room bit small needs updating heating did not work but staff immediately gave a portable radiator to use
lovely hotel spacious lounges etc good value for money
I stayed at the Parkbury Hotel for three nights. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly, the room was nice and the breakfast very fast and good. The hotel is conveniently located between the station and the beach and has a beautiful garden. Great value for money! Thank you very much!
There's a box in reception to leave your room key when you go out for the day, when we returned at about 8 o'clock,no one was about,so I had to go into the office to get our key.
Good location, handy for station, buses, beach and shops.
Comfortable & quite. very friendly staff . clean very good breakfast.
Shower did not work in room 21 no hot water possible.
Comfortable and quiet staff jolly and helpful.
Could do with WI-fi in all rooms.
friendly staff and clean.
We had an evening meal that was dreadful. The top of the 'crumble' was like a piece of plastic that I held up and swung to demonstrate to staff. All food was of the cheapest quality possible and staff must feel embarrassed to serve it to guests. It was also a great shame that such a beautiful building was not being maintained to a reasonable standard - it needed new furniture, redecoration and general tlc.
Beautiful grounds and building
Being able to relax quietly when I wished, with staff available to help if needed,
There was only 1 room in the public area where wi fi was accessible.
The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and polite. Easy to get into town.
About cleaning service and the poor information provide for the management
I like the bar and concept of place himself
tiny rooms and bathrooms, narrow corridor, not good value for money. sandown is not a great holiday location, so there's no reasson for a miniscule double room to cost £60.00
garden, location, staff attitude, the clever use of a nautical theme to complement the small sizes of the rooms and corridors
No wifi which was annoying as coverage on mobile phones is poor in hotel.
Good location near to train station and short walk to sea-side
The shower wasn't very good
Very clean hotel, Staff were very friendly and helpful.
1. Very small rooms 2. Shower is not great, no shampoo/ hair drier provided
1. Decent location 2. Value for money
The shower took 20 minutes to become hot (despite the notice warning of scalding), and the cubicle had nowhere to put shampoo, soap, etc., except the floor. Our towels were not replaced, so that we had to use wet towels on the second day (there was nowhere to hang bath towels to dry). The radiator in the room did not work, and the room was cold. The breakfast was edible, but not good quality.
Staff were friendly, and everything was clean.
Property in desperate need of modernisation inside decor better suited to the Fawlty Towers era. No hot water in first room we were allocated but we're given another which had hot water but bath only big enough for a dwarf.
Mattress was like sleeping on just springs. Manager knew nothing about fire alarm procedures. No biscuits in your room and you pay a lot of money for it. 2230 was too late for a hot drink from the bar!!
Our stay was only for one night.
Greeting was poor. The hotel; though pretty clean, is in huge need of an update. When we stayed (father/son), there were a fair size group also staying. No problems there in itself; other than on the second day of our 3 night stay, we were largely ignored for breakfast service.
The hotel staff were mostly very friendly and helpful. For the price I guess it represents good value for money
Car park very small and awkward for manoeuvering.
Friendly, helpful staff
medical recall back home meant having to shorten enjoyable stay
We think we had the best room in the hotel! large, comfortable with a balcony The breakfast was amazing. Plenty of variety and the best service we have ever encountered
The hotel is quite dated, but that is reflected in the price. The breakfast was really good as was the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel. No complaints.
No hot water had to change rooms also had to look for staff not always around.
friendly service and comfortable accommodation.
