Room 104 had quite a lot of noise from passing trains
Hotel gave the impression of becoming run down internally. On our arrival at approx 1800hrs the reception area was totally deserted and we had to look for someone to attend to us. The overall impression was cheerless.
Room warm and clean, bed comfortable. Quiet.
Cold plate for cooked breakfast. (08.40)
I was attending a convention in the Hotel. The venue and the bar are fine
'Faded Glory' would be an expression that springs to mind if it wasn't for the fact that the glory is so faded it's virtually transparent. The rooms are tired, way past their best, functional but not pleasant. Their was a bath with no tap, a shower attachement that fell off the wall and the place hasn't been decorated since about 1978. The breakfast is way below the standard of the worst motorway service station. I had a slice of toast, made my excuses and left
Location - close to Tynemouth
Room was damp and cold. There was a large damp patch on the wall. The hot water in the bathroom was pale yellow. The windows dripped with condensation
Being able to stay at the venue was important to me
Made a very late booking, but nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were quiet, warm and comfortable and staff were very helpful.
Although there were people on the office behind reception we waited 5 minutes to be checked in. There was no queue. The double bed was 2 singles pushed together with different thickness of mattresses. The paint was peeling off the ceiling. Lamp shades hanging off. Waited 25 10 minutes at the bar following lunchtime to get a coffee. No staff or service, only the man working on the carvery who did not even acknowledge us. By far the worst hotel and service I have experienced. I will definitely not return or recommend
No Hot water . No heating. A limited waiter service. Breakfast had been standing a while. 1 cup tea one coffee each. Shoddy workmanship to hotel stayed in superior room dread to think what other rooms were like bed springs kept making noise as you moved had the worst nights sleep felt like a zombie when awake next morning. Electrics dangerous and walls outside. Took money up front asked to see mananger but no one was available. Water tepid when available limited on at certain times.
noisy corridor, floor boards need seriously attending to. Breakfast finishes at 9. No hot water for a shower. Shower not powerful enough Only 1 bottle of Budweiser.
Sea view, great location, lovely building setting..staff friendly and relaxed.
Hotel needs updating, furnishings shabby, windows had condensation..shame when hotel could be beautiful to complement the fabulous location.
The parts that have been refurbished since our last visit are fine and a great improvement. When the rest is tidied up it will make a fine venue.
Upstairs areas are quite tatty and need sorting out.
Evening meal was superb, I had tuna steak and the food was excellent. Basic room and hotel but nice and staff helpful, decent value. Good view from room.
Breakfast was a buffet and from what was left, you would not want to eat the leftovers, not a nice breakfast
Beds uncomfy Bathroom falling apart Old soap Electrics hanging
Barman was hopeless, room was shabby, needs a lot of money spent on it,before I will return.
Nice looking and view to die for over the sea.
No hot water! Stayed for 3 nights arriving late and leaving early so there was no staff to speak to about the water temp. Just off cold at 5am and again at 10pm!
I was visiting family and came with my mum who is disabled. I Asked for a disabled room we was put at the other side of the hotel, way too far for a disabled lady to walk. Then the room was right next to a railway line, it shook the room and went past every 20mins. We didn't get a lot off sleep!! In the morning we went down to breakfast no one there to greet us no menus either. Toaster didnt work, there was no juice or milk for cereal. Overall poor.
Double room when booked single!
Out of date decor, cold room, terrible shower, worst hotel I've stayed in! Never again!
The place is falling apart at the seams. The corridor floorboards creak, our door lock was halfbroken. I don't think the kitchen would pass an environmental inspection. I asked for a refund which was refused. Booking.com should remove it from its books.
the location was nice, the window view was good and the pathroom
heater was not working and staff enter the room without any permission. Also, the room was tiny.
Lovely location and the room was nicely decorated
General areas need a little attention - could do with updating
Location Beds Breakfast
Location Staff were helpful Breakfast was decent Good price for a last minute booking
Hotel is a little tired - rooms need redecorating as do corridors. Facilities pretty basic in the room
Friendly staff, bar, view of the sea
The hotel breakfast was lovely couldn't fault it, staff were pleasant and I loved the location.
Room was unclean, dated, wires hanging out of walls. I had a shower and the whole thing came off in my hand, door handle didn't work, tele nearly hanging off the wall, I was devastated, I complained and was told I got what I paid for!!
