staff attitude and service very good.ambience of the old fshioned type building and area in general.
pillows on beds could have been better [too hard and lumpy]
Food excellent both breakfast and evening meal.No need to eat anywhere else! Warm welcoming helpful staff nothing was a problem. Spacious comfortable clean rooms.
Tired bathroom, but only a minor point.
The staff were excellent this hotel was wonderful, quaint, very clean, food was also excellent, great place to relax in the garden,
the hotel was brilliant but we found Stow-on the - wold had not that much to do. buses didnt run on a Sunday Parking was awful. but we did stay for 2 nights - - not even a little park to chill out in but very nice place to visit for 1 day.
Staff were all very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent. Very central location.
Had to change rooms as the bed was very squeaky. The second room was very comfortable. Duvet in both rooms was too warm for the time of year.
Hotel has great character, being 17th Century. Rooms spacious & well fitted, wardrobe space somewhat limited but OK for short breaks. Bathrooms nicely modernised. Dining Room pleasant and service good. Management & staff all very pleasant & helpful.
Limited Bar area & no Residents' Lounge but latter to be rectified with pending upgrade to Ground Floor facilities. Bear in mind: Access to bedrooms is via narrow stairs & corridors with stairs being of uneven depths therefore not suitable for disabled persons.
friendly staff excellent breakfast.we did not use the resterant.very comfy bed.
room 2 was dark with a view of a brick wall. the doors all seemed to need a coat of varnish to tidy them up, this would of given a better first impresion. The shower was pritty basic.
Although I was a solo traveler, I was given a large, pretty room with a very comfortable queen-size bed and lots of storage. The staff was very helpful. The new manager was eager to meet my needs. The breakfast was fine. My one dinner at the restaurant was delicious. I ate outside on the patio among other happy people. I really enjoyed my stay at the Old Stocks Hotel.
The tub was so high that I had over 2 ft. to the floor when I stepped out. I was on the top floor in a room whose entry door was less than two feet from the stairs. However, I got used to these challenges and thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I understand that the rooms will soon be renovated, and I'm sure that these problems will be addressed. I'd visit again for sure!
Good food ,friendly staff ,relaxed atmosphere .
Quaintness, character and age of the building.
Gave up waiting at breakfast for additional items. No 2 pin shaver point in room- had to go out and buy shave gel and razor. At end of visit the quaintness was getting me down.
Friendly helpful staff Good food Quiet room Good location
Duvet too warm Some general upgrading required (shower screen had some mould, bath grouting, etc)
They have rooms that accommodate 5 people. Right in the center of charming town. Close to everything. Easy Parking Easy to get to cotswold villages. Great Breakfast
Room was slanted, but that added charm as well.
Very convenient lots of atmosphere - staff helpful and friendly would like to have stayed longer.
Bathroom was lovely and spacious but only had a bath with shower over it - fine for me but maybe some would like a separate shower as there is lots of room for it.
The staff were efficient, friendly and very helpful. Our room was comfortable and plenty large enough. It was at the back of the hotel and overlooked the garden, where you could take your drink or have a meal. The food was good and we would definitely stay there again.
I can't think of anything!
Location was good, the staff were polite and helpful. Food was excellent, room clean and the view was lovely.
Location, evening meal.
Absolutely delightful, friendly staff. Amazing food--you must try the cajun burger! Great location (although it's a very tiny town). I would go to Stow-on-the-wold again just to stay here.
Staff couldn't do enough to help Really friendly Breakfast was lovely. Room was clean and exceptional value for money
Room was big and clean. Bed was large and comfy. Attentive staff at breakfast. Good choice of breakfast.
Receptionist was a bit brusque at check out.
1st visit to the hotel and the Cotswolds, loved the privacy of the garden room, location is stunning, delicious Cotswold breakfast to start our day, the friendly staff made us extremely welcome
Loved the exec room 10 overlooking secret garden. Ate in restaurant after looking at other menus which was mainly pub type grub. Stocks had new menu more 'cheffy' as it was wedding anniversary. Staff absolutely lovely
Would like to have bottled water in room
nice setting good breakfast excellent bar meal menu
garden rooms should have reserved seating on patio
Location Food and drink Ambience Terrace Restaurant areas
Lack of room ventilation Noisy town hall clock
We stayed at the old stocks a few times and always found it lovely, but there were a few xtra touches that made a nice but short stay even better. We found the staff verry nice and the food was excellent.we will stay at the old stocks again soon
Location. Large room Clean Dining room staff
Person on desk Sunday evening who couldn't tell us breakfast times then took a phone call.

Later breakfast could have been good ;-)
