Excellent shower/bathroom

lovely room, great location, warm welcome, clean, beautiful decor, fabulous staff. Faultless would definitely highly recommend.

A minor point.....breakfast service was poor, vegetarian option limited, and when we asked if we could suggest an alternative it was received rather badly !

Staff were impeccable and the cleanliness was excellent.

Overall a very pleasant stay, staff very friendly, food amazing.

The fact we had to leave

Everything, we stayed in the Daisy room. Good size and lovely bathroom. We had dinner in the pub which we enjoyed. Also my partner forgot his phone charger. We called to report this and they sent it in the post the next day. Excellent service!

The owners have done a great job of updating and decorating the property. Looks like they had a lot of fun doing it.

The hotel was in a good access location, very clean and modern. Staff were helpfull and freindly.

Even thou the bedrooms were of a Modern standerd they could have done with better lighting, especially in the bathroom. The food menu was a little bit over priced also.

The bar - good choice of drinks, including Real Ale. The staff were very friendly. The age of the premises and the sense of history.

Housekeeping was poor. Food was expensive compared with similar establishments. New Year staffing was reduced at our expense - yet the room rate was increased.

The room was beautifully designed. The food was outstanding. Every member of staff that we spoke to friendly and very helpful. The old building has loads of wonderful character. I would highly recommend a stay here.

At this price most hotels would include breakfast rather than charging extra.

Good looking building, room was a small double, but big enough for a couple. Very comfortable bed. Staff (and owners) very friendly and efficient. great place to stay if exploring Lakenheath and Wicken Fens.

Some noise from the nearby main road.

Liked the room, fresh and clean. The breakfast was locally sourced and was delicious.

Just a little more tlc, like the windows needed painting and water splashes on the skirting board from the shower was causing it to flake, they need a DIY man to attend to these jobs to make the room the very best it could be as it was a lovely room and was a shame that made it look tired.

A very helpful and welcoming host. The food was very good. If you need a place to stay in that neck of Suffolk, I would recommend it.

Away on business so it was lovely to receive a nice warm welcome when I walked through the door. Had dinner in the bar area and the food was excellent! Although it was a Monday night when I stayed there wasn't a free table in the bar after 9pm and nearly everyone was dining. The staff were very attentive. Room was nice and clean and even hair straighteners were provided! Breakfast was superb and set me up for the day. Highly recommended by me, a sole female traveller!

Cheryl and Wayne were both extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. Very pleasant establishment; great food and a very comfortable bed! Delightful walk along the river starts just a hundred yards from the front door.

Very accomodating and personable staff. Homely, for a reasonably sized hotel. Comfortable. Covenient to main road but not noisy.

In room facilities, tea and coffee a bit mean. Had to ask for more . Not a problem but better if hadn't needed to.

Staff were excellent. Extremely friendly and very helpful. Hotel decor is a bit rough at the edges if you look closely enough. Food was very good and the specials board was updated daily. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return. Appreciate it was Guineas weekend so prices were at their peak but I think £141 per night PLUS £9 per head breakfast was taking the michael! We have stayed in the Bedford Lodge in the heart of Newmarket which is top class and have paid similar prices. They need to review their pricing policy if they want to attract more guests. They are a pub(a good one) with rooms attached and their prices need to reflect this

Too near the main road, very noisy. A fixed price buffet breakfast would have been a good idea. We were charged for bread at dinner The price of a tonic was the same price as a shot of vodka
