Score from 579 reviews Very good
The continental breakfast, helpful staff, and friendly atmosphere.
The uncomfortable bed and pillows, the lack of parking facilities (only 3 spaces were available for guests), and the cramped shower.
- clean - upgraded to superior room - good breakfast
Very quiet and pleasant neighboring, very good location (10m walk to railway station). Really big and comfortable bed. The hotel owner is friendly and caring. We were very much satisfied.
Our hostess was friendly and very helpful as it was our first time in Oxford. She treated us like family. We had a very nice and comfortable room and a good breakfast. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling through Oxford.
This small guest house is perfectly located close to the station and city center, very good value for money. Warm environment and lovely rooms, the hotel owners are amazing people who help you if needed with any questions and take care of you all the time making your staying in Osney Arms full of the warmest memories. When visiting Oxford next time, we will definitly stay in Osney Arms.
Good breakfast and very kind hospitality.
Very friendly and accommodating Excellent continental breakfast
Spotless clean, modern and staff that really cares about their guests!
Walking distance from the train station, clean, well furnished room with a great King size bed that was super comfy, friendly staff, more than willing to help with additional bits and pieces (e.g. bus times) and was very flexible with check in/out times. Don't be fooled by the slightly run-down looking exterior, it is modern and well kept inside.
Our room was a bit small (mostly due to the king size bed), which wasn't very convenient for when we were changing/getting ready for the wedding we attended but very comfortable otherwise. The door on the shower was a bit temperamental but it seems to be fairly recently renovated so this may be getting fixed in the near future. Generally a bit pricey for our budget but very good deal compared to standard Oxford prices seemingly.
Nice to be offered a cup of tea or coffee on arrival. Helped with my luggage...which was good, because my room was right at the top. Impressed by breakfast being served 'til 9.30. Simon was very helpful in many ways...even to putting my Wifi password into my IPad for me. Good to have a nice Christian atmosphere. A continental breakfast was on offer with a good choice. The hostess tray was refilled each day....with an ample supply of tea, coffee sugar and milks (not always so generous in other places that I have stayed at! ) thank you for a good experience of hospitality Simon.
Only that the room was right at the top of a long staircase.
The rooms were modern and clean. Convenient for city centre (and station).
Traffic noise nearly all night in ground floor room at the front next to narrow but busy road- very difficult to sleep. Parking almost non-existent, with residents only parking in nearby streets. Narrow bed. Expensive considering drawbacks, and only a continental breakfast.
The Room The Location The Breakfast The Staff
Room got hot at night (but we were warned by staff)
The place is newly refurbished and all the facilities are in excellent condition. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful especially in what to do around you and the fastest way of getting where you need to go. The free Wi-Fi and the TV in the room also mean it's easy and convenient to work and relax.
The free breakfast is terrible and isn't even worth your time. Stale cornflakes, and a mediocre offering of bread and croissants.
Very pleasant atmosphere and nice owner
For £115 a night, to have no shower (just a bath with no plug), very cramped loft room, no cooked breakfast, is not really a good deal
small room very noisy traffic crampted
location, friendly landlady
rooms too small
A very pleasant owner, welcoming atmosphere, stayed for one night only but I find it's a good value for money
Comfy beds Great breakfast
No shower attachment over bath as promised
Staff we're very helpful. Lovely room, newly furnished.
extremely overpriced. unfriendly welcome. small, depressing room, no parking and difficult to park on nearby streets. I have stayed in nicer guest houses in much better locations for half the price
excellent! the bed was the most comfortable one I have ever tried!
The complimentary breakfast. Comfortable bed.
It was extremely hot and no way of opening windows. It was very noisy especially guests coming and going around 4am. No electric socket adjacent to mirror, to aid hair drying.
location and friendliness of staff. comfortable bed
shower head was too big for such a small shower unit and it leaked - would have been better if there was an adjustable shower head that could also be hand held, if you wanted. for the price it would have been good to have been offered a cooked breakfast.
The staff were very friendly and it is a very short walk from the station and then into town so the location is excellent. The place was clean and not long ago reconstructed.
I had the bedroom in the eaves and for anyone over 6 feet tall it is not very practical. The bathroom for this room is shared and while there is a nice tub, there is neither a shower head not a plug so using it required some contortionism. I didn't see the other rooms so can't comment about them.
It was clean and close to the middle of Oxford, Short 10 min walk.
Just the usual B& B things, like small rooms and slightly over-enthusiastic host.
