The Oriental is one of Brightons original boutique guest houses. It is full of character and just 55 yards from the beach. The guesthouse has an excellent central location. Central Brighton, the Lanes and the Brighton Center are within a 5-minute walk. The Oriental has individual modern service and style. The Regency guesthouse has been highly recommended by the AA and recommended by, among others, Lonely Planet, Time Out and both The Guardian and Independent newspapers. Once home to the notorious Brighton Belle nightclub, the guesthouse has attracted many well-known guests. Hotel Rooms: 9

Very welcoming team run The Oriental, our room was a good size with luxury stylish decor and furniture. A minute from the beach in a very quiet road (bar the seagulls!). Thoroughly enjoyable stay.

As soon as we stepped through the door we knew we were going to be able to totally relax. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Decor was amazing and the whole place had a lovely warm vibe. We thoroughly recommend booking a massage through the hotel as this was heavenly. We can not recommend this hotel enough. Thank you and you will see us again soon.

I liked the style of the property. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was very nice. The description said toiletries were included in the room, but there was no conditioner, and there was a make up stain on one of the towels in the room.

Excellent staff and fantastic location. Room was a bit small if you were staying for more than one or two nights, but we only stayed for one so it was fine.

Great room and a great place to stay, I found the memory foam matteress comfy but my girl friend struggled to get comfy. Ben who was around during breakfast was very friendly and chatty so our morning started well, full English breakfast was both plentiful and good on the taste buds! Reall enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the oriental to anyone. Our room was at the top and it's stairs all the way just something to bear in mind.

The Oriental was clean, well decorated, staff were helpful, breakfast was yummy and the guesthouse was in a very convenient part of Brighton. Very busy at breakfast time - maybe worth going downstairs slightly earlier - it was a Monday morning and packed!

Good location, lovely breakfast. Ben is a very polite and helpful member of staff. VERY squeaky wood laminate floor, not much room around bed, sink in bedroom so floor got regularly wet, nowhere to put toothbrushes etc. Kettle flex was short & there was no convenient socket so had to plug it in and sit it on the floor to boil - not very safe. Underside of toilet seat was yellow. Not seasoned travellers but we would probably expect more from a 'luxury' room.

Disappointed with our room - didn't receive info that twin beds couldn't be moved together till after booking. Perfectly functional but not worth £85 a night! Would have liked option of continental breakfast & coffee very poor! Also let down with parking recommended and ended up having to use ncp at twice the price.

The position was excellent; very near to the beach but also to the centre of the town. The bus service was frequent and reliable. It might be a good idea to leave a bus schedule in the room for guests. The breakfast was delicious. The portions were generous and kept us going to the evening. The reception was good. I appreciated using Occitane products during the stay. The breakfast room was very pleasant but a bit crowded one morning. Most of the time there was plenty of space. The last morning there was nobody to collect our keys and we felt a bit awkward to just go without saying thank you and good bye. We did ring the bell. The room was fairly basic but clean. The most annoying was the creaking floor. The decoration of the room could have been cosier.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Oriental, our twin room was perfect & really homely - all the personal touches really made our stay and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was great, room was perfectly clean. It was also very handy that we could leave our bags before checking in and after so we didn't have to drag them around. We have absolutely no negative comments and in fact are going to look into visiting again for some christmas shopping later this year!

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean room and excellent breakfast. A very good find in Brighton. Only negative are the stairs. If you cannot manage walking up flights of stairs, this would not be suitable for you. Otherwise, this is a gem of a place to stay and would definitely return.

The hotel was conveniently located - it was very close to the seafront and the downtown area of Brighton. The room was reasonably priced and clean, quiet and comfortable. It was small but that was fine as it was a single room. The ensuite shower and toilet (no bath) was fine also. The breakfast was included and it was very adequate.
