Had a really good sleep and the breakfast was absolutely fabulous
Everything was great. the lady seems to be very friendly. good to see her. hope to travel there soon
Gill welcomed us as we arrived in the afternoon with a pot of tea. Clean, crisp sheets in warm cosy room and house. Excellent breakfast and super value.
The decor, location, the owner was attentive and friendly. Great breakfast! We thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable surroundings.
Room and ensuite were a quite small but would not stop us from visiting again.
We booked this as we visted the porrsmouth christmas market and shopping centre. The location was fantastic. The parking a definate plus and we were able to use the permit the next for a short period. This saved having to park in town at a busy time of day and was a comfortable walk to the harbour and shopping centre. Very friendly atmosphere fabulous breakfast. Well worth the price. If I was staying two or three days would have booked and requested a slightly bigger room but it suited our needs perfectly. ....look forward to returning soon.
This was a wonderful place to tour Portsmouth: Mary Rose and harbor; also D- Day museum . Bus transportation in front of hotel. Wonderful personal touch by staff with full breakfast and Wi-Fi
There was everything to like, the room was spacious, welcoming and spotless, the owner Gill was a great friendly help who went out of her way to greet us in to her guest house even to making us hot drinks to have in the lounge upon our arrival,we can't wait to visit again. From the Isle of Wight.
excellent service and an accomodating / informative welcome. If we are every in that vercinity again I we would consider staying at The Pier B+B again
The detection of a toilet / sewer smell by the owner on showing us the room was a little off putting. Although dealt with quickly perhaps this should have been done prior to siting the guests into their room.
Very welcoming, comfy and snug room, lovely breakfast. Great value for money would definately stay again. :)
Nothing to dislike
Wonderful reception when we arrived and service was very attentive without being obtrusive. I would highly recommend a stay at the Pier.
Lovely cooked breakfast
Convenient situation, on street parking outside. Very good breakfast with locally produced food. Homemade yoghurt.
Didn't like pod ensuite. I found it claustrophobic .
Gill very welcoming & provided a cup of tea on arrival - a nice touch. Lovely breakfasts & the room clean and comfortable. We would certainly stay at The Pier again.
Warm welcome, cozy little room, not too bad location, delicious breakfast, helpful owner.
Owner very welcoming, made us tea on arrival, met us at door with parking permit in hand. Pleasant room, comfortable bed, lovely breakfast. Pretty dining room overlooking street. Great location for walking to historic naval dockyard or Gun Wharf quays, close to beach and pier.
Bathroom pod a little claustrophobic, although spotlessly clean.
Clean and comfortable. Excellent location with free parking. Breakfast was excellent especially the home made yoghurt and the bacon! Proprietor very friendly and welcoming.
Bathroom small, my 6 foot husband struggled but it was a minor issue.
The clendends overall was very good and the food was excellent, the location was also good. Gill was very polite and helpful.
We were in Room 1 and found it VERY Claustrophobic, not in our eyes classed as a double room, cannot comment on other rooms as we did not see them.
A good location for visting the 'Old Portsmouth' area, within reasonable walking distance. Veey clean accommodation, For an old' building,m the refurbishment has resulted in a good establishment. Breakfast - fantastic, cooked to order with lovely - probably local - ingredients.
Parking of car was limited. I was fortunate to be able to get in to a space on the road with the permit allowed. The 26 stairs up to the second floor! It was a trek, particularly with case.
BREAKFAST was soooo good! Globally it was very nice! Staff lady was just amazing! Very good location!
Bed was a bit too soft and some noise from outside! Parking is missing!
We were warmly welcomed and given a very much needed cup of tea after a long journey. Our room was perfect, clean and bright. We were given a parking permit which allowed us to park safely just across the road outside. Breakfast was amazing. Will certainly be back. So much more to see and do! Wish we could have stayed longer.
We loved our whole Portsmouth experience.
Ultra clean---Friendly owner--Close to several eating establishments---
Every thing was 10 out 10, I will stay there again cleanliness, comfort And facilities all tip top next trip to Portsmouth hopefully I can book in at the Pier
Gill was really welcoming even though we arrived late (I did phone ahead to let her know). The room was beautiful and absolutely spotless - Gill got some peppermint tea for me and even gave us plates for the birthday cake I had made and wine glasses for the wine we had bought with us! The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was delicious - all made with local produce. Only a short walk to the beach and the memorial on the sea front. Also only about a ten minute walk to HMS Victory & Gunwharf Quay. Gill seemed very knowledgeable about the local area and gave us lots of advice about where to go and what to see. Overall a really friendly, cosy place to stay - we will definitely stay there again next time we are in Portsmouth.
