The beds were comfortable. The food was nice. Good location. Good selection of food and drink. Received a small refund the following morning due to the issues we had. This made up for the over priced rooms slightly however even with the refund I think they are still over priced.
Not good value for money, rooms were over priced for what you get. I stay in a lot of hotels and this was more expensive than it should be for what you get. The TV didn't work. There weren't enough staff working upon arrival and therefore they were very busy. The shower was very slow running and the more I tried to tilt the shower head out over the slower the water ran so I had to stand very close to the wall. The room was dirty in places (toilet and window sill). There was water left in the kettle which I know should be emptied and checked by a member of management.
Ideal for the pier
No food available No breakfast till 8.30 we were away at 7.30 Bar closed at 9/9.30
Excellent location and view, good value for money in a very comfortable room. Staff were helpful. A good place to stay if you are on a budget.
The TV didn't work, although the manager lent me an analogue aeriel to try and remedy it, but after retuning the TV it still didn't pick up any channels. There is no wifi in the rooms either but I got temporary signal being over the bar. The band in the pub below were really loud until 11pm
food was fantastic lots of it too
flood light outside our bedroom window
Good views of harbour and abbey
Stairs are a bit tricky!
Could not get a burger after 8 o clock on Saturday night.
Location was superb, very central and close to all attractions.
The room was cold, the radiator only heated up at the bottom even after purchasing a radiator bleed key!! Spiral steps to get down from room ( 4 floors up) with no working light, a safety issue!
Ideally located and good value for money. The breakfast was fresh and tasty.
Food service staff. All friendly people food excellent. Lovely place.
Location, standard of cleanliness, standard of rooms. Food and drink service. Very quiet room even though it was at the front of the hotel on one of the busiest streets in Whitby.
The corridor up to the room was not very easy to negotiate, narrow with fairly steep steps.
Location and breakfast
Uncomfortable beds and pillows. Noise from downstairs and light in room from bright light outside window. Slat from one bed fell off and handle from drawers on floor when we arrived. Not very clean, bathroom smelt and shower too small
Location was excellent
Excellent staff very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was value for money and well cooked.
Rooms could do with updating a bit dated.
The staff very friendly, location great, the breakfast was very good
Nothing it was fine
Perfectly situated on the harbour
In serious need of some tlc, window frames filthy, paint peeling off them and also bathroom ceiling. Net curtain pole fell off! Nothing that a deep clean and a lick of paint couldn't solve.
Great central location. Very friendly staff who offered to carry cases to the room. Enjoyed the view from the Inn. Great full English breakfasts. New owner (his first day was the day we arrived) when asked for decaff tea bought it in before our last day. Would happily stay there again.
Breakfast wasn't served till 9am. Food service was finished by 6pm so had to find elsewhere. this was actually typical of many other eateries around Whitby.
Staff were friendly and eager to help, room was clean.
Breakfast- asked for scrambled eggs and beans with toast. When it arrived the egg was very undercooked, sloppy in texture and I could not eat it. Complained to the chef who to be fair said he would rectify it. When it came back it wasn't much better so I decided to just make do with the beans but I found a hair in them. This spoilt my breakfast, I could not eat anything after that. The 2nd morning we ate elsewhere.
Liked the location
4flights of stairs to our room. Very narrow and we both are 67 and have arthritis in our knees and hips even the couple we were with are in there 40s but they found it hard aswell
Location Room size Cost Some staff couldn't do enough for us, young girl who served us breakfast was most pleasant
Some members of staff were very miserable
The location in brilliant, the only family room was at the top 4 narrow windy floors up luckily we had older children but wouldn't like to do it with younger ones, the rooms were very clean and comfy. The lady on check in and the lady who served breakfast were lovely and pleasant.
But the other bar staff were very abrupt and were obviously not happy in there work and it showed, when you were served they never broke a smile. Also we were told to use the single door by the double doors we entered through at night to get back into the property, the key didn't work and we were outside late in the rain not knowing how we could get in!!! Luckily a lady opening her bedroom window and informed us that the key was for a door around the back of the property which you entered after hours.
loud music noisy bar poor breakfast quality staff disinterested
Clean bed linen Helpful manageress good breakfast Atmosphere except in evening
Fact that we could not get food after 6 pm! Not as stated on website. Would not have chosen this. Also wine too expensive by bottle.
Fabulous View from bedroom window in the heart of Whitby
Not the cleanest of premises
