Friendly staff, nice decor, lovely food what more could you ask for !
Service Comfortable bed Food was delicious
Breakfast was not included in the price The décor in the bedrooms Internet was intermittent There was a step into the bathroom that wasn't easy to see and I hurt myself - tripping going into the bathroom
Very pleasant stakk
lack of wifi connection
From the very first conversation the staff were considerat and understanding opening up the room early so I could get ready for a wedding I was attending, organising transport and making myself feel welcome.the room was as discribed cosy, clean and what turned out to be a quiet nights sleep in a very comfortable bed.I chose the cooked breakfast produce was fresh and plentiful.the bread is made local and well recommended.the property itself was set in delightful grounds and the house was well kept in line with its age and history.I would be very happy to recommend this quirky, friendly abode to anyone who wishes to stay in this lovely location and my thanks to all the staff for making me welcome.thomas Renvoize london..
Staff, food, accommodation
The hotel manager was very pleasant and helpful. The food was excellent.
Our room was at the front and because it was warm, we had the window open so had a lot of traffic noise.
quality of food, sourced locally was superb
Lack of bite in Irish Coffee - couldn't taste the alcohol at all !!
The menu and quality of the food including breakfast was very good. This was enhanced by exceptional service.
The bar and breakfast were a little expensive, more in-line with a hotel, particularly mixers.
People are nice but hotel is a bit stuffy which is normal if you use thick carpets and difficult to clean heavy curtains
Rip off cost
£175 for one night with no breakfast because Newma Key racing is on is exhorbitent
The food was excellent
The price of the food was just over what I would think was fair priced. Also, the menus were photocopied and didn't give the impression of a two roussette restaurant
Excellent hotel. Clean and comfortable friendly helpful staff with excellent restaurant and bar food. Style and design different and quirky. We loved it
fantastic atmosphere, fantastic food fantastic place
Great place to stay ..excellent homely feel to it.
Bar Food was excellent. Rooms were fun and quirky.
Expensive Breakfast, for the price should of been inclusive
Staff, food and character.
Chilly in room no heating available. Dirty cushions needed wash. Stair carpet needs a good hoover daily...not done at all. Room carpet not hoovred when we arrived. Tea tray inside tiny cupboard where you hang clothes. Towel rail but not on...no means to dry towels..remained wet.
The quirky design of the rooms ...
Felt the food was a bit pricey ...
Atmosphere Staff helpfulness/friendliness Food Comfort
Bottled water in room would be good
Liked the uniqueness of the room we stayed in. It was very clean and very cozy. Also liked the walk along the river to get into town.
The restaurant meal was satisfactory at best and a bit over priced. Staff seemed a bit clueless as to the menu and the specials and when I pointed out that we were overcharged a bit the duty manager seemed to make a bit of a drama about the fact that I pointed it out. Would stay again but would eat and drink elsewhere.
The Bull's inn is a nice self-contained complex. It is nice to be use the pub and restaurant area. The room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was modern.
I thought that overall the place was overpriced. The mattress is soft, and the decoration awkward. A burger in the bar costed us GBP14 which are steep London prices. I recognise we were in Newmarket. Odd that the heating was on full throttle. There was no need for that. I got a thing about energy consciousness, would be a bonus for me.
Room had fantastic shower and food in the pub was very good.
Carpet not hoovered, stairways were appalling. No soap in room which is a fairly basic requirement. Very old mattress on bed which was uncomfortable and sloping downhill - great for swollen ankles. It seems the owners concentrated too much on the 'quirkiness' and forgot the basics.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
All staff and owners eager to please, nothing too much trouble. Dining room and food excellent. Rooms refreshed regularly.
