Superb position staff and locals very friendly it was like being at home.
Everything from the view from the room the welcoming staff to the comfort of the bed My sister lives in Blythe this was perfect I will be coming back every time I visit my sister
The staff were lovely. The price was very good. We had a great sea view.
The coffee - it would have made the breakfast so much better if it were real. And a pity that we couldn't get an evening meal.
Despite being the most reasonably priced, The Old Ship has the best location. It is closest to the shops and restaurants that Newbiggin has to offer. The bar on the ground floor is also a neighbourhood favourite. Finally, the staff are exceptionally kind and accommodating.
We were delighted to find the Ship inn at Newbiggin and would recommend to anyone. We had an excellent sea view from our bedroom which was spotlessly clean and well equipped. All staff were very friendly and helpful.
Quality of the recently refurbished rooms. Exceptional value for money.
No food available
Everything ,I was there 3days cause my wife was in wansbeck
The room had recently been refurbished and was perfectly fine with a great sea view. We didn't eat in the Old Ship (they don't do food on a Sunday evening) but instead found an excellent Italian restaurant no more than 100n away.
The locale is a bit run down.
We loved the sea view from our room. The room was lovely and clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. We stayed in a large family room which had a large double bed and a single. The staff were lovely and very friendly.
The pub itself is friendly, but décor is tired downstairs in the bar area. Although we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here not sure that we would recommend because of the pub not the accommodation.
The Manager could not have been more helpful. Simply brilliant!!!
A bit shabby in places but didn't put us off.
Nice room. Fantastic view of the bay.
Position ---staff -----bed ---we had breakfast which was good..
Nothing to complain about
Room had view of the sea excellent. Clean and comfortable room breakfast was ok bar was alright and the staff as usual were friendly.
Shared bathroom Needs more coat hangers for clothes More tea coffee and milk available once you had used the bit put into your room daily although saying that when asked the staff did produce more.
The friendly staff were very welcoming and accommodating the seaview was an absolute pleasure
There was nothing I didn't like
It was very clean, comfortable, and very friendly pub and patrons downstairs. The view looking right onto the sea was breathtaking.
The bathroom needs to be a bit updated.
really liked the people very friendly and helpful
Very comfortable, relaxing and a beautiful sea view.
We never had any complaints and the staff were excellent in dealing with anything at all. Would recommend!
Clean & tidy room with good shower
No meals were available maybe because a wedding was on when we stayed
The Old ship gave really friendly service and was very welcoming. The room was basic but clean and the sea view from the front bedroom is quite stunning.
The general area is a lttle run down but the unspoilt coastline scenery more than makes up for it
everything our room was overlooking the sea the room was perfect we went away for a relax and we got that, the landlady jackie and her staff were at your call all the time, they were wonderful, and its a old worldly pub with a perfect atmosphere and the locals made our weekend memorable thankyous x
i cant comment because there was nothing we could not like
friendly atmosphere, nothing to much trouble, bed super super comfortable, excellent view over the bay, breakfast. Would definately stay again xx
shower cubicle to small, not enough electrical sockets all on one wall for hairdryer etc the Old Ship just needs some TLC to bring it up to date :)
The locals and the staff made us feel very welcome jackie was an excellent host lovely sea view and a very comfortable bed would definately go back again nice breakfast and you could say what time you would like it so you don't have to get up at the crack of dawn
Owner was very friendly... she hadn't received notification of our booking, but sat us down with a cup of tea while she sorted out a room. Made us feel very welcome during our stay and spent time with us... never made us feel rushed. She even gave us a small food gift when we left (we had been talking about local dishes!). It is a very community minded pub... had a great night singing along with the local ukelele club
nothing... all good
