The Old Vicarage Bridgwater

The place is full of character and very quirky with each room being individually styled. We had 3 rooms and each room had a very large and high standard bathroom, 2 of which had very generous large sized showers. The staff were amongst the nicest I have encountered and the breakfast one of the best I have ever eaten in terms of perfectly cooked with the chef coming out to chat with us afterward. A very pleasant stay indeed.

Attention to detail lets the place down just a little as in a few things appear a little 'tired' in the rooms. The only other thing I think perhaps should be mentioned in their advertising is that as the building is so old and quirky, the floors are quite uneven and the stairs quite steep and therefore, its not suitable for those who are limited in mobility or perhaps the more elderly although ground floor rooms I believe are available.

Poor quality accommodation, nothing like the website pictures. Cold rooms and in a poor decorative condition. Locked out of the reception/breakfast area in the morning. Expensive stay for the quality of accommodation.

The winding staircase up to the rooms in the "ANNEX"! ANOTHER GUEST USING A DIRTY SERVING SPOON (PREVIOUSLY HAVING BEEN USED FOR BAKED BEANS) IN THE SCRAMBLED EGG SERVING DISH! URGGH!

Good WiFi (for business work). Very comfortable room and excellent shower - plenty of hot water. Stay in the hotel for a decent steak.

Parking can be tight - but at least it does have parking on site. And right in the town.

The old pub where we ate is part of the hotel and we had a lovely drink first in the sunny garden, all ver pleasant.

A lot of noise from other guests, very thin walls and creaky floors.

Location and quaintness of the accommodation

Room was on the main road, traffic continuous until 3.30am. En suite very small with no room to put anything.

Lovely staff. Food was excellent. Great location. Very clean, spacious room.

it was a pleasant and friendly apmostphere,clean ..and warm ..

parking can be a problem ..but they do try to help ..carpets need updating ..

the staff were very helpful and the room was very comfortable (the bed was a dream to sleep in) The breakfast was very good and lovely to be able to have a choice.

car park was difficult to access, but in their defence we did have a large car.Plenty of car parking spaces. It would be better if they could arrange for the space on the road opposite their hotel to have no parking in it,this would enable easy access.

Centrally located with parking, this historic old hotel has bags of atmosphere with incredibly friendly staff. Worth staying just for the cooked breakfast.

We only had breakfast at the Old Vicarage but it was excellent and could not fault it and the service was good.

The room we had was very poor, very grubby and the en-suite was so bad we did not use the shower.

I rang to say I would not be arriving until 9pm. They let me order over the phone and I had a nice meal on arrival. Staff friendly and helpful.

Couldn't get my car through the archway due to other cars parked on the outside road. I have a long car. However parked all night on the road outside as the traffic restrictions don't start till 9am and I had left by then. The power on the tv and shower had been switched off in my room by a previous oppucant which was a nuisance as had to get someone to show me how to turn them on in the morning.

Nice and centrally located in Bridgwater. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Room was quite cold when I arrived but it warmed up once I switched on all the radiators.

Lovely hotel in a central location .we had a family room that had a sitting room , bed room and bathroom . Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the could not fault the staff i would give this hotel 10/10 and will be staying there again .
