Friendly staff, very nice rooms and furniture, wifi available, parking.
We went to a family wedding, this is a great venue for a small occasion. The staff were very good, the rooms also. The hotel is laid out in comfortable rooms allowing quiet areas. A good standard of decoration. would use again
Beer is bottles or cans no draft.
The location is excellent and the staff are friendly, helpful and professional.
I did not eat during the evening but breakfast on three mornings was Ok but not in keeping with the high standards elsewhere. The breakfast had been cooked much earlier and reheated which is not great.
Location and staff.
Normal price for my room was a staggering £143 per night. I got a special offer at £69. I would say it was still overpriced. I was offered a room which had no proper shower only the ability to sit in a bath and shower or a room next to reception and the main meeting room which was very cramped. I took the latter as it had a shower but it was uncomfortably small and in a noisy location. Whilst the building is lovely and the location excellent I would say that for a business user comfort and quiet are more important. The staff were helpful and professional and resolved an issue I had in a way that really impressed me. So I do feel a little bad in giving a relatively poor review but essentially my stay was too cramped and too pricey and if I had paid full price I would be very angry. This despite the positives of the location, building and staff.
The Old Rectory sits in beautiful surroundings. The grounds are lovely and the old rectory itself is charming. Our room was maybe a little more quaint then we were expecting. The staff was very nice and worked very hard to make our stay and all their guests stay a happy one.
Wonderfull and friendly a must for couples and parties
The atmosphere is warm and tranquil yet has an air of sophisticated pride. Everywhere is clean. Staff are tentative yet discrete. So much better than those impersonal larger hotels in Redditch. The honesty book at the bar reflects perfectly how the owners treat everyone with respect and honesty. A quintessentially long lost British quality of small hotels.
personal, friendly and facilities
bathroom being seperate however the bathroom was beautiful and loved it - just wish it connected to the bedroom
I particularly liked the friendliness and homely atmosphere promoted by the staff. The food was very good and the Rioja by the glass was excellent, much better than the usual. My room was small; but I was swiftly offered a larger room --which I did not take up but could have done.
Redditch is a bit of a maze; the hotel- and Booking.com-- should provide a clear map to avoid a lot of hunting; but I found it easily enough after being pointed in the right direction.
The meals were first class
The lack of a shower in the room. My room was bath only
Great feel - much better than a chain hotel. Friendly service.
Charm Ambiance Attentiveness
Hospitality was excellent. Old world charm with original features.
bar area, lounge, and dining area were just the owners living area. We were told to serve ourselves at the bar and write in a book what we had which would be added to our bill. i thought £19.00 was expensive for 2 cans of cider and 1 vodka. decor needs updating urgently, although bedroom was ok. overall was more like a small b&b rather than a licenced hotel.
Quintessentially old school english. Very friendly service. Peaceful.
En suite bathroom a bit dated - Room 8
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It was a like a home from home.
The history of the Hotel. It was very quirky. Staff were welcoming and very helpful.
It would have been nice if the desk clerk had offered to carry my overnight bags up the very steep staircase.
Sell the croquet side as this is quintessentially english!! Wonderful Stay!
No luxurious shower and bath creme's. Noisy after 1am!! Creaky floorboards from upstairs!!
A very friendly reception, and the gardens and rooms were lovely.
Our room was very hot, and it seemed odd that the staff had not closed the curtains/opened the windows beforehand. We found sleeping difficult.
