The leisure facilities, the grounds, the relaxed atmosphere, peace and quiet although the hotel was probably only 50% occupied, the food was of a very high standard, cooked breakfast to order and an excellent choice for the evening meal The bed in our room was too soft for our liking, thought the drinks were a little to pricey, although taken as a package overall it still represented good value for money |

The food was outstanding also the waiters and waitresses The bathroom in the hotel could have been cleaner. There was mold behind the bath taps and the shower head could have been cleaner, especially as my husband used to work for a major airline and was in charge of making sure there was no legionella on site. |

Dining experience was always very good with good menu and service. Ambiance was excellent and public rooms very welcoming and comfortable. Celebration flowers had been ordered and paid for through the hotel and were to have been placed in the appropriate room. However they were ungraciously handed to us in a cardboard box over the counter when checking in. Took the edge off the surprise somewhat! |

I found the service very good especially in the restaurant, where the waiters and waitresses carried out their work with a friendly smile |

A difficult hotel to review - the rooms are stuck in a time warp - 1950's - very basic, with dreadful bathrooms. The reception staff are just average and very slow to deal with requests. However, the food is excellent, the dining room staff way above average and this compensates for the poor decor and standard. |

Leaving It was well over priced and felt that I had been ripped off. The standard room is small and looks like it hasn't been decorated since the 1970's. To spend over one hundred pounds on a room where the paint is peeling off the skirting, where there are cracked tiles in the bathroom with grout missing from the joints and one of the windows (single glazed) has a crack in, is daylight robbery in my opinion. I will never stay there again and would never recommend it. |

Service was to a very high standard, very good value for money on a break. En-suite facilities very clean but need upgrading in the room we stayed in. |

The Palace Hotel has friendly, helpful staff, comfortable accomodation good food, good service and plenty of parking spaces. The single bedroom was somewhat on the small side and an unimpressive view. |

Friendly and helpful staff particularly in the Restaurant - my husband is disabled and his requirements were most helpfully recognised. The only comment would be the paucity of disabled parking facilities available. There appeared to only one small one - since my husband's disability (he has a blue disabled permit) affects the bending of his leg and necessitates opening the card door quite widely, and the normal parking space can prove difficult for him. |

hotel and staff were very good. However did have problems initially with allocated room, due to insect infestation. this was upgraded to a better room, but with an erxtra charge, as Hotel is being refurbished. waiter staff very attentive, and food excellent. as indicated, insect infestation, and only 1 power point sites in rooms. |

It was a very nice, clean and pleasant hotel but due to the distance from the town centre and the comments made in next box we probably would not stay again. This is not a reflection on the hotel itself but on what our requirements were at the time. Lack of food facilities other than the main restaurant or room service. It would have been nice to be able to get bar snacks/meals during the evening as an alternative to the restauruant |

The food was the best quality of this hotel as the menu for dinner was imaginative and gourmet. The large rooms downstairs, inlcuding lounge and restaurant, were well decorated, with a beautiful view at the back onto the golf course. Very relaxing to look at and admire. My room was rather tired in decor, the lighting was poor, the bed was hard, the kettle didn't work and the temperature was very cold - although they did bring a heater when I said how cold I was. Dirty windows added to the gloom! This was a single room so I assumed the double rooms were better as that is usually the case! |

My room was filthy, it had not been dusted for some time. I ordered a newspaper that did'nt arrive. I felt that because I had booked a single room, I was treated like a second class citizen. Overall a poor experience. |

The gardens are stunning and are good to relax and walk in. The golf course is not up to much and is definitley not to champoinship standard I thought the outside pool needed some attention. |
