Score from 826 reviews Good
The almost transparent curtains Shower very poor at best Constant clicking / dripping noise throughout the night
The breakfasts are very good
The shower and the hot tap on the wash basin need attention
The staff were very pleasent The service was good and nothing was too much trouble
Didn't like having to order in advance and the specials on the board on the evening were much more to my liking
The food in the restaurant.
Bed too small. Noise from the kitchen fans below all night. Room too hot even after turning heating off. Couldn't open window as fans even noisier. Terrible tap mixing for shower temperature. Shower curtain in bath -as a consequence water leaked all over the floor. Insulation between rooms. Wifi did not work.
Excellent evening meal.
The room at back with very noisy air con or some sort of refrigerator. Room was above kitchen. Need to start breakfast earlier than 8:30 on Sat I had to leave by 8am no breakfast. Disappointed.
Pleasant staff & good food
Front rooms could be noisy from A4 outside
Nice location and good room
Non existent wifi
Clean,tidy and pleasant.Staff good and nice grounds.Breakfast.
Fire alarm broken and making noise.Internet not in rooms only in bar.On main Road.
Very friendly, excellent food and good value
Convenient location. Staff very friendly. Food very good as was the beer. Lovely location.
Probably a one off but the fire alarm was malfunctioning, consequently there was a constant beeping sound throughout our entire stay, from our arrival to departure the following day. Clearly audible throughout the entire premises. Very irritating.
Pleasant atmosphere and surroundings. Nice Breakfast. Fresh Milk for tea making.
Water was not overly hot. The shower was weak, not much more than a dribble. (Lack of pressure). Bedromm floor was very creaky!
The pub itself was excellent, food was good value and a good choice, the beer was also excellent, I stayed on a Tuesday evening and it wasn't too busy, had a room at the back so very quiet (room 4 )
lack of hot water for a shower, seemed to be a shared plumbing system and got sporadic hot water, managed to get a shower, albeit a short one, apart from that all clean and tidy
Clean and tidy rooms, larger that expected nice and bright bathroom, excellent breakfast
Although wifi was noted on the description it was very intermittent and not available in the rooms.
The warm and friendly greeting from the staff sets the scene for a very pleasant overnight stay. The pub decor follows a modern trend for simplicity and neutral tones whilst the bedrooms are a bit more traditional (brown!). Beds were comfy and the ensuite perfectly adequate although if you want a power-shower you'll be disappointed. Breakfast (and lunch) were great and good value. I would recommend The Pelican for a short stay.
Location was great, even though next to main road was quiet. Gardens at rear of hotel lovely. Food was good with plenty of choice on the menu.
The water control in the shower.
Quaint pub, with good food. Friendly staff.
Right next to A4, very noisy. Also shower didn't work very well, couldn't get right water temperature. Wifi only available in bar area
Everything at The Pelican is first class.
Feel of the place Room itself was spacious fresh milk supplied
A bit noisy with traffic
Food was good. Room was comfortable. Staff were helpful and polite.
The breakfasts are excellent and the rooms very clean and pleasant. Value for money it is 10 out of 10. I visit Hungerford half a dozen times a year and have stayed at other more expensive places but keep coming back to the Pelican because it takes a lot of beating.
I do like a power shower so I do miss that and the water for me could be hotter but other than that and maybe the road noise there is nothing else to mention
Gluten free biscuits provided in room - nice touch
room was a bit cold
Everything.Nice and quiet,friendly staff,very clean
Nothing ti dislike
A very good hotel and restaurant
The staff were very helpful and made you feel at home
room 6 a very bad draught from the door leading to the flat roof, the shower rail needs a screw replacing the same for the tool rail
