good food, outstanding beer and good service,I would say it has the best location in town. stayed in room 3. at the rear, nice and quiet here plenty of room
beds just a bit to firm for my wife's comfort. although all ok with me nothing really bad to say
My single bed collapsed during the night, therefore no sleep after that. Reported it next morning at checkout. Have not had a word from management since. Parking a problem, had to carry bags to and from multi-storey car park 5mins away.
large room full of character excellent breakfast
the stairs very difficult for those withmobility problems

Location. Breakfast good
Could be cleaner...Bathroom grubby
The Staff , Location & food was great, the room was small banged my legs on the bed every time we went to the bathroom. Bed was uncomfortable not very good pillows.
The old atmosphere and a super breakfast.
The ghosts! Noise from outside street.
Location and atmosphere
Had to park down the street
Some ghosts around but I don't mind...

No parking, had to pay for car park over mins walk away
the kettle would not work
Breakfast staff were extremely pleasant and jovial. Other staff were lovely aswell
Old world charm.
Noisy yobs during middle of night.
Location ,staff, b/fast ,
noisy small room for money
The olde feeling. Close to all facilities. The english breakfast.
The bed. I stayed here 20 years ago and I am sure the mattress was the same.
Excellent food Brilliant staff, from checking in, eating in the evening and breakfast. Fabulous Lovely clean and comfortable room.
Tables in the restaurant were a little too close together, felt a little cramped. But I really am picking at straws to find something we didn't like!!
Location and history of the building was interesting, also they have ghost stories about the hotel.
Noisy hotel. Staff was rude. They are not welcome for foreigners.
the location was great for the town centre ,the staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast good and downstairs nice and cosy
basic verging on scruffy bedrooms .No facilities in keeping with the cost of the room ,ie hairdryer ,I got a blanket out as I went chilly in the night and it was about as old as the pub ! I couldn't stand to have it on the bed so I stayed chilled instead .so much more could be done to improve the stay for guests .
Staff very friendly, and bar food and beer excellent
Rooms are hot, noisey and very tired. Beds were comfortable and clean, but bathroom needs complete refurbishment.
Great location and nice original features in the building. Lovely breakfast included
Not very good customer care. Checked out on the last day and the member of staff didn't say thank you, hope everything was ok and you've enjoyed your stay. Instead she just took the key off me and walked off.
Would deffo return in the future.
We loved the quirkiness of the hotel. Good beer n friendly staff.
We loved our one night stay at the pied bull. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food severed was excellent, we ate both lunch and dinner it was that good! I would most certainly recommend staying here. :-)
The room was hot in the evening. This was due to the hot weather and would have like to have a fan in the room to sleep better.
The friendliness and helpful attitude of the staff. The quality of the food. The location : easy access to the walls, close to some excellent restaurants and so central for sightseeing!
Breakfast was disorganised and took far too long most mornings due to there being only one or two staff to take orders. Some air conditioning is sorely needed, for the top floor bedrooms in particular.
