Helpfulness of staff and olde worlde charm It was cold, but an electric fire was put in the room, and the staff apologised but weather was out of their control. It was expensive, and I would have liked breakfast to be included in the price.

This is a unique hotel , part of it being 500 years old. The owners were very welcoming and really helpful in recommending other hotels for our trip. The food was great and could not fault the service. We stayed in the Princess room which was extreme. Definitely recommend to other travellers

Well presented, nicely fitted rooms. Good bar and decent pub food. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Later dinners and earlier breakfasts would be better - dinner stops at 9 and breakfast starts at 7.30. An extra half hour either end of the day would be great....

Plenty of parking, strong wi-fi signal in the room, staff was very nice, good room size and large double bed size for the price compared to other hotels. The breakfast was terrible. It was not included in the hotel price so we decided to go ahead and have it for convenience but it took the cook forever to make it even though nobody else was in the restaurant. The food arrived cold and it was pretty bad compared to other full English breakfasts we have had.

Staff are fantastic here, feel like you are part of the family as soon as you walk through the door, all of them extremely attentive, had fantastic food, although a bit disappointed they only offered the basic cracker for the 'cheese & biscuits'. That is our only disappointment though, would recommend a stay here if you fancy some time away with your partner, lovely surroundings, everything done to a high quality and room lovely to just chill in.

The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodations were adequate for say a weekend. However, any longer stay (at least in room #1) became claustrophobic. The ceiling plaster was starting to crack in room #1. A large piece of plaster had fallen in the main hall way. Too bad because the proprietors were very gracious and accommodating. We cut our stay short as we found our travel time to London was over an hour by car. By train from Cambridge was 55 minutes. Overall we agreed that for what it cost us for a car, we could have spent more on a hotel room in London and reduced our travel time tremendously. If you want a weekday or weekend getaway, the Olde Bull Inn Hotel is NOT a bad choice. The breakfast was very good. The chef provides a more than adequate plate of tasteful servings.

The food was the only redeeming quality this hotel had to offer. Go there for breakfast or lunch, but don't spend the night! I had reserved a room for six nights, along with another room for my son for two nights as he was transferring from the local Air Force base. I was given a room with a floor that was not level, and in fact slanted so much to one side that I felt the blood rushing to my head as I lay in the bed. As I was battling jet lag from my overseas trip, I decided to accept the room as part of the charm of an old coaching inn. Unfortunately, I was so uncomfortable just being in that room overnight, that I decided to find other accomodations the following morning. The internet access was also unacceptable and unreliable, as the owners expected us to connect to a local unsecured line that didn't work. Upon being told of my cancellation, the owner offered to show me another room which I was not interested in because of the lack of internet and also my disappointment in being placed into such a ridiculous room for a six-night stay. The owner insisted on my paying not only for the two nights I stayed, but also for a third night that I did not use. Unbelievable! I left only because the accomodations were inadequate and not as advertised.

The staff were very accomodating with our requests, particularly with regard to requesting a change of room to a quieter location in the hotel. The hotel was closer to a busy main road than we had appreciated when booking.

Lovely little inn. Really friendly staff, great food and drink and a lovely room. A wonderfully relaxing night's stay... If you were being picky you could argue the nearby a11 makes a bit of a racket, but unless you're in a room facing the road you wouldn't notice.

Staff were very friendly and nothing too much trouble rooms tastefully decorated boutique style food excellent, all local produce, nice relaxed atmosphere Road noise from a14 when in room on our side of hotel didn't bother us too much but I can imagine it would for some people a bit overpriced and I think breakfast should be included for the rates they charge

“Excellent food and customer service and the hotel is in a lovely location and surroundings. We stayed in the Coach House which is attached to the hotel for one night and could'nt really fault it apart from some rising damp on one of inside walls. Excellent value for money, the staff were great.” Richard, Rotherham |
