The views all around the hotel, the breakfast, the staff. The fact that our bedroom, which was supposed to be an executive double, looked onto a carpark instead of the lovely hills

Had a good feel to the place and location. Down the steps across the court yard room next to the main entrance door. Maybe a dampener would stop the noise

Staff very friendly and approachable, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The room displayed on the web site showed a large tv on the wall, yet the one we had was only a 14", and the sound kept going on and off. There were no hair dryer and when asked they said they kept them in a store room, why? The room was very antiquated and needed a desperate refurb, I upgraded our room thinking we were getting a superior room, this definately was not. The food menu was a typical pub menu but the prices were that of a hotel. I had the chilli, and it had been watered down that much it was difficult to find any meat? Breakfast was a little better however we both asked for our eggs runny, and both got them hard, the sausages were cheap and tasteless. When we left the proprietor was unavailable to discuss any of our issues.

Efficient friendly service by all the staff. Good quality food at sensible prices. Simple things like having the invoice prepared ready for check out really helps the impression. There was a little bit too much noise coming through the window from the carpark/road (i was in room 18) - wasn't a massive issue for me as I can sleep through anything - but could be a consideration for other guests.

My stay was made particularly pleasant by the friendly and helpful staff, and I would have no hesitation recommending or staying again. TV didn't quite set up as the instruction seemed to indicate. Got it working more by luck than judgement.Not a reason not to stay there.
