The breakfast choices were superb, and the general ambiance of social areas, lounges etc, were lovely, with the 30·s furnishings. The matresses, were old and well worn, you could actually feel the springs coming through. The towels were not changed during our 4 day stay, which meant we were re-using wet towels. There is no lift up to the accomdating rooms, so if you are elderly or, disabled, you would have to be sure, to reserve rooms on the ground floor, otherwise dragging your luggage up narrow staircases.

The staff were wonderful with nothing too much trouble. It was warm and comfortable. The breakfast was good although not all menu items were available. All and any problems were resolved by the staff quickly and efficiently. Day One. No hot water in the room- boilers had been switched off by someone. No Earl Grey tea at breakfast. Day two. Loads of hot water but no cold water again made it impossible to shower. Still no Earl Grey Tea. Day Three. Hot and cold water now and Earl Grey Tea with breakfast! Was a shame to leave when everything was working but you tend to wonder how long it will be before something else goes wrong

The staff at the hotel looked after me really well, service was great and I would stay there again. You tend to need a car to get around the island but I guess this is the same for many hotels.

The look of this hotel looked nice outside ? Due to the fact the first hotel we booked had burnt down? Ryde castle we had to book somewhere else to stay? Our room should of been a double room. This in fact was a single room with two single beds pushed together? The shower in bath room was not working and hanging off the wall. It needed a clean. The carpet in bed room needed a clean. And housekeepers should use sheets that have been ironed? This isnt a place I would stay again? It is in much need of a up date very out dated

Location of the hotel is fantastic The mattress stink, the cleanness of the room was very poor, dust every where, the wash area was full of hair, we only didn't ask for our money back because we had an infant with us.

The Parkbury Hotel has quite a good location just a few streets away from Sandown seafront. The reception area looks fantastic as all the wood panelling is from a Liner ship ,the Aquitania, which was built after the Titanic and served in 2 world wars. There is a Nautical theme throughout the hotel. The gardens at the front are very well kept and attractive. The staff were extremely pleasant, and the breakfast was all served to order and just right. The car park of the Hotel is quite small, but there is parking in the side street alongside. The bed we had was uncomfortable, due to the fairly thin matress which didnt support well enough. The furniture is a bit dated but not worn out as such. The bath panel was cracked and the bathroom sink light had a broken on/off switch. For the amount we paid it is very good value, for a bit more they could upgrade their rooms.

Excellent service from the staff. Nothing was to much trouble It was a bit dated and in need of modernisation but I rather suspect that was reflected in the price.

The woman doing breakfast was rushed off her feet but had a goos sense of humour. The room was very dated and shabby (obviously not like the online pictures). The whole hotel had a strange smell, a mixture of damp and old people.
