Known for its sandy beaches and good nightlife, Bournemouth is a popular seaside resort on the Dorset coast between Poole and Christchurch.
The town is centred on the Bourne River, running downhill towards the sea by Bournemouth Pier. This pier looks back towards a promenade lined with beach huts at the foot of grassy cliffs. The promenade continues west to Poole, while a road goes east to neighbouring Boscombe, where anglers often fish from its pier. Overlooking it is a clifftop road housing some Bournemouth hotels with sea views.
Booking.com also offers hotels near the BIC – Bournemouth International Centre in the West Cliff area. This convention centre and music venue is a short walk from the Art Deco Pavilion Theatre, located next to the Lower Gardens. In this popular city park is the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered hot air balloon that offers far-reaching views.
At the park’s top end the river disappears under a large square, then emerges in the Central Gardens. Overlooking these gardens is the Victorian town hall, which used to be one of several spa hotels in Bournemouth. Opposite is a Grade I-listed church, and St Peter’s Church has the grave of Mary Shelley, author of ‘Frankenstein’.

Bournemouth is beautiful place to visit. From the beautiful golden beaches to the food and places to visit ie Sanbanks, Swanage, Poole etc. I would recommend it has a place to stay. In the summer, it is amazing.

We only stayed one full day, and I will say there is a lot to see and do so a couple days is reccomended. The beach was nice, with some great restaurants and options for bars in town. There are a wide range of high street stores and some individual shops to be found in the shopping area. There’s an extensive choice when it comes to restaurants. Constantly harassed by homeless and intoxicated people asking for money and following you when you tell them no. Did not feel safe at night when out and about. Prices in bars were not far off that in London . So disappointed as everything was unjustly expensive and is the reason my partner and I definitely wont be returning to Bournemouth....AAnonymous

The staff is wonderful and they resolved our little crisis before departure, and even gave us a ride to the train station to make sure we do not miss our train that was connected to an international flight. Wonderful people in a gorgeous town. Ventana restaurant has great food and a nice atmosphere. Bournemouth is a pleasant, lively English riviera with cafes, parks and live music, and we had a great stay at Cumberland.

We really enjoyed our stay!

The air con was lovely and desperately needed for those stuffy nights. This hotel is perfectly located right in the city centre . There’s a beautiful park just below the hotel where you can walk all the way to Bournemouth Pier. The beach is 10 minutes walk and all the restaurants and bars are 3 minutes walk from the hotel. We are definitely looking to book again in August.
