads. Beautiful surroundings. Wonderful food. Comfortable room.

Personal, friendly service Food Value for money

I was warmly welcomed! It was a charming hotel on the side of a B&B. I have never had such a good nights sleep as I did there! I felt very taken care of!

Attention to detail is superb, lovely log fire, excellent dinner, this really is a lovely place to stay.

Staff were terrific - helpful and friendly. Dinner was superb, as was the wine and service. Location v good for the football! Would be keen to go again despite the negatives - will change room

Room 9 had low sloping ceiling with protruding beams - concussive! Radiators slow to work as were on low despite snow. Service at breakfast was poorish

Beds very comfy, good big bathroom, lovely sitting room with log fire, good breakfast.

Bedroom cold, I should have asked for an additional heater on first night, was offered one on second day but it should really have been in the room from the start.

The great welcome you receive from the host Sally and Chris and the wonderful dinners provided by their chef. The soups are the best ever!

Refreshing change from the large impersonal 4/5 star hotels. It was like home from home but with friendly attentive staff to look after us. Quiet,restful,relaxing,comfortable and very good meals and service.

Difficult to think of anything to fault it.

Very welcoming and hospitable. Close to the city center but secluded from the main road and very quiet.

Friendly welcome. Given choice of room best suited to my needs. Tea and biscuits in drawing room offered on arrival. Big comfy bed. Lovely meal on our first evening. Peaceful view from windows. Bus stop at foot of drive. Helpful instructions given in booklet in room as to bus numbers, which stands to use in Norwich, etc.

The breakfasts seemed to be a bit haphazard and unorganized. There seemed to be a disconnect between the order given to the waitress and what the kitchen sent.

Greeted at the door, shown where to park then accompanied to room to ensure I had everything I needed. Room large and very comfortable with views over the garden from two big sash windows. Lovely bathroom with great shower and good toileteries. Good choice of breakfast, all served to your table.

Breakfast could have had a wider choice. Although very nice, we did not feel it was worth the money paid.

The food is Devine, every mouth full was a real pleasure. Lovely surroundings and attentive staff. What more can you ask for !

A wonderful hotel - the owners could not have been friendlier, the standard was amazing. I walked through the door and felt at home.

The general ambience of the building, set in large grounds. Attentive staff. Food was out of this world.

The lovely setting, so close to Norwich; the attentive staff and the wonderful food. A gem and will certainly re-visit.

The ivy around the windows! Needs trimming back. There was also a musty smell in the room, which my be due to the age of the property.

Really enjoyed the stay at the Old Rectory and would thoroughly recommend it especially for the friendliness of the staff and for the sublime food. Very relaxing and interesting stay.

Lovely old character hotel. A lot of old worldly charm

We stayed for a very pleasant four days and had 2 meals. Chris and his wife are easy going hosts, the meals are a limited selection but of a good standard.Parking is excellent,our room was large with a large ensuite and the building sits in attractive and spacious grounds. We would stay again and will recommend the Old Rectory to our friends. We also found it very quiet and the village is a couple of minutes away with a couple of pubs overlooking the broad water.a great location to explore greater Norfolk.
