The staff were lovely and friendly. Happy for us to go for breakfast a few minutes late so could take luggage to the car.
Room was freezing! Bed was uncomfortable, so terrible sleep. Too late to get a shower when eventually fell asleep- staff helpfully woke us by knocking on the door (not requested), so can't comment on shower facilities- couldn't use them, as no time. No leeway on check out. Toilet moved. Only one glass in the bathroom. No bathroom mirror. Ripped hand towel. Car park hard to find. Had to go across the road for breakfast, so can't recommend kitchen facilities. Then had to walk all the way round to get back to the car as they locked the hotel doors!
The location was excellent in 5-7 minutes walk I was right in the centre of the city.
Hotel run down. Needs major refurbish. There was a lot of evidence of damp in the property and the rooms were old and shabby. The car park was a bonus but very small and tight.
damp on 2 walls and radiator not working fully
Location brill, value for money. Lady was lovely. Defo stay again if went Chester
Friendliness of the staff, good food, handy location, car park.
Poor decorations, squeaky bed, heating on full blast in bedroom all night.
The host was very friendly
The room was very dirty, tiles missing from above toilet. Very old fashioned decor the room smelt of damp. The bed was so hard we couldn't sleep on it. Shower curtain was dirty and moldy same as the shower. Plugs not in good location had to boil kettle on the floor which is not ideal. Would not recommend sorry
Friendly staff and a great location.Within walking distance of the City.Pretty basic and is reflected in the price.
Location was good, friendly owner and helpful
While the place was satisfactory, it does need some general tidying up, ie, decorating
hotel small, wonderful ,near centre of the town, so there was not fas to everywhere, good localizatin of this hotel for satying during Rally of WRC in Deecide near Queens Ferry
Only 10 mins from city centre and 5 mins from Mecca Bingo ideal - no bar at the Ormonde but plenty of friendly pubs around the area. Friendly staff and lovely breakfast well worth the money.
I didn't sleep very well as the room was very cold and the only window that would open didn't fully close properly. The whole property could do with a complete refurbishment.
Staff friendly, allowed us to book in early and park up. For the cost it was value for money and very close to city centre. Very clean but rather shabby and many of facilities in need of upgrade.
Ordered breakfast but person supposed to be cooking never came. Went into city centre and ate as didn't want to waste any more time.
central to railway station - quiet - well run - excellent breakfast - standard accommodation.
Good access to city centre
Breakfast provided in local cafe, only a 'fry-up' available.
Warm welcome, good quiet room with ensuite shower, tea and coffee with kettle, tv - good value for the price. - You cross the road to the "First Class" café for breakfast which is a good arrangement.
I was cold the first night, in fact the room was cold on both nights, but they gave me an extra blanket for the second night. I would have liked some sort of towel rail and shelf in the bathroom and a chair in the room.
Wasn't happy with my stay. Couldn't sleep due to a local bar playing loud music. In the morning I couldn't sleep in due to staff outside my room talking loudly. Inconsiderate. I also could hear a loud humming from some kind of generator or something, also meaning I couldn't sleep in. Room was clean, but old fashioned and depressing. It had a bar across the wall that lit the whole room, with a badly plastered wall. Good points? Close to train station.
Close to train station, clean, walking distance to town centre.
Seemed like a fine place, central location and owner was friendly.
Owner/manager very pleasant and helpful. Price very reasonable.
My single room was in the cottage next door, so I cannot comment on rooms in the main building. My room was up a steep narrow stair. It had one double iron and brass bed, with no room either side for a bedside table or light. Paintwork round windows was peeling and grubby, carpet was stained, and a tile missing from the shower. Of course the price was cheap and you get what you pay for; but the only work I can find to fit this accommodation is "grotty". Breakfast was a basic fry-up and provided in a cafe over the road.
Would of been better off buying a cardboard box and sleeping in it in the town centre. Would of been cleaner and safer,or even getting arrested and spending the night in a police cell would of been a better option.
No heating in my room it was freezing. The window was broken and would not shut.apart from that ..it wasn't too bad..:0/
checking out was the best bit of our stay
It was filthy, it stank, the floor was sticky and black, the bedclothes were unwashed. We could not use the bathroom as it was so disgusing and my colleague slept in his clothes. I was more fortunate, i had my sleeping bag so was able to protect myself from the bedding in that. It is run down, disrebutable, flea bitten and grim. Never stay here, unless you have to because you have been bailed here, or if you like squalor.
The location was handy near the city centre for access to shops and public houses. The room was cheaply priced and had a shower room.
Breakfast was not available due to staff illness, although I was given a discount for the inconvenience. The shower room had damp on the ceiling, the windows had a lot of condensation on them. No member of staff came into the room to change the towels or replace the tissue paper. There was no television and the bed di not have sufficient linen, just a duvet with cover nothing else. It would be cold in winter.
shower didn't work
Bed sheets dirty and damp no hot wate. Cups dirty not cleaned. Room had not been been cleaned overall very disgusted at level of cleaning I didn't even sleep in the bed.
It is very close to the centre.
The room was awful but the worst is that the window didn´t close well and the heater was not working, so when we arrived to the room at night, it was like a freezer.
We hated EVERYTHING about this hotel. It's dirty, it's damp. Cigarette butts everywhere. Carpet full of stains. The setting of a horror film. We left and went to another hotel, that's how bad it was. We could not stop scratching after sleeping in those beds. A place of such sub-standard should not be in booking.com. You can find much better rooms for similar price at premier inn and holiday inn and at least they are clean. I can, and will do basic but this place has serious problems with cleanliness and facilities. In four words: do not go there!
