Friendliness and efficiency of staff - so so much better than on previous stay one year ago
Extremely friendly, polite and helpful staff. Central location.
The noise of the doors banging early in the morning
Staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Nice comfortable room. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast.
Can't complain. Great venue. Great value.
Location, bathroom, bed, decoration looks and feels good, relaxing environment in bedroom.
Pillows were all the same size and I prefer a slightly thinner one. I suggest they change Scotch Porridge Oats for Flahavan's Irish porridge oats from Tesco, much nicer and creamier.
Staff friendly and tried hard, very large flat screen TV in room, free WiFi and parking. Soft bed. Large shower head.
Small dark room, cheaply furnished, thin walls and doors, view of brick walls. Corridor paintwork all scuffed. Reception is a small corridor off a stone patio with one chair in the corner and a notice on the desk saying if no one is at the desk (which there wasn't when we arrived) then please dial 0 (which I did but there was no answer but then someone turned up about 2 minutes later).Pillowcases laundered but stained. Hot water containers provided for tea making at breakfast heavily scaled so water all chalky.£120 felt expensive.
Location - very central to Berkhamsted for shops, restaurants etc. Bed reasonably comfortable. Spacious room.
Price - very expensive for a basic hotel and more expensive than many premium hotels in city centres that I have stayed in recently. Soundproofing in the rooms wasn't very good - could hear people talking in adjacent rooms. No comfy chairs in the room. Breakfast disappointing.
Good modern room decent size. Good breakfast with speedy service.
Difficult to find especially the car park. It is behind Cafe Rouge and the car park is entered through the Public Car Park behind M & S Food Hall.
The staff are friendly and the room very well appointed. Huuuuge tv on the wall. Bathroom very nice though compact. Nice little extras like a mini travel essentials kit inc needle and thread etc.
Could hear the next door guests quite a lot when they were moving around/talking. Was a bit awkward to find as satnav takes to you to the high street side and not where the entrance & carpark is.
Great Wifi Secure Parking Good Location Helpful Staff
Clean, nicely decorated rooms. Comfortable bed. Large flat-screen television mounted on wall. Great shower. Excellent breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff.
Parking is a bit difficult but there is an adjacent public car park if the hotel one is full.
Clean, nice location in the middle of town. Breakfast was well organised - nice to talk straight to the person cooking it.
We weren't told about the early check-in charge - though I don't know whether that's due to the hotel or booking.com. It was waived, which we're grateful for, but it would have been nice to know.
Just off the high street. Good shower room. Some quality appliances in the room (eg: kettle).
Poor breakfast including 20 minutes to be given my toast - 2 skinny, brittle crusts! Extremely overpriced. Advertised as listed building but it was modern. Room small and quite basic with view over carpark. Custard creams + basic tea - would have expected far higher quality for price.
The hotel was well placed for visiting family, set back from the road, the room was quiet. The Hungarian breakfast chef was very helpful, whether breakfast service, water for the car or water for the journey.
Staff weren't sure about time of breakfast. Room key cards failed to work repeatedly, necessitating numerous trips via a boiling hot staircase to reception. Reported blocked sink on three occasions, only to return to room and find still blocked. Pillows were like sleeping on bagged up shredded wheat! Returned to room on first day to find room door open, with no member of staff in sight. Bathroom tastefully designed but way too small for comfortable use.
Good location on the high street, easy parking, good choice of restaurant close by. Good breakfast choice
location was great although a little difficult to find tucked behind cafe rouge. this made for a peaceful nights sleep. room was very nice.
Central location Nice room Good free and secure parking
The room smelt of damp Finding the hotel was very difficult The temperature control on the shower was broken
A fantastic hotel!!!!
Room was ok.
A hotel without a bar, restaurant or lounge to relax in. Certainly would not want to walk down the road to a sister hotel for a drink!
Not really value for the £ 120 a night..
Located right in the heart of Berkhamsted and with free parking. Modern room in a historic setting. Helpful staff, despite a power cut when we arrived!
Chef did not turn up for breakfast and we needed to make an early start. However, we cannot fault the rest of the staff there who showed us where the "help-yourself" food was and even cooked an excellent hot breakfast for us.
