Good Pub atmosphere and Restaurant with above average rooms for a Pub
Hot water not hot enough
The staff, in particular the Polish lady, who served us in the bar on the Sunday evening, she was charming. Convenience and style of the room. Accepting our dog.
Holes in the bath towels. No shaver point in the bathroom. Cans and rubbish in the car park. (Rather about the people that visit but should be checked and cleared)
We liked the friendly staff, good food, good wine and beer/drinks selection well presented
We found that we were too hot in bed, the doonah was too hot. We booked the small double room and did find it small but that was all that was available.
Wouldn't recommend the food
Food, cleanliness and manners of staff excellent.
Unfortunately when we entered the room (No. 8) we thought somebody had been sick due to the smell but on investigation it appears it may have been the black wardrobe that was creating the smell! (Noticed an air freshener inside the wardrobe so perhaps this had already been brought to the attention of the hotel?! Pillows too soft and small
This is a nice place to stay. The rooms are nice, not all the same, and always clean. The pub has a nice selection of beer and the food is decent.
My room was nice but somewhat spoilt by the electric "air freshener" which actually pollutes the air with that awful floral smell.
The very helpful staff and accommodation. Thank you both Kelly and Chris for your welcome and assistance.
Not too close to the Cotswolds but still a nice area.
Stayed one night. Great location off the M4 as a stop over. Excellent food served by very helpful and friendly staff
Comfortable feel to the whole weekend
The quality of the rooms, the food was delightful, if a little expensive, and the facilities cannot be faulted.
The staff were so so, the location is between main roads meaning there is significant traffic noise. Water pressure in the showers was dreadful.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, the very comfortable rooms were stylish and spotless. Little extras like fresh milk for your room, books and magazines to read in your room, facecloths etc. Rural location means that there is no noise to interrupt your sleep.
Rural location also means that there is nowhere to stroll out to after dinner as there are no footpaths on the roads. Food was incredible and very much worth the menu prices, but if you are trying to keep within a subsistence budget you have to choose carefully and only have one course. Would be great if they could do a more reasonably priced bar menu too.
room comfort food excellent
fire alarm went off twice in the night
The whole place was really nice, great atmosphere.
My room smoke alarm went off twice at about 3am then 3.30am for no apparent reason. Also unable to get breakfast as leaving before half 8 that day.
Real coffee, real milk......
Great friendly staff. Good rooms with decent facilities.
Ala cart food was nice but not what a grown man needs after a hard day at work. Pork the size of a sparrow did not fill me a little bit for 16quid was a rip off.
The location was sublime as was the meal and the room and the staff
The food prices
Ideal location, just minutes from the M4 motorway but without any noise from traffic.Friendly staff, large clean room with large en suite bathroom. Very nice hotel.
Super food. A great atmosphere. Very comfortable bedroom. It is also really convenient if you are travelling on the M4 if you just want to pop in for a nice meal.
You need to stay in the right bedroom - some rooms at one end of the building get the noise of the kitchen.
Early room availabilty provided which assisted us greatly.
Very friendly staff, lovely room with everything you needed. Would definitely stay there again.
Found the bed a bit hard
Warm welcome, breakfast and the room itself
Everything. Beautiful location, very tastefully decorated rooms, lovely friendly staff, great food and a nice range of items for the included breakfast.
Having to leave.
Great menu with lots of options. Friendly and helpful staff.
Breakfast was average
This pub/restaurant come hotel is located very conveniently just off the M4 but in a very rural location. The rooms are pleasant and spacious enough and the shower room/wet room is well equipped. Unfortunately the boiler broke whilst we were staying so we had cold showers but the staff were extremely apologetic and knocked approx one third off the bill which we thought was very reasonable of them. They also delivered breakfast to the room to make up for the inconvenience of us being later due to the shower scenario. We would definitely return.
