The nearness to Bakewell The ability to use the dining room/ 2nd sitting room in the evenings. The breakfasts set us up for the day.
Everything was great. We will be booking again next year :)
Very Clean. Staff welcoming to a degree. Nice pub / restaurant within 5 minutes walk. Free wifi.
Room quite small and cramped. Overlooked the A6 which was busy all night. Stuffy room meant we had the widow open and the traffic kept us awake. Limited car parking meant carrying bags about 50 yards. Not enough power points and tiny TV
Delightful host and breakfasts.
Victoria and her mother were both very kind and helpful. Good hearty breakfast !!
Bedroom too small, and not really suitable for the longer stay. We had booked for 9 nights, but left for a hotel after the second night. However, fine for a shorter (2-3 day) stay.
A comfortable b&b in a good location for visiting the surrounding area. Room was cosy but had everything you need for a comfy, enjoyable stay.Lovely freshly cooked breakfast in the morning set us up for exploring the area. Would reccomend this b&b
Having to go home!
Ideal location for touring The Peak District. Pleasant room with everything we wanted including a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was first class and set us up for the rest of the day.
Spotlessly clean, breakfast was exceptional, recommendations for eating out and suggested walks were excellent, good shower and bathroom was adequate.
Entrance was a little off putting, but once in hallway it was fine. Bedrooms were on the small size but comfortable
Victoria and her mother were extremely friendly, helpful and courteous. The house was homely and we were made to feel very special. Breakfast was superb
Perfect location when one is travelling by local bus to visit Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and Bakewell. Very comfortable bed with lots of pillows. Delicious full English breakfast. Warm hospitality provided by knowledgeable and helpful hosts.
That I wasn't able to stay longer.
Friendliness of hosts Breakfasts of good quality
The stairs were difficult for an elderly couple!
Very friendly and helpful owners. We were attending a wedding at the hotel across the road so this was a very convenient place to stay. Excellent breakfast. Very comfortable nights sleep.
The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. We have hot water for shower every night and heats up pretty quickly. Vicky and her mom are very friendly hosts and told us some hiking trails we can take around the area. The breakfast is delicious too!
The walls are pretty thin and we can hear the other room's couple chatting or if they are taking a shower.
Delicious breakfast especially the coddled egg which I had never had before!
Excellent advice about local walking; lots of suggestions photocopied onto A4 sheets that visitors could take. Clean and comfortable bedrooms. Situated midway between Matlock and Bakewell so really easy access to many superb locations in the area, and no need to take the car. Handy parking. Comprehensive recommendations for local pubs/restaurants, etc.
Slightly noisy (near A6 and main road to Chatsworth). Parts of the breakfasts were good, utilising local produce, but not all - weak tea, not great scrambled eggs, a really mean allocation of toast (2 half slices between 3 people on our second day – and yes, we could have asked for more, but it seemed awkward). The owners seem genuinely keen to make it all good so this is in the spirit of constructive criticism!
Freedom to come and go, excellent Food for breakfast, and a comfortable bed. I liked Vicky and Maureen very much.
I could not find anything to dislike.
close to interesting sights good breakfast
unfriendly host small room and bathroom very busy road
THE Bed THE food The company The Dog The not so old station house Brill loved it,,, still talking about our two days away,
The drive to Lincoln....
Breakfast was very good and well presented
Location, breakfast, host
Sharing a table for breakfast
Quaint village in beautiful countryside. Great breakfast Friendly owners.
Small parking area but adequate
breakfast was lovely, but having to share a table with strangers was awful. We have travelled to many places and never had to share our breakfast table before and found it very uncomfortable.
wonderful part of the world
Noisy location on the road, and rather sullen reception from people obviously not enjoying running a B&B
The old station house owners were very welcoming n we loved the idea of sitting together with other guests for breakfast nice to chat about your day n get tips on where to go and ovley food
had to come home
Very efficient. Food excellent. Location very good for touring the peak district. The owner is friendly and helpful and very pleasant. Bed was comfortable and the room furnished with tea making facilities, and en suite bathroom.
The room was smallish and we felt it necessary to open the window for ventilation (the weather was hot) which resulted in a lot of traffic noise as the road is a very busy one.
Very hospitable hosts, location, great breakfast
