close to town and very nice staff breakfast good value for money
hard to find, and poor parking a lick of paint and new carpets would help, bed awful
Our room had just been recently renovated. Very nice decor. The rest of the public area needs the same. Breakfast was nice. The staff were friendly. Good value for money.
Just didn't feel comfortable in the accommodation.
The owner was nice and friendly. He let us leave earlier check-out date. It was very close to the train station.
The worst place I have ever stayed. Very outdated, not very clean, window was coming out to the laundry room. But the main problem the horrible smell of waste pipes from the bathroom, which we couldn't stand. After one sleepless night and poisoning smell, we decided to leave. Also all our clothes smelled of that waste afterwards, even though it was inside the luggage. The hotel needs a serious attention to make it liveable.
Location close to town center Private parking
Matras was very bad Electricity in room was not functioning completely No hot water after 1st shower
staff very helpful and freindly
décor in a poor state
Location was good. Staff were friendly and helpful.
It could do with a good paint. The shower curtain was absolutely filthy. The towels has stains on them. Had to go and buy towels as we would not use the ones provided. The floor boards had holes in them. Bed to short.
it was scruffy, dated, run down, ill kept
friendly staff and good location for city and hoylake
the closeness to town and railway station
the bed -needs an improved mattress
Being able to walk from Tge Ormonde into heart of city in 10 minutes; breakfast good; cleaner does her best in a very tired building.
Difficulty getting out of car park when leaving as manager had parked his car across narrow exit and had it up on bricks ready to work on it - knew we were leaving but was very slow to let us out. Otherwise he was very obliging. Again, this building is long past its best and the immediate surroundings are less than swish - though the sex shop opposite had an interesting window display commemorating the World Cup!
near hoylake for open golf and near city centre
FRIENDLY OWNER, WITH FRIENDLY WELL MANNERED CHILDREN. GREAT LOCATION. GOOD PRICE FOR LOCATION.
Everything really the owner couldn't have been more helpful. Really nice guy. I had booked a double room on the net for 45pounds as I thought that was the only one available he put me in a single for 30 pounds to be far. Really nice place and chilled
Nothing all good :)
The owner is very friendly and helpful, nice person. Good size room and the free Wi-Fi was a bonus.
My room was literally above the B road, which mean I can hear every single car that whiz pass, as a result didn't sleep well. Not easy to find the Guest house car park on arrival.
The manager was both friendly and helpful.
The whole place is thoroughly run down and needs a great deal of money spent on it. Even though it was cheap, we would never stay there again.
Dirty room Dirty linen Someone else's socks in the bed!! Sanitary wrappers on the bathroom floor Had to clean the shower before using Holes in the floorboards Everywhere smelt of cigarette smoke Dark and dingy corridors Would not recommend this hotel to anyone
2 mins from Chester station and within 5 of the city centre
Whilst out room was clean the whole place desperately needs a refurb!
This is how budget B&B used to be, before Premier Inn came allong and hermodginised everything. The Ormond provides you with everything you need with no frills and no nonesense. You are given a room key and a front door key and essentially left to your own devices.
If you're trying to impress a new girlsfriend and plan on spending alot of time in your room, then you might be dissappointed. but if you acctually plan on having a day/night out in chester, and are just looking for somewhere to sleep, for £40.00 you can't go wrong.
Quiet location, toaster and kettle in communal area and given own key so could return at any time.
Room damp and dingy and needed redecorating.
Good English breakfast. Good value for money - no frills - you get what you pay for!
The noise of an extractor fan running all night which eventually switched off at 7.00am. I was not shown the tea and coffee making arrangements in the downstairs lounge on arrival and only found them when going to breakfast.
location and parking
Old chair in reception full of grime! floor board missing on landing!place very in need of decorating, bedding not been ironed, ect
The place was dirty, stank of damp, there was no where to put your clothes as none of the rooms had draws or wardrobes. There was only one towel in the rooms including the family room. There were not facilities in the rooms to make tea or coffee as you had to go down to reception and make them and then take back to your room which you end up spilling as there were holes in the floor that you would trip on. The beds were very old and had mix match duvet cover and pillow covers on and they you felt like the bed was going to brake if you moved. The beds didn't even have mattress protectors on. The showers and toilets were dirty and grubby. There was not choice for breakfast and on our second day we couldn't have breakfast as there oven broke and they couldn't even offer you toast. They make you pay when you first get there so if I hadn't already paid I would of moved out and paid to stay somewhere else so I would NOT recommend anyone to stay they and I don't think they should even be able to open until they get the place gutted. I can definitely say I would never ever go back there and I wouldn't even allow my dog to stay there as it's that bad. Trash needs demolished is probably the best thing I could say about the place
Cooker breaking down!
The car park. The location, easy access to the city. The no fuss attitude. The value for money.
