this hotel should be taken off all booking sites, we arrived to a deserted hotel, no staff what so ever. freezing cold, no food, no breakfast.
The hotel was shut when we arrived at 18:00. We spen 30 minutes trying to get in and failed as no one was there. Fortunately we managed to find lodgings in a B&B around the corner.
I arrived at 9pm to check in. I found that the bar area was in darkness. Not a problem, it said that hotel guests should use the door around the side. The side door was locked, and nobody responded to the bell. There was a note saying that if there was no response, ring the number stated. I rang the number and a lady answered. After explaining that I had just arrived and would like to check in, she shouted to someone else that "someone has just arrived at the peel and wants to check in". My call was then promptly cut off. I tried to call again multiple times but every time no-one answered. After waiting for 30 minutes no-one arrived to let me in, so I had to find an alternative hotel and travel there instead. The Peel hotel was an utter joke.
470GBP was credited for my room which costs 50GBP only. We have not done any damages to the property and The Peel hotel is most poorest hotel that I've ever went to. There was no one to welcome us, we had to ring the contact number 20 times to respond, that delayed around 1 hour. There was no further service that was provided and no one was available at the hotel to check us out. No Breakfast as promised. No water for taking bath. Completely Dirty bed & pillow. The worst thing was no one was available in the hotel neither on the contact number to ask queries or raise a concern.
Nothing their to lyk
Nothing. Electic showers write a hazard and cubicle dirty.
Nothing the web site is completely wrong in its detail of the hotel nothing like what it's says on your site I would not even rate this hotel with a star
Honestly everything It says the food is locally sourced and freshly made All the food was probably from a freezer then microwaved Rubbish you need to alter your discription of the hotel
Calm and quiet place. Very friendly staff
Breakfast...limited. Need to improve on that.
location, not easy to find even wih sat-nav
Our host was very helpful, nothing was too much trouble
Not used to such densely populated area, it was football nite locals were vocal
The Peel Hotel is in a nice quiet location with good walks nearby. The decor of the stairs, landing and bedrooms was very tasteful and in keeping with the type of building. The bedroom was really roomy and the bedding and towels nice and clean. We arrived early but were still made very welcome and shown to our room.
The price, far too high for the location and standard of the hotel. The bathroom needed to be cleaner. The breakfast was not of great quality and would rather have had room only. A couple of nicer touches would have been teabags that were wrapped and liquid soap in the bathroom.
Bathroom shawer was leaking and mats were wet thru. Bedding wasn't ironed... Not sure when was chenched last time.
Rooms were not ready on arrival at 7pm. Dirty sheets, awful service.
1. No one there when I arrived 2. Had to ring 3 numbers before I got a answer. 3. Had to wait 15 mins for man to arrive and let me in. 4. I didn't see anyone again!. The hotel was a pub as well which wasn't open. I feel the definishon of hotel is not what this place is! I won't be recommending this hotel to anyone!!!
Nothing. It was awful.
Mould in shower and on walls in bathroom.grubby bedding.stained towels. Green mould on toast at breakfast. Receptionist swearing.
Arrived less than an hour after booking but still made very welcome. GMAT very friendly and breakfast was great.
No Breakfast, No Heating< No Hot water
value for money location in a poor area for accommodation.
Good food & family run b& b everything explained & good home cooked food nice welcoming comfy bed to ensure a great nights sleep thankyou david
Booked at the last minute only negative point is we thought it was closer to barrow in Furness. Clean, very friendly, food was great as so were the staff. Would we stay here again yes!
I used this hotel for a single night stopover on my way to Keswick for a walking holiday. As such it fitted the bill completely, was comfortable, with good food, and pleasant, helpful staff. I would not hesitate to rebook.
Nothing. Leaving was the best part
Everything was horrible. Service was rubbish. Not what you would expect for the money at all. The beds were like sleeping on the floor they were that uncomfortable. I felt sleezy after sleeping there. I didn't even want to go in the shower because the towels didn't smell nice and they were damp. The ceiling had damp patches on it and the exterior wall was that cracked it looked like the building was ready to collapse. I didn't want breakfast as the only cook in the place was the husband and he had just left hospital with a very scabby flaking arm and I just couldn't bring myself to trust him to take extra precautions not to get it in the food. However my husband and son did go to breakfast and they didn't rate it at all. It was all cheap ingredients. On the night of arrival we were told the kitchen was closed due to the husband just leaving hospital. I do understand things happen but it would have been nice to at least had information of other places to eat in the area. It was late and we rang and rang the bell to get some information of were to go but no answer. Millom is a scruffy town with limited anything and we just couldn't find a place to eat on our own. We ended up going to a local spar for sandwiches expecting to eat them in the bar which is the rules of the hotel. No such luck. At 9pm we returned back to find the bar closed. Only by finding the hotels number on the internet were we able to speak with the owner who did apoligise and reopen the bar. If u want a nice place to go and a pleasant place to stay don't go to Millom and please don't go to peel hotel.
Very friendly husband and wife who give a relaxed family feel to this B&B. Very reasonable price for expensive area (The Lake District). Good food, and they will cook you an evening meal if required. Very clean.
Not a hotel as we know them to be. No room service for our four days, but clean towels willingly provided on request. All new and ongoing refurbishment, but choices make it feel old and dated. It is a converted pub in the back streets of a residential area. No facilities (shop, pub, restaurant) within walking distance for evenings. No toiletries, one pillow, very firm bed !
