spacious comfortable room with everything you needed, very clean, great breakfast with lots too choose from.
We had to travel after work which meant a very late arrival. The Old Rectory check-in policy meant this was not a problem. The room was huge and had everything we needed. Breakfast was fabulous, not rushed and plentiful. Will definitely stay again.
Comfy, refined stay in a beautiful old building immaculately restored. Room was wonderful, sumptuous bed and furnished to a high spec. Breakfast was absolutely spot on.
Wifi patchy, but with the thick walls in the property this is probably acceptable.
The property is beautifully presented and the staff are very inviting, nothing is too much trouble!
Few cobwebs on the ceilings, shower wasn't brilliant but over all still a wonderful stay
Homely atmosphere this is a bit and b not a hotel so you are staying in someone's home so you won't get porter serviced late bars excellent venue and good place to stay
We had a lovely stay here over the Christmas period visiting Mother in Easingwold. We really loved the house and the lovely family who made us so welcome. We were entertained on Chistmas morning by their charming son,Joseph and his remote controlled spider, which he got for Christmas. It was a great to see the gorgeous baby twin girls too. Paul and Rachel were the perfect hosts. The breakfasts were excellent - great quality food and vegetarian sausage too.
No complaints at all.
Beautiful room In a period building. The owners were very accommodating and helpful. A great full English breakfast in the morning.
The toilet flushing was a bit hit and miss and rather noisy especially in the middle of the night and shower the shower a little dated. Could only check in after 5 and had to check out before 10 am. £99 for 17 hours seemed quite steep.
Very beautiful and comfortable room with plenty of tea and milk etc. gorgeous bathroom and underfloor heating
Comfy bed, nice room, good parking
Tired bathroom, 'plastic' milk for tea/coffee.
Nothing to not like really. Beautiful house, great hosts, lovely breakfast.
As a Grade 2 listed building it was much more comfortable than other listed buildings we have used in the past. The owners were welcoming, cheerful and made our stay very pleasant.
Pleasant stay, run by friendly couple in very old and interesting property. Facilities good and clean with location handy for York and area. Very good breakfast.
Spacious, tastefully decorated room with heavenly 4 poster bed and a super modern sleek bathroom. Host were absolutely wonderful and helpful. The location is great to stay near York and the coast and they have a few great pubs nearby for dinner.
Nothing to complain about
The old house was updated beautifully, keeping the feel of the period. Everything was immaculate, the owners were lovely - booked us a table for dinner at a local restaurant, friendly, but not intrusive. There are public footpaths just behind the house and wonderful views across the land. We were very impressed, it was just as we hoped.
The room we stayed in was excellent, with very thing you needed for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was also very good
We were made to feel very welcome by the owners and our accommodation at the back was peaceful, spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was perfect with the fresh eggs! We liked the ability to come and go as we pleased and there is a resident's lounge although we were to busy to use this.We were recommended to the nearby restaurant(the Kitchen Cupboard?) which was terrific for meals! A lovely stay and we will be back next time in this area.
I have to say I was initially disappointed to find the Old Rectory was not in the centre of a small quiet village beside the church and with the village pub a wander across the road. I should have looked at Street View! However there is a wonderful walk into immediate countryside down Church Lane and you can find a pub in the next village a goodish walk away. Don't get lost like we did nor go on a Monday as we did. The Pub is shut Mondays! The Old Rectory location is good to travel around this area by car though just lacks that Pub next door to avoid the driver having a teetotal stay.
Beautiful house, very tasteful interior, very clean, all round quality, from the welcoming when we arrived to the day we left. Would stay again and would definitely recommend, well worth a stay.
friendly family& welcoming, relaxing atmosphere, ideal location for our stay, yummy Yorkshire breakfast with homemade jam.
The building is a mid eighteenth century former rectory with masses of original features and oodles of charm. The bedrooms are large, decorated to match the provenance of the house and the beds big and comfortable enough to get lost in! Breakfasts are just what you need to get your day going in the best possible way.
Perhaps (only perhaps) the electric shower in our room could have been more flexible to operate.
The Old Rectory was a real find. A lovely building decorated with excellent taste. Our room was delightful with everything you could need especially the really comfortable bed. It's run by a friendly couple who were most accommodating and Breakfast was delicious. The only downside was that we had to leave!
This old building was beautiful outside and even better inside. Really friendly family run business. Would recommend to anyone.
Everything was really lovely. The owners and family, the room, the eggs from their own chickens we could see as we parked our car, and the lovely Emma Bridgewater crockery!!
Spacious, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was great.
Very close to busy road.
Excellent host, great breakfast. Really well located for local towns, travel, food and trekking. Our host was great, and offered good advice and maps of the region. Beautiful house, lovely rooms and view.
Nothing. Excellent all round.
We loved the old building itself, the friendly, welcoming host and our great room with super facilities. The breakfast was awesome!
