Staff and location
Disturbance due to downstairs pub noises
Location to job
Wall paper coming of the walls in the rooms, owner didn't get up in the morning to make bed and breakfast
Hotel was by the sea, all sea view rooms. Enjoyed our stay very much and would stay again if we were to return to that area.
The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've stayed in, room was lovely and clean.
The town was straight out of The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock, lots of Starlings around. The beach is all new and looks really good. The Ship's bedrooms face the sea and there were lovely views, especially first thing in the morning when there was the most magnificent sunrise. The outside of the pub looks very scruffy but the owner is updating as and when she can. The rooms are already refurbished and are really nice.
There was nothing to not like in the pub.
The scenery of the sea outside our window. The staff and customers were lovely. Place was spotless defo go again
Great sea view from room, nice clean room, Fantastic price, wi fi a bonus,
The Old Ship was welcoming and homely, very comfortable room, really clean with lovely sea view. The breakfast was good value for money, tasty and filling, and excellent service from the staff, would recommend this hotel.
The only down side was that we didn't have en-suite, the room had shower and hand basin but bathroom was across the passage, found this an inconvenience.
Lovely view out onto beach and sea.
Some silly teenager/young adults that were drunk and noisy, but this a temporary problem as had been staying whilst working in resort, and their contract had ended that day, hence their celebrations which just went over the top!!!!
loved the sea view, meals at a good price. Rooms clean and tidy. Owners very friendly.
Wardrobe slightly too big for room, just catching on bathroom door and getting in the way as you go in and out bathroom.
Staff were all completely delightful, friendly and helpful. Room was immaculate and comfortable. Sea view I didn't see much because it was too misty! (Not their fault!)
I was most surprised that, apart from breakfast for residents, there was no meal provision at any other time. I had to get a takeaway, not being able to find a convenient restaurant.
Great friendly staff. Good breakfast for price
Clean simple room with an excellent sea view and located in a poor but very quaint area.
The pub is a bit tired but the welcome compensates.
the room overlooking the sea was wonderful
No sign posts for parking. We went round in circles looking for the car park. On arrival a tired looking bar tender who took a long time find which room we were in. The keys did not work. Paint work was coming off on ceiling,TV was too small unable to watch comfortably as it was high on the wall. The external bathroom the mirror was too high. For the price it was very poor! 2/5. On departure we were blocked in the car park due to a bike ride so unable to leave on time. I would not recommend very dissapointed!
Superb position staff and locals very friendly it was like being at home.
From arrival to the time we left the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room was excellent with an unbroken view of the sea day and night . Room very clean comfortable and warm - en-suite facilities good and the option to make a drink in room. Although did not want to stay in too long as the bar downstairs was more of the same and the breakfast was excellent too - had not planned to have a breakfast but was too good to resist. Tv/DVD in room - what more could you need!
Everything from the view from the room the welcoming staff to the comfort of the bed My sister lives in Blythe this was perfect I will be coming back every time I visit my sister
The staff were lovely. The price was very good. We had a great sea view.
The coffee - it would have made the breakfast so much better if it were real. And a pity that we couldn't get an evening meal.
Despite being the most reasonably priced, The Old Ship has the best location. It is closest to the shops and restaurants that Newbiggin has to offer. The bar on the ground floor is also a neighbourhood favourite. Finally, the staff are exceptionally kind and accommodating.
We were delighted to find the Ship inn at Newbiggin and would recommend to anyone. We had an excellent sea view from our bedroom which was spotlessly clean and well equipped. All staff were very friendly and helpful.
Quality of the recently refurbished rooms. Exceptional value for money.
