Away on business so it was lovely to receive a nice warm welcome when I walked through the door. Had dinner in the bar area and the food was excellent! Although it was a Monday night when I stayed there wasn't a free table in the bar after 9pm and nearly everyone was dining. The staff were very attentive. Room was nice and clean and even hair straighteners were provided! Breakfast was superb and set me up for the day. Highly recommended by me, a sole female traveller!

Cheryl and Wayne were both extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. Very pleasant establishment; great food and a very comfortable bed! Delightful walk along the river starts just a hundred yards from the front door.

Very accomodating and personable staff. Homely, for a reasonably sized hotel. Comfortable. Covenient to main road but not noisy. In room facilities, tea and coffee a bit mean. Had to ask for more . Not a problem but better if hadn't needed to.

Staff were excellent. Extremely friendly and very helpful. Hotel decor is a bit rough at the edges if you look closely enough. Food was very good and the specials board was updated daily. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return. Appreciate it was Guineas weekend so prices were at their peak but I think £141 per night PLUS £9 per head breakfast was taking the michael! We have stayed in the Bedford Lodge in the heart of Newmarket which is top class and have paid similar prices. They need to review their pricing policy if they want to attract more guests. They are a pub(a good one) with rooms attached and their prices need to reflect this

The rustic charm and hotel restaurant. Too near the main road, very noisy. A fixed price buffet breakfast would have been a good idea. We were charged for bread at dinner The price of a tonic was the same price as a shot of vodka

We arrived early but the staff assisted in getting into our room much earlier as we had a wedding to attend. The rooms were fabulous, so intersting and well thought out. My mom is even stealing one design idea from her fabulous room. We ate in the pub brought 15 guests all had wonderful food at reasonable prices. We would definetly recommend this hotels location, in a lovely village close by to all other local attractions. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

The staff at The Olde Bull were so welcoming and friendly during our stay everyone had a smile on their face. The food was superb and the breakfast was well worth the money, they provide a very good selection, as well as the quality of the food being excellent. From start to finnish they could not do enough to make our stay a pleasant one and we look forward to returning.

The rooms and bathrooms were interestingly decorated and quite large which makes a change from the blandness of some chain hotels. The staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable and large and the bedding and pillows were not standard polyester. The room was equipped with everything you could want for a weekend stay, ie iron, hairdryer, straighteners and tea and coffee making facilities. The set up for breakfast was rather strange in that it was neither self-service or staffed adequately. Basically you could help yourself to toast and butter and preserves, and there was a basket of cereals but seemingly no milk. Coffee was in a vacuum jug, but was cool when served. I don't think you could help yourself to tea, but I didn't investigate. If you wanted a cooked breakfast (which was excellent) you had to catch the member of staff who seemed to be splitting his time between the breakfast room and the reception. Overall the breakfast was good, but the hotel needs to decide if it is self-service (and improve what is available) or waiter service.

I was greeted by a friendly member of staff and upgraded to a double room. I was travelling by myself but didn't feel awkward eating solo in the bar! The food was absolutely delicious.

Provided a real "inn" experience as well as a "pub" one. The modern bathrooms were an unexpected delight. The beds weren't that comfortable (mattresses). Water pressure in the "rain" showerhead was weak. The hand shower pressure was great.

This is a unique hotel , part of it being 500 years old. The owners were very welcoming and really helpful in recommending other hotels for our trip. The food was great and could not fault the service. We stayed in the Princess room which was extreme. Definitely recommend to other travellers

Plenty of parking, strong wi-fi signal in the room, staff was very nice, good room size and large double bed size for the price compared to other hotels. The breakfast was terrible. It was not included in the hotel price so we decided to go ahead and have it for convenience but it took the cook forever to make it even though nobody else was in the restaurant. The food arrived cold and it was pretty bad compared to other full English breakfasts we have had.

Staff are fantastic here, feel like you are part of the family as soon as you walk through the door, all of them extremely attentive, had fantastic food, although a bit disappointed they only offered the basic cracker for the 'cheese & biscuits'. That is our only disappointment though, would recommend a stay here if you fancy some time away with your partner, lovely surroundings, everything done to a high quality and room lovely to just chill in.

The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodations were adequate for say a weekend. However, any longer stay (at least in room #1) became claustrophobic. The ceiling plaster was starting to crack in room #1. A large piece of plaster had fallen in the main hall way. Too bad because the proprietors were very gracious and accommodating. We cut our stay short as we found our travel time to London was over an hour by car. By train from Cambridge was 55 minutes. Overall we agreed that for what it cost us for a car, we could have spent more on a hotel room in London and reduced our travel time tremendously. If you want a weekday or weekend getaway, the Olde Bull Inn Hotel is NOT a bad choice. The breakfast was very good. The chef provides a more than adequate plate of tasteful servings.
