The Park Hotel  

The staff, particularly the young lady in the bar, were all very pleasant. The room was a little cool and we would have liked some nice fluffy dressing gowns. The beds were excellent as was the bathroom

Lack of dressing gowns/robes we would have liked an extra blanket which I expect if we had asked someone would have found us one.

Well situated in Barnstaple, friendly staff.

Restaurant poor atmosphere and food neither well prepared or presented

None of the menus in this and at least one other in this group identified nut or egg intolerance foods - so much so it served nuts in a dessert you would'nt have expected it

The garden rooms were great,as I could come and go 24 hours a day,usefull when on call,also meals were good value for residents

Not much in the way of hotel facilities

Very friendly staff who were able to offer good advice.

We booked a superior room (101), the size and facilities were very good, but beware a "party night" it was like living in a drum. Also for such a good room the walls to our neighbours seemed quite thin.

No access to the accommodation by lift for the elderly or disabled

Room was very comfortable and the bathroom looked like it had recently been refurbished to a high standard.

Had to query bill, as the cost of breakfast had not been included. Then found that a further amount (£29) had also been debited to my account. On phoning hotel, they immediately advised they would rectify the error and apologised. As we were travelling with 2 other couples, I am concerned that their accounts may also be incorrectly debited, so have advised them to check their bank statements.

I stayed for 4 nights, in a small single room, which was perfectly adequate for me. It was clean, and warm. I didn't have the hotel breakfast so I can't comment on that.

The location of the hotel was excellent as was the room, staff and food. It was definately one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in

The staff were very good, the hotel was excellent value for money, and the food above average.

The location was a problem due to the tortuous one way system in Barnstaple and lack of adequate road signs.

Very clean and fairly well organised, fair price for the accommodation. Very good restaurant and great breakfasts.

Being a business traveler the internet (BT openzone) was dire, just drops off for no reason a little annoying when trying to catch up on emails.

When booking a king bed we didn't expect two single beds joined together which made it very uncomfortable when sleeping

Simple, good accomodation at a reasonable price, easy walk into town, excellent breakfast with superb staff. All that we expected from the Brend family.

Nothing

Not told until after check in that the bar and restraint were closed and we would have to go elsewhere. Poor Internet coverage in bedroom told that it was due to weather. Staff not interested about complaint at check out from hotel on the whole not what I am used to whilst in hotels I stay in at least four a week and have never been told that all service was un available. Very poor customer service.

Room and bathroom were gleaming. Quiet, very little noise from corridor. Room warm.

No Marmite! Bed tucked in too tightly, and one blanket not as warm as a quilt would have been. Difficult to find a parking space Sat night, a few people using 2 spaces for 1 car.

The location of this hotel was good as a base for Barnstaple and the surrounding areas. The park opposite the hotel is quite nice too, especially if you go through the park onto the other side of the river. Staff service was good - polite, prompt, and thorough.

That the superior king size bed is just two singles zipped together, with a noticeable dip in between the two mattresses. We did mention this to the hotel staff on arrival, and they did offer us another non king size room, but we decided not to take up the offer.

Nothing, I just hope that the price for the room doesnt become silly as the busier season arrives. I like to use a decent hotel when staying on business but have to work within a budget

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, one of the high points of the stay. The food was excellent, the rooms comfortable and spacious, the facilities available were great if you choose to use them.

The restaurant provided excellent cuisine, and all the staff very very friendly and extremely helpful.

My mother had a slight fall during our stay. The staff were very attentive and followed all correct procedures. Even after the event they were very concerned about her welfare and asked after her at every opportunity. Great staff

Friendly staff always willing to help. location was good just a short walk from the town centre. food was well cooked and well presented.good and free parking and the hotel itself was well presented and clean. this was my first stay at this hotel and i am hoping it will not be my last.
