Just come back from a lovely anniversary weekend stay. The room was beautiful, the nicest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Lovely big bath and molten brown smellies. Just the treat we needed to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Chilled champagne and chocolates waiting for us in the room. Could not thank the staff enough who were also lovely. And to top it all off a delicious breakfast in the morning ! Thanks for a wonderful stay x
The hotel is beautiful and the room we stayed in was a good size and very well decorated and dressed. The staff were very friendly and eager to help and I would definetly stay again.
Good location and building, pretty garden. Good breakfast. Bed comfortable. Very clean.
No bedside table, and no shelf in bathroom for toiletries bag! Shower cubicle on the small side. Need comfy chair to sit on.
The gorgeous chocolate in the room on arrival, the fantastic bathroom in the executive room and quality toiletries, the comfy bed, cleanliness and space in the room. As there weren't many other guests, the hotel was very quiet and there was plenty of parking. The staff were friendly. It was quite hot and so we appreciated the fan in the room.
On arrival we were not told what time breakfast was, nor whether there was wi-fi, nor whether there was a bar or dining facilities. There was no information in the room about the above either. A small guide to the hotel would have been appreciated. We hadn't paid for breakfast in our rate and when I found out it was 9-10am on Saturday, I was glad because this was too late for us, so I can't comment on breakfast. Other than this small point, we absolutely loved the hotel and will definitely return when in Newark again. Thank you.
The layout of the hotel, friendly staff, general décor throughout and the quality of the bedroom facilities and ensuite
The welcome was good as was the breakfast and the staff were very friendly. Parking was good and the grounds were excellent, as was the restaurant.
The room was very small and we hated the fact that there was only a curtain and no door separating the bedroom from the toilet/bathroom. Also there was only one bedside table which was very inconvenient. The one bedside light didn't work, but we were compensated by a free breakfast which was much appreciated.
The Vicarage is so lovely inside and out. The grounds are kept beautifully and the hotel was so fresh and clean. The bed was comfy and inviting and the bath deep!
The staff were a little on the quiet side and inexperienced, but they did their best.
Everything! Great staff, stunning interior, the most comfortable bed in a hotel we had ever slept in. Breakfast was great value for such quality food.
Could have done without all the fluffy cushions on the bed! Being a little picky, gravel drive was not good for a motorbike but we managed.
Liked the décor and the beautiful garden Liked the size of the hotel Loved the cooked breakfast Staff were pleasant
Hated the curtain separating the en-suite from the bedroom Lamp on bedside table didn't have a light-bulb in. Only one teabag per person - would have liked a cup of tea in the morning. Was placed in a 'standard room' when the booking confirmation stated that we had booked a 'Deluxe Double' room and for a Deluxe room we found the accommodation quite small.
Slight problem with bathroom design no where to hang towels close to shower. Also shower too small for the overhead shower no chance to keep hair dry if you didn't want to wash your hair
Well furnished and very clean EXcellent coffee Breakfast ok but a little limited for a vegetarian
Orange juice ? From concentrate. My room was very small although hotel not full and awaiting a wedding the next day, was not offered a larger one
The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The room was perfect. Breakfast was well presented and lovely and we enjoyed it all very much
There was nothing to dislike.
Beautiful hotel very clean
Room was just too hot and not door on the bathroom just a curtain
staff all very helpful, booking taxis and local restaurant for us. room very impressive, the whole hotel was stylish, breakfast was excellent .
nothing we plan to re visit in the summer as the garden looked lovely and inviting but we were there in December.
We loved everything. The room was beautifully decorated, bed very comfy and bathroom with a bath to die for. Made us feel very relaxed and pampered. Breakfast was lovely, maybe not quite £10 worth but lovely all the same.
Very clean with high quality fixtures and fittings.
Big step down into the en suite bathroom, which for older people was a safety hazard. Lack of advice on how to use the electronic door lock on the outside front door leaving us out in the rain at 11pm.
Very efficient welcoming staff
No lights above mirrors
Loved this place, staff are wonderful and very efficient. Decor gorgeous
Nothing at all
