This was a beautiful little building in a gorgeous small market town. The old stables feels like you're in your own home and you're felt to be a part of the family. It was nice to be able to go to the kitchen at any time to make yourself tea or coffee and the light breakfast of cereals and toast was just right. The room I had was out of some romance novel with it's whinding stair case up to it. I found the old furniture so lovely compared to clinical places like a Premier Inn. The bed was so comfortable l didn't want to get out of it and l will definitly be staying here again the first chance l get. The owner was so nice and friendly and suggested lots of places to see in the area. He also had the most gorgeous little dog who was so friendly.
The fact l was only there for one night.
The acommodation was pleasant in every respect.
Beautiful old house Decent continental breakfast Great Host Cozy home from home
Parking. But, was ok, just parked in the adjacent street.
Bed and facilities were good, explanation of breakfast was good, a help yourself (just like being at home)
Could do with a clearer picture of the house as quite difficult to find. May be a street view map.
Very pleased we picked the old stables. The owner was very friendly and welcoming, it was everything we was looking for and more! Only wish we stayed longer!
Lack of parking
Very pleasant, able to have a good meal in nearby hotel/pub 'The Bell Hotel' just a short walk away.
Tea making facility in the room would have been appreciated.
- Friendly and helpful landlord - Dogs are allowed - Home from home - Quaint, quirky and cosy - Excellent wi-fi - Quiet town centre location
- Parking a challenge but not impossible

Very friendly owner, lovely house, very authentic, we felt very much at home
Jeff is very friendly.
The dining options in the village are a bit limited.
The location was perfect for us. It's a very pretty house close to the villiage, but nicely tucked away so it's quiet. It's a lovely old building and the decoration and furniture is in keeping with that, but all mod cons are available. The bedroom was a good size, bathroom was clean with all the accessories you could need and the bed was big and comforatable. Being an old house none of the surfaces were level, but that's part of the charm of staying in an old cottage. Guests had use of the kitchen for tea/coffee/biscuits and the lounge for TV/DVDs
Breakfast was disappointing. Our hostess offered to get us anything we wanted from the shop (cheese, eggs, bacon etc) for us to cook ourselves in the morning, but we had an earlyish start so just made ourselves tea and toast. The kettle warmed the water but didn't boil so I had to make my tea using a saucepan on the hob. This wasn't what we expected, and perhaps if the owner had been there he would have cooked breakfast. We missed our full English.
Quite clean room, comfortable double bed and nice English breakfast. Jeff was a great host, and his dog Zoey was so lovely.
Nothing at all.
Location, cleanliness, home from home.
Nothing all good
Friendly owner and beautiful room and en suite. We enjoyed meeting other guests in the evening and next morning and particularly, the hospitality of the host. An enjoyable stay. Highly recommended.
Parking requires a little creativity as the lane is narrow!
Bed very comfortable, en suite good too. The uneven floors take some getting used to!
No real parking near door. Breakfast was a 'do it yourself' meal - no orange juice on second morning! Garden could do with some TLC.
we were met by the owners friend as the owner was on holiday, Emma was great, she showed us everything we needed to know then left us to it, telling us to make ourselves at home. Jeff the owner has a fantastic collection of records cd and dvds all of which were available to use, the rooms were clean and fresh. The kitchen and sitting room are a great place to relax and just chill. this place has real old cottage character, old and quirky, if you are looking for something else then go to a Travelodge. We had a great stay here and when we eventually met the owner he could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The local pubs are near by and the atmosphere was very friendly, the food in the bell was good and reasonably priced. In all a very good weekend break
The host was very friendly. Everything we asked for was possible. Nice place to stay.
Felt like home from home being able to use the kitchen and living room as we wanted. Friendly welcome from Emma
We did not have any difficulty parking but it could be tricky if there were several guests needing to park as on a narrow road
Comfortable bed, quiet location. Easy going and amenable owner. Charactor building but may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.
Cramped bathroom difficult for tall people. No designated parking. Although the kitchen and sitting room are available to paying guests, it does not feel appropriate to use them when the owner is entertaing his friends. Shared space did not work for us.
Jeff will introduce you, with his beautiful manners, to this fantastic place located in the gorgeous country side of UK. Everithing just perfect.
Old cottage with spiral staircase up to a light and airy bedroom. Very clean throughout. Jef (the host) is friendly and welcoming yet professional at all times. Secluded garden. We didn't have the cooked breakfast as there was plenty of cereal & toast (with locally made jam and marmalades) Great restaurant / wine bar within a couple of minutes walk.
Slight lack of headroom in en-suite (its a very old cottage and I suppose its a feat of engineering that an en-suite has been fitted!) On-street parking might be a problem for some.
The friendly relaxed atmosphere was good, with access to the kitchen and sitting room provided. The little cottage garden was peaceful and relaxing. Continental breakfast was good.
Just a little difficulty finding the place as no signage however part our fault for not picking up phone message early.
Everything was just right , the owner, the comfort, the place itself and the area in the town . The house was " yours " and everything was available to use whenever you like . It felt like being at your own place.
To get parking for your car can be a problem to some.
The warm welcome by Jeff and the accommodation was simply stunning. Breakfast was fab too. Will stay again and will recommend xx
