The staff were warm friendly and helpful.
Good price, great room, great facilties and well located
nothing major really, bed wasn't the most comfortable but not bad enough to stop me sleeping.
Location and décor.
Windows didn't fit or close which was not ideal in January. Breakfast plentiful but basic.
Location and staff
Poor facilities, no plugs in basin and bath, provided on request. No hair drier, provided on request. Only 1 bedside table and lamp and 1 chair. No wi-fi in bedroom. Continental breakfast adequate. Overall poor value and would not recommend or return.
Good bus route . Peaceful for a much needed rest. Hot drink facilities in the room. Very good value for money. Very big rooms
Indian theme. Staff were nice.
Creaky bed and floor boards. Hard mattress. Carpet worn. Patch of enamel missing from bath. Room in nedd of TLC. Breakfast very ordinary - no frills.
Staff were so helpful nothing was too much trouble
High ceilings and indian furniture makes this hotel quite exciting and exotic. We were staying in Kipling room on the first floor and the wi-fi signal was OK. Definitely would recommend this hotel.
Despite there were two very powerfull heatings in a room, a bathroom was very cold (probably because a poor state of window there). But the room was nice and warm.
Large room with large en suite. Had both bath and shower. Clean and warm. The room had a beautiful canopy bed that was very comfortable.
No power point near a mirror for hair dryer or straighteners. No cooked breakfast. Check out 11:00am weekends!!
Clean and tidy plenty of hot water convenient for city good transport links. Staff helpful and friendly
Parking advertized as parking available, the parking was paid on street and maximum 4hrs no all day parking. hotel 5min walk from haymarket station so if u can leave your car at home that will be best.
The power shower was good. The sheets were clean and I had a really quiet room at the back bedroom which was also good. The Continental breakfast was served in a reception room at the front which had nice wooden tables and chairs but the breakfast was quite simple. There was some fresh fruit and good strong coffee which helped. The staff member on duty was friendly. The hotel looks attractive from the outside and I liked the big stone elephant in the garden.
I think this hotel is very basic (not sure it merits 3 stars). It is fine if you want somewhere cheap to stay. I did not get the same room that was advertised in the photo and found the room to be quite cold even with the radiator on at number 5. I was disappointed to find out that there was no Wi-Fi in the rooms as I had not noticed this when booking it. There was, what looked like, an oil stain on the duvet cover which was a bit off putting and new pillows are needed as they were flat and hard. I needed the rug from the cupboard as I was quite cold in the room. I went to have a bath but there was no bath plug so I just had a shower instead.
Building. Location. Breakfast - plenty Rickshaw and rest of themed items Helpful and friendly staff Free Wifi Parking round corner was free all weekend, from 1730 on Friday
Nothing I did not like
Good value for money nice room in a good location
Great welcome, spottlessly clean, lovely individual style, easy to find, great value.
Shower heat controls were a bit dicey. Didn't particularly impact overall stay, I would stay again.
location for my purpose -excellent
very cold day and on arrival the heating in the room wasn't on and it took a long time to warm the room up
The bed was comfortable.
The hotel was not really clean and need a refurbishment.
It was good for the price you pay. Outside the city enough were there is not a lot of noise, but close enough to walk comfortably.
I didn't like how the wifi barely came into the room and I was hoping for Indian theme since it was an Indian themed hotel.
We arrived just a couple of days before new year, you get what you pay for , all other hotels at this time of year in Edinburgh were very expensive compared to the Raj.
The carpets were really dirty and we had a young child with us. So not very good from a hygiene point of view.
The price was great and location ideal for the early morning flight next day. Helpful staff.
Bed covers. They need replacement.
Hotel is beautifully decorated in Indian style with nice pictures and furniture all fitting into this style. Also our room had a wonderful view of the sunrise over the hills.
Didn't like the breakfast very much- it's neither indian nor scottish, just some juice/muesli/bread/jam...had to go and get my sausages from a different place right after this breakfast!
Its at a convenient location, close to the airport and the city centre by bus and tram services. The staff was very friendly and helpful during the stay. I would suggest it to other travellers.
Location, short walk to Murrayfield. Last minute booking when other hotel let me down. Good substitute.
Lack of plugs in sink and bath. Carpets tired
Very helpful and friendly place
There was nothing I didn't like
No full English breakfast
